LOL... sometimes folks just expect too much, I think. Now and then, I enjoy a lengthy comment if someone has a lot they want to say, but even a short one just to say you liked it and let me know you've read it is good enough for me. Oh yeah, this think is real easy Jo! It uploaded my WHOLE Word document, pics and all with just ONE click! Then one more click to make it into a slide show, and one more click to post it on LJ. One, two, three... easy! ;D

Well I have no idea how you did that! Talk about a tech wizz. PetTech/Steph's tutorial as far as I could see is done one page at a time. Everyone says it's a great tutorial and the one people link to. I'll have to read it again in case something went in one ear and straight out my other one. (Entirely quite possible with me ) But I know I used what she was saying at the start to put that one poor page up that you saw and I know she talks about adding slides one under the other. Maybe you have found some new great method! Wouldn't surprise me. I know about the comments. I guess I got spoiled by the longer ones. I think also on Bp because people often don't talk casually (There are too many members) They take the opportunity to chat about the stories as well as diverting off a little onto other topics more in the persons story thread. So it becomes an opportunity to chat a little. For me if I leave a tiny comment below someones half a page it make me feel awkward at least. Plus then they don't talk back so much. If you leave "That was great" they reply back with "Thanks!" I think this is also why LJ started becoming more a community. People also chat a little there.

LOL... I did NOTHING special or unique, Jo! All I did was sign up for an account with slideshare and then I followed the steps on the page. I hit the upload button and chose my Word document, and the site did the rest. Go ahead, try it and see what happens. I'm telling you it was a snap! There was nothing techy, or genius-like about the whole process. It was so easy, a cave man could do it!

I'm sure my pictures would be all distorted. I'm quite happy with the scroll down on LJ...unless other people don't like reading my scroll down?

LOL... scroll down is fine with me for reading. I just enjoy the element of surprise sometimes when folks are reading mine. Besides, I think it's really cool how you don't have to upload so many pics to photobucket and go through so many steps to get a story on LJ. I'm lazy that way..lol The pics aren't really distorted anyway. Amylu's are a bit pixelated when I make her stories into full screen, but it doesn't really bother me. I know, though, that it bothers some people...lol

I did the same thing for my more recent update that Tina says she did for hers. I don't click on the full screen button when viewing them though, I just zoom in on IE (View, Zoom - though I use shortcut keys instead), until it is large enough to read. I like doing it that way, so that I can have other documents open if I want to write out names or such for commenting, or to do other things without having to close out of it.
I am reading this story Tina, I'm just super slow about it due to having terrible headaches lately.
Edit: With regards to the pixelated pictures part, I've heard that you have to either resize the pictures (in word or powerpoint back to the original size) or you can set it as a PDF file. I haven't tried either yet, since it doesn't bother me at all if the pictures aren't clear.

Well the way you managed to do it yes, the way I saw it as adding one slide at a time to me looked like a lot more work then a scroll down.

Thanks Sue! Don't worry about being slow to read. I know how it is to have a headache that won't let you think about anything but it. Well, crapola! After all that praising how easy it was earlier, now my login from slideshare to live journal is failing! I've just finished redoing the first two segments of this story, making them into one, and now it won't let me post it on LJ. lol Makes me annoyed when something like happens and it doesn't tell you why. I guess these things just happen, so I hope it gets better soon..lol

Ohmy! D: I think I sparked a thread high-jack! ;D I'm okay with scroll downs. But, as I was saying, my internet doesn't fully load the page if you've got over two segments on one page. So, I get half loaded pics, and all that jazz. If slideshare is easier for you, then by all means go ahead! I like the element of surprise that comes with album-styled stories. I sometimes peek down a couple pics with scroll downs.

Sawyer, that's what the spoilers are for. With the pics behind the spoilers, that really shouldn't be a problem for you because you aren't loading more than one segment. As of now, though, slideshare is not allowing my login to LJ to go through from there, so I can't upload this stupid thing! It's starting to piss me off...lol

but it still has to load the pics, though, right Tina? My internet won't keep loading forever.

I think it only loads the pics in the spoiler you're looking at, not the ones behind other spoilers. But... I got that thing up on LJ anyway, by golly! I posted it in a different way.

I'm not sure that's how my internet loads, because when the page isn't formatted correctly, it gives me half of the pic.

Actually, maybe they do load anyway. The spoilers just stop the page from jumping around while they do. Ah well, there will be no more segments posted in the thread anymore because they will be going up on LJ in slideshare format. ;D
