That's how I made the vamps, but it didn't even dawn on me to click away the teeth icon!
That Statue of Life hack I wanted let you make or resurrect ghosts, which is why I wanted it, but I couldn't get it to work.

The option to make sims "appear" as ghost is under "Apply ghost shader". Again, you can make the sim look like any type of in game ghost from the several death options. The only thing is they don't have the ghost interactions to haunt stuff BUT you can use the animation section to get Grim Reaper effects that have similar animations!

Too Cool! Well, believe it or not, I actually cranked out a chapter! You may need to go back and catch up, as it's been so long. Good job on getting it all up Jilly~ including those credits. That apartment is amazing, who built that?  I didn't even know you could get things to look like that in Sims 3.  I read some at the kid’s quiet time and some tonight. My head is still foggy, but great stuff. I don't know how any of this relates to the other characters, and I'm a bit unsure why there are different types of vampires? He has fangs so why would she come back and bite him? I might need some explanations along the way if I am to keep it all straight. Incoherent comment is incoherent, but it is gripping stuff. |

If it helps...A summary of the Darklings:
there's kind of 2 sides of town - the Twinbrook people where Talson, Tessa, and the Smiths live, and across the bridge is Bridgeport, where the Darklings (vampires) live. The Darklings survived the Feldman's Syndrome that was caused by the lack of chemicals that make our air breathable, due to high pollution.
As a boy in Bridgeport, Talson Curious was already a gifted inventor, but his father wouldn't allow him to go to the science institute in Twinbrook. Talson submitted an entry for a science scholarship, won, and ran away to accept it, leaving behind his parents, younger brother and sister in Bridgeport. He lived at the academy, and the Smiths sort of adopted him, looking after him.
About a year later, The Dark Times fell, which is when the pollution hit critical mass and the air and water supplies were damaged beyond repair. The scientific people of Twinbrook prepared for this, by sealing their homes and the inventors at the JVS made oxygen generators, which kept fresh air pumping into the sealed homes. Because of the suburban setting, they had more trees/plant life to keep the air there cleaner than those in the city of Bridgeport, who had removed all the trees to build their skyscrapers.
Feldman's Syndrome (Darkling Disease) is what happened to people when they could no longer draw oxygen from the air to breathe. They turned bluish, and their skin became sensitive to sunlight. Most died, but the ones who lived grew fangs, which they use to draw the oxygen from the blood of healthy people or animals.
When this was happening, young Talson tried to get his family to safety, PT SMith agreeing to take them in. His father refused, and disowned him. PT also went on his own to try, but the father refused to give up his 2 remaining children. PT came back with the news that when he was in Bridgeport, he'd already heard the children wheezing in the first stages of Darklings, and knew it was too late for them.
Talson remained in Twinbrook and grew to be a famous inventor, but never got over the guilt of the loss of his siblings, thinking he could've done more to save them. He assumed they died along with their father and countless others.
Shunned by the unaffected people of Twinbrook who fear contamination by them, the Darklings are creating their own society in Bridgeport. As with any new society, they are some who want to make things better for the Darklings (Jay), and some who want to corrupt the rising new city for their own profit. (Arlo)
That brings us to this chapter. Everyone in this chapter is a Darkling - this chapter is all about them.
I hope that clears up some of it for you! I know it's been so long since I updated, that alot of this was forgotten.

That was a good summary! I think I might go back and reread the last few chapters anyways. I think Jo was confused as why Roma was blue, maybe. So is PT's wife. Is there a reason why some Darklings turn blue. Great update as usual. Guy and Lei's scene turned out perfectly (even though you know what i would have rathered  ) The pictures were perfect for it. Accapella is so brave helping them out. I know there will be some backlash from lei getting away and I am sure she knows it. Gah! Roma, what a piece of work she is. I am sure that even if she didn't know what Soloane was going to do to Lei, she wouldn't care if she disappeared. She doesn't deserve Jay and I hope he wakes up and realize he could do so much better than that selfish b*tch. Ah! So Jay and Lei are "Curious" They must be Talson's little brother and sister! I wonder what he would think about the fact that they are Darklings? |

The blue-ness is just the degree that their disease progressed to before they were able to adapt to it and live thru it. Some bodies adapted sooner, and some were very close to death before they "mutated" and lived, rather than just dying from it. I do need to mention that - I'd forgotten I hadn't mentioned it in the story, so thanks for the reminder!
And as for the rest:
It will be interesting to see what will happen now that we know they're alive. Do they know about Talson? Will Talson learn they're still alive, and if so, how will he take the news? He's very anti-darkling...And Arlo is not going to be happy that he lost Lei. Not at all.
And thanks again for writing the opening scene - it was easily the best one in the chapter! |

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! So glad to see this back, Jill! ;D The opening scene was well worth the wait, well ghost written by Holley and well shot by you.  You two work well as a team, the writing was seamless from that scene to the next. ;D I love all the characters and it was great to get some background and see sort of behind the scenes of the Darklings. Roma's an interesting one, it must have been awful for her to lose the baby, but that and her wish to be at the top of society seem to be ruling all else now. Jay/Jinhai's such a nice guy, and well meaning to his little sister. And let's hope Toothpick (still love calling her that) can get her life sorted and end up with Guy. Good on Acapella getting her out when she did and helping to hide her. Oooh, and Curious as a last name! Yays! ;D Someone, quick, put Morecambe and Wise on the stereo! I so enjoyed this Jilly! Loved all the details, like the Barneys and the notes and the backstories, and just yay. I'm so happy to see this back. |

I knew some details were going over my head or rather through one ear and out the other -I hadn't spotted the 'Curious' connection. But yah they are alive! Also thanks for clearing up the bluness factor, I was asking about that, but also why would she bite one of her own kind? Or is that more like a threat to slap someone rather than a threat to drink blood? |

You lost me on the biting - no one in this chapter is trying to bite anyone - does it look like they are? I hope not, but if you can tell me what you're looking at, amybe I can clear it up!
And the blue thing - I hate when I do that - I have a story fact in my head and never realize I haven't actually addressed it in the story! I'll make sure to work it in there soon! Sorry about that!

When I was reading I was wondering if they were zombies as well as vamps and that was why they were blue. But your summery fixed that up. It wasn't seen, it was what one of the female characters said. I was sure one of them said she would bite him later as a kind of a threat. Then again I'm still so tired-maybe I made it up as I went along!  |
