I can't do it because people are living there. I just want to be able to place a thing or two here and there. It's ridiculous how they won't let you. They give you all these others ways of destroying your game, yet they are afraid you will mess it up by moving some things around on a lot so they decide to make you have to enter cheats, etc to work around certain thing. How brilliant!

It's a bit like with BV where you can't own and run a hotel as a buisness. "To help your sims make the most of their time away..blah, blah...the businesses in vacation neighborhoods cannot be owned" (except that extends to hotels anywhere. I bet it ws the same bright spark who decided not to let toddlers go to community lots, or on vacations or have a letter box in buy mode or place things on appt grounds. Be very carfull about date gifts! I heard some of those can be placed outside doors efectivly locking sims in!

Oh my gosh, now that is ridiculous! By golly if I can't place something outside, neither should anyone else be able to...lol. It also means you can't use Pescado's stuck object remover to get of anything stuck somewhere either. When I was playing last night, a couple of the residents of another apartment got stuck playing 'rock, paper, scissors'. They stood in front of their apartment door just playing over and over and over and over again. I couldn't make them stop by talking to them either. I finally used the lot debugger to force and error though and that made them stop.

Why, oh why can't you call over your apartment neighbor and have them come over? How stupid! You can call and invite them and they'll say they'll be right over but they never show up. It's not a hack causing it either because I tried it with a clean game. Unless it's just the one lot and it's glitched for some reason. I'll have to give it a try in another one.

Well y'all, I have run across some cheats that let you enter build mode while people are living there AND be able to put things outside your apartment. Those will come in mighty handy, I tell ya!

boolProp aptsublotspecifictoolsdisabled false allows placement of stuff outside the apartment. 'true' turns the cheat off again of course. boolProp aptBaseLotSpecificToolsdisabled false allows full build mode to be accessed even while sims live there. It seems though that while sims are living there, you HAVE to also use the above cheat with this one to access build mode while sims are living there. I'm excited to have found these because I also discovered that I can renovate empty EAxian apt buildings without having to do the whole lot rezoning thing back and forth.

ohhhhh I have to write those down. that certainly will make things easier. i can't tell you how many times I would have liked to move a door over one square, or delete a window or something. Thanks Tina!

Hey, you're welcome! I'll tell ya what though... NOTHING is ever easy for me. There always has to be some sort of problem somewhere! Now, without having done a darned thing to cause it, I'm having a crashing problem upon entering one apartment lot. At first I thought it was the lot, but then found out it is not because the lot doesn't do it on my daughter's game. Even after a reinstall of AL, with no downloads folder, etc in the game, the stupid lot still crashes when I try to load one of the families. The other family in the building loads just fine. This really sucks, I tell ya. Now what I am going to do next is uninstall and then reinstall ALL my games to see if that cures the problem. This sure is starting to piss me off!

Oh no Hope you get it resolved. I would be inclined to just bulldoze the lot.

Bulldozing the lot won't help because it's something in my game that is wrong. It does the same thing in a bran-new installation with nothing in it that EAxis didn't put in. *sigh* This sucks! I don't know what to do. I'm researching the web now to see if anyone has experienced this sucky problem besides me.

Hey Tina. I hope you got your game working again. I was just wondering if you tried out those boolprop cheats? They don't seem to be working for me. They both have to be set to "false" for the code to work right?

Oh yea I tried them and they worked beautifully for me. They are a little tricky though. If people are living there, it seems you have to go into live mode and then back into build/buy mode for them to work. Or you have to actually enter the cheat in live mode. Make sure that BOTH cheats are on at the same time if people are living there. Oh and here's another thing: If you buy something for the community area while playing one family and then go play another, that family won't see the stuff you bought. It's just another one of those little annoying things that EAxis could have made much easier and better if they'd wanted to. So were you in an occupied lot or an empty one? The build bode cheat worked great for me on an empty lot and it saved it just fine too. And yes... false will turn them on. EDIT: Okay, I just now used the build mode cheat in an occupied apartment. the trick to making it work is to enter the cheat in live mode and then open build/buy mode. I had an insiane desire to make the Peterson woman's bedroom seperate from her kitchen. LOL So I had to put up a wall.

Okay.... WARNING:Don't do this on an occupied apartment unless you make a backup first. Something went nuts with the lot and after I added some walls, moved some furniture around, and added a bedroom door, the first thing I noticed was that she only had the option to make many, etc from the fridge. She could no longer have/serve meals. Then I noticed that it was treating the kitchen area as if it were outside because I could no longer pick anything up in regular buy mode. I decided to exit and visit her playable neighbor. When I got there it said her apartment was unoccupied and someone else moved in. I tried to get Cyd Roseland to introduce himself to her, but he was unable to do so. Keep in mind, though, that this IS the lot that has been giving me trouble so it could be just me/my computer, but I just wanted to tell you all of these things so that before you try it, you'll be sure to back up your hood first just in case.

WOW! I have uninstalled all my games and then reinstalled all of them , but when I went to install AL it wouldn't do anything at all! I have not played my game because, I thought I would wait and exchange the bad AL disc for a new one. I have zero CC in my game right now. Its like brand new. From listening to you guys, I'm not sure I want AL anymore! Are all these problems worth it? I know there's always a way to get around glitches, but WOW it sounds like you guys are really haveing big problems!
