That is a good point. I tossed it in when he was born, because I wasn't sure if I could later. I don't play sims 3 enough to remember things like that.

The only issue w/ that is that you need to make sure their life is good so you are able to choose a trait.

I try and cram in everything, so I doubt there will be any problem there.
I've already had the second baby and given him his optional trait too, because I wanted the kids to have one trait from the person they are named after. That's the only thing with waiting, you will have to change the way you write their personality.

The only issue w/ that is that you need to make sure their life is good so you are able to choose a trait. Actually it doesn't matter what traits you are given/able to choose because there is an award that will allow you to pick new traits. By the time a sim reaches adulthood, they will have saved up more than enough LTW points to purchase it, so all you'd have to do is to buy it and only change ONE of his traits. Jo, changing the way you write his personality wouldn't be so hard actually because people can change as they grow. Say, the kid could have been more of a brat, but then grew out of it as he grew older. It helps stimulate the imagination.

That award only gives you like 4 or 5 options, and you may not get the one you want. (learned by experience) You can use the testing cheat to change traits, which I would think is allowable ONLY if you are selectng your optional trait. Would that be correct?

That feels a lot like cheating to me. Why should you need that? I think people should just asign it when they like. Less rules to worry about are good.

Can someone post all the relevant rules please because I'm so confused now about what's permissible I know I'm only # 6 but it will help me a lot to familiarize myself with a quick guide ;D

I think Tina amended the first post in this thread with corrected rules and links to the main rule set. I know I need to print them off & have a good study. As specific things that apply for our own RR come up, we've been puttng them to a vote and adding, but I don't think the optional trait has been written in yet.

Yes, the rules of this challenge are in the first post in this thread and one of those rules is to follow 'legacy rules', so I posted a link to those for TS3 in the first post as well. No, the 'optional trait' has not been added to the first post yet, but since we all seem to be in agreement on that, I will add that in later today.

OK folks, I have just added the bit about the optional trait to the rules. I also stated that you may wait until the heir is chosen to use the option to pick a trait so that a trait doesn't have to be chosen for EACH offspring. Hopefully that will work for everyone. I may also add to the rules that you may age a baby into a toddler whenever you want because playing babies SUCKS in TS3 and I can't STAND them!

That's very naughty. I've been waiting for the pop up. Legacy's are supposed to have boring challenging things in them. What to do with all you non legacy players. You better make a poll before you do.

Take me away ... whatever it is! Normal life span says the baby has three days to age up, but I think the pop up happens at the end of day two. It's not that bad!
