CC Issues (solved)

Okay, I just recently went and got the new update for sims 3, stupid me.
It deleted ALMOST ALL of my stolen CC from MATY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't have very many clothes now, and I'm pretty sure my hair is gone too. It's only the stuff from the sims store, not stuff creators have made.
I'm on the verge of tears now, what do I do??

Never, and I repeat NEVER install an update or an EP without making a backup of your stuff first, especially your Mods/Packages.

If you don't have recent backup of your stuff, then you are going to have to redownload and install all that stuff. These updates could possibly know if you have illegitimate items in your game and maybe delete it on purpose, for all I know.

Sorry about that, Sawyer, but I have instructions/advice posted all over this place about backing up your stuff before installing updates, etc. It's not my fault if someone bothers to listen/pay attention and follow them. *sigh*

I hate to say it, but this time it's not EAxis' fault. It's your own.

On a lighter note, it could have been worse. It's a pain to put back all that stuff, but it's not the end of the world.

Sawyer!Sawyer! Sawyer! Soon as I read your first line I was going to post back and say, how many times do we have to say take your downloads out before putting on a patch or a new EP! But Tina beat me too it. Still if I say it as well then maybe next time you will remember. And yes make a back up first.

You are just going to have to put it all back now. And Tina made a good point, perhapes EA patches are designed to destroy MATY cc.

What it is a backup of, your whole Sims 3 folder?

If so, I would delete the Sims 3 folder that's inside the game and then copy or cut and paste your backup folder into its place. If all you lost was the store content, then I guess that stuff was not in your Mods/Packages folder, but somewhere in your Sims 3 folder.

Well then, it's not as bad as it could have been for sure.

I made a back up of the program files.
What I'm thinking I should do is just delete the mods folder, and place in the old mods folder with all of my cc in it. Would that work?

Sawyer, I'm pretty sure all that stuff from the EA Store posted at MATY is in sims3pack form. That means that when you installed it, it went into where the cc goes into your documents folder. If you don't have a backup of that, then you have lost all that stuff and will have to redownload.

And yes, you CAN replace JUST your Mods/Packages folder if you have lost anything that was in there that needs replaced.

Okay, now i know it's not me. I just downloaded and reinstalled EVERYTHING!!!!! from MATY, and the only stuff that is showing up is the stuff I got in the beginning with my free ten bucks worth of items.

I'm restarting my whole system, and if it doesn't show up, I'm suing EA. -___-

LOL... I don't think so, Sawyer. That stuff from Maty is bootlegged, so there is no possible way you could sue them because you got it free and it's not showing up. I'm having the same problem right now with my stuff from Maty. For I all I know, they did something to stop the 'free' pay items from showing up in our games.

I'm reinstalling my stuff too to see if it shows up. It's a royal pain, so I sure hope it does.

BTW, did you make sure to highlight all the stuff in the launcher and click 'install'?
