Declan was my fault. I was trying to remember without looking it up. Hey, I got most of the letters right! Lol! I know it's Irish, but for the life of me, I can't remember anymore what it means. (I know it's in that thread) Since he's only going to be in Jo's chapter anyway, it doesn't really matter to me if he gets changed back to Daeglan or not. I still have to sit down & re-read all the rules & stuff over again - I suffer from CRS!!! ~ Here you go Jilly! We can change his name - them's the rules! It's no problem. How about Deaglán? It means, "from goodness." (cope/pasted from the DDRRL Founder Poll thread!)

Ok I'll change his name to Deaglan, I don't have that accent thingamebob.
Have we got the family trait sorted, no one has responded to that.
Tina will you be around to make a cover?
Also what about a title. The Desirable Discourses Round Robin is a bit blah as well as a mouthful. I'm thinking on these as I am writing it now. Or Should we keep that as the title and just name our own chapters something more snappy?

How do you even get one of those thingamebobs anyway? ~ I agree with Jo,on the name, maybe we could have a naming poll?(as it is rather long & boring!) ~ What? about the family traits? I know what you mean about them, but I thought you were going to pick two, & I thought what ever the main trait was would set it for every Sim that followed on in the RR,(as they tend to get their parents traits!) I would pick something useful like Genius, but, thats me!lol!& as we are not going for random roll of the dice, & we are actually playing the 'Family Trait!' in this legacy, which is stated in the rules, you either roll the dice or pick? What was the Question, again? I got lost reading the rules!lol!

I think you are still not quite understanding karima, from what I read the family trait must start with the founder. His traits are Brave, charismatic, loves the outdoors, hopeless romantic and athletic. So I thought Charismatic as that helps with relationships which would also help with jobs.
At first I thought you were saying they must all be 'family orientated' but I really don't think that is the greatest trait as it may affect LTW. We wouldn't want more than one 'surrounded by family' LTW.
I'm going to just roll for the rest as that is what the sims 3 legacy rules say to do. If enough people on the RR list want to role for two then we could add that into our own rules. Or maybe even keep it optional. I quite enjoy getting random weird traits lol. But if someone doesn't then they could opt to change one of them to something that they want.

I'm totally confused. Are we talking about TS3 legacy rules, or the rules we decided upon? Since Our founder is the founder shouldn't he have whatever traits. The rule about a "family trait" would come into play w/ heirs. If i am reading this right all heirs should have one (or two) traits passed down in the family. So Jo, did you get to play any yet?

We're talking about both.
TS3 legacy rules say if we are doing 'family trait' that one trait is passed down. I thought that trait should origanly come from the founder and I was going to give the children charasmatic as the family trait. If we decide to have a second trait that we choose, than that would be our own rule.
Yes I have played some which is why I want it cleared up!

So Jo, did you get to play any yet? ~ I'm confused Too, Holley? ~ Though I do think we should have two family traits, to even out the Dice roll of three random traits! After all we are treading new ground here, & S3 Sims are more intelligent than there S2 counterparts! We are suiting the rules to better play the S3 Sims! So, we will be writing new rules as we go, as S2 rules will not work as well for S3!This RRL will be very different than any past Legacy! As it is not Sims2,so we have to adjust the rules! ~PS~ Jo, the trait 'Family Orientated',has many long term wants, attached to it! the most I get for that, is To get to the top of the Police career!(Aussie Karima!)With each expansion,it ads more, but, I actually have only gotten, surrounded by family once, but in the end you choose their LTW!Not the Sim or the game! It is S3,after all!

Karima! the rules are for TS3. the link is in the first thread. forum.thesims3.com/jforum/posts/list/39862.pageI think that's why you were confused. OK Jo! I get it. You choose Charasmatic and that will be the trait that passes down. Karima is saying we should choose TWO traits. What does everyone else think?

I know, thank you Holley, I was reading all that, an the comments thread attached, & even though, those are the rules, they, at the time, had not been played,so changes will occur, because of the differences in S2 & S3 & any further expansions! The rules will basically stay the same, but because of the differences, they will have to be adjusted,to suit the Sims 3 Sims! ~ I think two traits for the family traits, would be better,as you can get some bad traits,in a random roll! But if you want to stick to just the one I'm OK with it,its just you may have some uncontrollable Sims to play! (I just recently made a Random roll of the dice Sim, & I scream at my PC every time I play her,she will drop what you command her to do or the Que,& do her own thing,& a whole family like that, will most likely result in a major melt down!)

Tina will you be around to make a cover? Well, I have finally gotten Word and Photoshop installed back on my computer today, so I'm able to do the task now. EDIT: Wow, I just now saw all the talk about family traits. *EEK* lol It's fine with me if we pick another trait to pass down to all founders instead of letting it be a random roll, but I think we may have to vote on what it should be or something if we do. Who wants to make a poll? ;D

>sigh< It still seems like people are mixed up. I need coffee so sorry. 1. There is only one founder and I am playing him, those that come after him are the heirs not founders. 2. The second trait would not be a 'family trait', but rather should be called 'the optional trait' Optional because it will be up to the person playing. Maybe they think their sim is getting a good balance of traits via dice roll - fine. Or maybe they look and want to pull their hair out - So they can choose to change one. They can change any one trait to something that they want. The point being so that the player will enjoy her/his sims more and not have his/her head explode. I really don't think we want two of Deaglan's traits passed down as that is boring. 3. I am using Sims 3 rules, not sim 2 rules. 4. I will make the poll if it's needed, but I don't think it is. 5. I may have the first chapter out soon!

LOL! Sorry Jo. I'm not confused at all, just stupid. I meant heirs and not founders. I just typed it wrong. I guess I was confused a bit about the trait. An optional one sounds good to me!
