Its OFFICIAL! I've been reading at Maty and sure enough, the last patch has effectively stopped the pirating from The Sims 3 Store. Now, the stuff you had that you didn't pay for will NOT show up and any new stuff you try to install that you didn't pay for will not install. You can't sue EA for protecting and stopping thievery of its own stuff. This SUCKS! lol There is a workaround at Maty that I'm going to try if my brain doesn't explode in the process of trying to figure it out...lol ETA: Well, Sawyer, the title of this thread is all well and good but... it's more like F U EAxis! *does a happy dance* I got my stuff back!!!! Try this y'all: www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=382520It SO worked for me! I have my beautiful, beautiful stuff back! ;D

Well I'll be one to try this tomorrow. ALl my stuff went missing, too! I didn't have any in the house I was playing, so I didn't miss it. *head desk Thanks for finding that work-around, Tina! I do love my WA, and I have faith that the pirates out there will keep us sailing on happy seas! Take THAT, EA!

You're welcome, but you KNOW when my stuff went AWOL, I wasn't gonna just here and not hunt for a solution! I even found a program by Delphy at MTS that can turn those Sims3Pack files into .package files so that they can go into your Mods/Packages folder just like the rest of the cc. I had to do that with that last update that is mostly WA-related. www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=364038

I used the first method to get the content I already had in the game to show up, because that was easier and quicker than changing all those Sims3Pack files into package files. Then, for the latest update from Maty, which I didn't have in my game already, I used Delphy's tool to change them into package files and then made a folder inside my Mods/Packages folder called Store Stuff and I put all of that inside there.

Tina, you should know EA by now. OF COURSE they're going to try and find a way to get the CC out, while leaving the actual EP a piece of crap.

I will have to check this out, as last time I was in Sims 3, the only things not showing was TSR stuff, I have been in Sims 2 building castles, that disappeared, & now I am trying to re-build one & tweak the other, video/graphics card needs a new fan,so I have my old card in & I am sure it will not handle Sims 3,as it is refusing to show Sims 2 stuff with high pollies!the Nvid card can not handle it!

Bummer, Karima! Crissy lost her castle, too!
I can assure you, all of our beloved Steampunk things are gone, but thanks to Tina, they're not gone for long!

Well, I opened my launcher this morning, connected to S3 and found my surprise from Karima. (Thanks, Karima!) Then I tried to launch my game, and got a message saying the "process cannot be completed". I've been struggling all morning to get the launcher to launch, but I just get the same message instantly. Then I noticed a new icon on my desktop, called "Sims 3 world tool". I DID NOT DOWNLOAD THIS TOOL FROM THE SITE. I deleted the tool. (after looking for an "uninstall" option - there was none.) And I still can't get the game to open. I haven't done the corrections to fix the MATY store CC problem yet, because it looks long and complicated and I just wasn't in the mood to mess with it yet.
Do I need to do this to play? (although I've been playing just fine without fixing this on Tuesday) Or is this a problem from the magically appearing world tool? (I'm guessing this was the world creator tool - I could get no info from the properties on it to be sure)

Try going into your sims 3 folder and deleting all your cache files. One or more of those may have become corrupted and is not letting your game open. It's weird about that world tool just appearing there like that. The thing with fixing the Maty stuff is actually pretty short and easy, not long and complicated.
