Oh yea Jilly, I posted a thread with the links to all my favorite mods over there. I don't know if it will fix an already broken game, but the ones I have from JMP and TwoJeffs seem to help prevent it from getting broken in the first place. I just don't understand what could be wrong with your phones. It has to be either some sort of download you have causing it, or games files that have been corrupted for some reason.

You know, there are problems with this game that have been there from day one that EA has never bothered to fix. Some of those are serious enough to corrupt and screw up your game just by playing it. One of the main hacks I have from JM is No corrupt death. I can't give specific details because it's been quite a while since I've read up on it so I don't want to give false info, but... there is something about the way the games handles deaths that isn't right and screws with the game files so that over time, your game can get all screwed up.

My advice to anyone who is having problems with their game would be to go to Maty and just do searches and read up on all the problems that can happen with your game just out of the box. JMP is an obnoxious jerk, but I trust his knowledge/judgement about computers/coding implicitly and would not want to play my game without his fixes installed.

That's something I hadn't heard of! So That's what it is called "No corrupt death"? Is that at MATY?

Yep. It's one of JMP's fixes. He has ratings on his hacks and if one says 'Critical', it means it's a game fix that is highly reccomended to keep your game from going 'splodey...

Never mind I found it in the hack directory, but some info on it would be good rather then just a download file.

If you download it, there is a rtfm inside the rar file that you can read before installing it.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place in your MYDOCU~1\EAGAME~1\THESIM~1\DOWNLO~1 directory.

FIXES:
The formation of the corrupted death memory, as seen in gossip of the form
"jagged lines", "tombstone", "dead Sim", is now suppressed. Existing
corrupted death memory markers not affected, and will continue to spread
unless eliminated in SimPE. You can usually identify corrupted death markers,
because one will follow every directly-experienced death of visitor or family
member, and is flagged "invisible", with no event owner. It will spread to
other Sims in gossip, and all memories of this form (no event owner,
$Subject Died, Dead Sim), are corrupted "jagged line" memories. Delete these
whenever they show up in gossip, noting which sim possesses them, and which
sim received it. Find the corrupted memory in both Sims and expunge it from
anyone you can find.

For non-advanced or lazy users, you're stuck with your existing jagged lines
for now. New neighborhoods will be clean.


FEATURES:
Sims will now receive green death memories when a hated non-family member dies.


COMPATIBILITY:
This hack is fully compatible with all FFS hacks. Tested for TS2NL v1.0p1.


SIDE EFFECTS:
May cause computer damage, incontinence, explosion of user's head, coma, death,
and/or halitosis.

Yeah so have I I lost all my games about 18 months ago. dh put on a virus protecter and everything stoped working. We tried a new video card, new drivers, new power source. Reinstalled everything about 4 times. Would have helped had I known how to delete then place a backup back in but we didn't and we tried to put it ontop of what was there and I got white sims with blue writting. Lost all my downloads. It was horrible! Lost my apocylips challenge.
Ended up getting a new computer designed to play sims. Which is how come I have 10,500 odd downloads now. Even putting on CB was freaking me out though, even with a backup. Uggg.

Well, I did it people! Finally I installed AL. I haven't put my downloads folder back in though and am only messing around in Belladonna Cove for now to check things out a bit. Wow, I can't believe EA put a family in the game without any parents! I've stuck those kids in a three-bedroom apartment for now to see how interesting it will be to play them in such a small place without parents to take care of the tots...lol

Congratulations on installing AL Tina! Hopefully everything will run smoothly when you put your download folder in.

I thought that family was interesting too. it was the only Maxis made that I didn't delete.
