Juni's Ambitions

Hi all,
I'm about to leave for my daughter's high school graduation, but I wanted to try and get these posted before I go.
I got Ambitions last night, and have been playing around a bit.
Here's what I've found so far...

Meet Juni. She's going to be my inventor, because I want to blow stuff up...WITH MY MIND! Juni has a sun tatoo at her ankle (they can oly go on the front, not the side) And a moon & stars on her lower back. I did this in CAS when I made her.



She moved into this house in Twinbrook's swamps. A good place to practice blowing stuff up, I think. (WITH MY MIND!!!)




Juni is on a quest to learn all she can about the inventor career.




So Juni was sent to the bookstore for some Inventor Skilling books,






And I got her an inventor's bench.

With some basic knowledge, I set her to work.



She soon runs out of scrap to use, so I can either buy some from the table, or go to a junk yard (there are two in town) and scavenge for free scrap.




Finding a scrap heap, she sets to work digging thru it.



and filling her inventory with scrap to take home and put into her inventor's bench.




While there, she meets other inventor-type scavengers.

She made some cool things she can use or sell to the consignment shop in town. Inventor is a self-employee career, so she will work from home or thru opportunities, and those opportunities and the money she makes from the consignment shop are her only income.



She made this Magical Inventing Gnome, which I haven't played around with yet.



and this device, called a miner.



While she was using the Miner, she discovered a cave.



As it turns out, a cave is like the catacombs in the cemetery. You just sit and wait while it throws up messages to tell you what's happening down there...







At this point, she gained enough skill to detonate objects. That update will have to wait, as I have to leave. I'll bring the rest tonight!

Wow, this does look very cool, I love the stuff she invented and the caves she went into, it looks really different!

I also love the name Justin Kayes for a scavenger - keep anything you find, Just-in Case it comes in handy!

Very cool. I didn't realize from seeing the other ladies write up just how huge those junk piles are, yikes! Also that pipe...looks like it's got blood on it. *hides*

Magical Inventing Gnome... is that one of the ones who might eat her?! Lol this looks like a dangerous career!

I took out my mods folder, but that was all I did. I actually still haven't put it back in, because I have to put it in a different place now. (see AMB thread) Since I only played a new game in the new hood, I didn't worry about it yet.

I was going to put up more pics tonight, but I'm whupped, so it may have to ride until tomorrow.

I didn't upload all my pics to PB from home yet, but here's what I have so far...

First off, I was very disappointed to learn that you can't blow stuff up WITH YOUR MIND. However, you CAN blow stuff up. The interaction they show on the previews is actually them covering their ears from the BOOM! To me, it looked like they were using their thoughts, so that's my bad.

But once you gain the skill, you can blow up almost ANYTHING. I clicked on the bathtub & got options of bathing, cleaning the tub, or detonating it. I feel consoled now.




But I felt, for a first attempt, that I should strike back out to the junkyard.



Juni presses the tiny detonator in her hand and runs like hell.




But clearly, not far enough away.




Once the pile is blown, you find these scattered around the junkyard. They are units of scrap, and if you collect them, you can put them in your inventing table at home.



While looking for all the new piles of scrap, Juni finds the headstone of a fellow inventor who probably got too close to the BOOM.

As I always must, I've begun expanding the maxis house. First off, I added this lower level for an "Inventing" room, so if there's an accident, it won't ruin my furniture. (I don't know if this is possible, but it gives me a reason to modify this house and brings me joy. Stop looking at me.)

The washing machine was already on the lot when I moved in. Around town, I see these outside of the house very often. In the back yard, they have provided a clothesline in leiu of a dryer. Before I have her wash anything, I have her upgrade it.



If you have a washer on your lot, your sim WILL leave piles of laundry all over the house. If you buy a hamper, they will put them in there.



For some reason, she likes to work in her PJ's.

She got an opportunity to make some things for the science lab, the criminal warehouse, and the spa, so far.









Using her little electric car (from Karima's free stuff link) Juni is off to drop off the ordered items and get some funds in her bank accout!

She decides to officially register as an inventor via her computer.

That's all the pics I have on PB, so I'll try and get some more up tonight.

Just a note:
As they increase their inventing skills, they seem to catch fire while using the inventing table. A LOT. The fire dept does NOT get there in time to put out your sim. (I found this out after 3 exit w/no save sessions! Ouch!) The best ting is to have another sim in the house, which I did. (You'll see him next update.) That sim has the option to "put out sim", and if you keep them close enough to the inventing sim, it solves the fiery death problem quite nicely.

My new plan for Juni is to make a robot. If she can't blow stuff up WITH HER MIND, gosh darn it, she'll have a robot she can send around town blowing stuff up for her! Mwaahahaha!!!

;D Do they have a sprinkler system yet? or do you get to invent one? because it is clearly called for!

I didn't see anything about a sprinkler, but the fire alarm doesn't do a bit of good!
