Oh, blood tests suck! I was on these meds about a year ago that made me have to have blood work every six weeks! Ugh.... Well, it depends on how often I see the eye doctor whether I am having problems or not. I saw him a month ago and was having some pain, so they set me up for tomorrow, but sometimes it two or three months in between. I see my rheumatologist around every six months to a year, depending on if I'm having problems or not. It's his job to find a way to get me off this Prednisone, but no such luck so far.

You would think he would have something else he could put you on apart from that rotten Prednisone. Oh ugg, every 6 weeks! That would have driven me batty.

Oh, it did drive me batty! That's why I cheated and stretched it out to about two months apart instead. The think with the Prednisone is it's the only drug they KNOW works for my condition. They've been using me as a guinea pig to figure out something else that MAY work.

Yes that other stuff they tried did sound like you were a Guinea pig for it. They should be paying you for testing it. I guess that other stuff didn't work? I'm so lucky that I have a wide range of meds that I can choose from. Ok so it's icky to change over and takes weeks to get used to, and then if it's no good I would still have to change to something else, but at least I have that choice and the side effects aren't possible killers. Well unless I was driving or something, then it could be. But that's illegal anyway. Surely your condition is more common. I hope someone is working on a better drug because that p one sure suxs.

Nothing's working.... I need to get off the Prednisone, so I can, hopefully, get my life back. Try as I might, I cannot get back down to my 'normal' size while I'm taking this crap.

Yeah, you did add more while I was posting. It definitely sucks to be put on this and that and then have to wait to get used to it. Actually, my condition is very rare, that's why no one knows what to do...lol. If you do a google search for 'orbital pseudo tumor, you will find almost nothing that is very different on the subject. I know, because I have done it. I have found a few folks with almost the same story as mine. On and off Prednisone is the ticket. *sigh* Ah well, it's time for me to hit the sack because I must rise early tomorrow...lol. Catch y'all later!

I bet you have Googled a lot. I know I Googled about mine and the possible things on the Nuro's list, that she didn't even know about. That she still doesn't so neither do I, such as artery problems. *sigh* Oh well at least we can both say we have interesting conditions. No boring run of the mill stuff around here, oh no. Sleep well and I hope that eye Doctor has something good to say!

Hopefully those appointment will all go well.
The next two weeks for me are very full of appointments too, at least one every day of the week.
I don't want to have to take prednisone, but my doctor says I'll have to if my allergies don't calm down.

Thanks, Sue. Prednisone isn't too bad in low doses, Sue. It's when they have to give you the hight doses and then you just can't seem to stop when it becomes a real problem. Tomorrow is the four-year anniversy of my body's addiction to Prednisone. Yay....not! lol When I'm not in pain, I think I'd rather take the pain than to take the drug, but once that pain starts and doesn't stop, there is only ONE choice to make. I hope all your troubles go away soon too. @jo! Yeah, at least our troubles aren't boring! Thanks, I slept ok, but not long enough because here I am again, drinking coffee and thinking about getting ready to go...lol The eye doc won't say Jack. He never does. I'll wait for a few hours, he'll see me, check out my pressure, etc, write me prescription, and tell me when to come back.

I thought I may as well bring this back up since I'm off to take my mom to the doctor this morning for a check up. I skipped it through all my previous doctor's visits...lol I'm still waiting to find out when my next eye appointment is after having that MRI done. Those people are so darned SLOW! I'll probably wind up having to call them to find out what's happening.

Hey Tina , those doctors are supposed to let you know what's happening, not the other way around! Still haven't heard anything on the MRI? It does not take them that long to read and trans cribe for an MRI! What the heck could be taking them so long? My doctor(Eye) said when I told him about your condition that your tumor could have been removed Five years ago using laser surgery! What's up with your doctors anyway, don't they keep up with the latest Technological advances in Medicine?

I don't know, Cat. I'm beginning to think my doctors are imbeciles! When they did the MRI, the tech said it would only be a few days before it was read and sent back to the doctor, so I'm sure it's ready. My doctors are just idiots. They are lucky I haven't brought a law suit against them.

Could you change Doctors? MRI's shouldn't take that long to be read.

Oh, they've read them. They just haven't bothered to contact me yet. They ALWAYS do this! They NEVER call me and I end up having to contact them. They are beyond pissing me off. I have been considering looking for another opinion.
