Weird thing with my game.

It's Targa's 'old tree swing' that you have. All you have to do is is find it in Clean Installer and delete it if you're tired of it. I noticed that Jilly has that swing too and she has no Maxis swing except for the Seasons bonus one. There is another tree swing here if you want one that does not overwrite the Maxis one. It's a bummer too because I really LIKE the look of that tree swing, but I don't want to lose the orginal just to have it.

I have that one too But I don't find that it looks right. The branch sits away so it doesn't look like the branch is actually coming from the tree. It doesn't blend into any of the maxis trees except one which doesn't look too horrid, but I can't say I am happy with it. I wouldn't want it showing in photos. It's a shame because I really do like Targa's tree swing but get a bit tired of having it ALL the time.

I do have another cc one, I don't know if it showed at Ray-Rays house last chapter but it looks like a boat.

Yea, I kind of thought that one looked a bit odd in the pictures too. Targa's tree swing looks REALLY cool and I thought about getting it, but I don't like anything that overwrites original game objects. I'm not sure how good it is for the game either. They say that for some reason, that swing is just about impossible to clone. Heck I went looking for recolors of it so I could maybe have a rusty-looking one for my trailer park, but couldn't even find any of those.

I hated that the tree swing took my options away. Now, I almost always use the wooden BV bonus swing, but I liked to have the choice, ya know? Sometimes that tire swing was great, but sometimes you want a swing set. I had (have?) a tire swing that just hangs down from a string - like you would hang it up under a roof overhang, etc. I made a treehouse & hung it from there. I got it from someone else's lot I downloaded, so I know nothing about it. I THINK it's on the treehouse that's uploaded on my simpage.

The only way I know to get your maxis colour swing back is to place some on a lot, save and exit the game. Then load up and not enable cc. Go into that lot and they will be back to maxis swings and they will stay that way after exiting the game again, loading and enabling cc. That's a bit of a run around for some swings though.

Another thought, maybe once you have a colour swing you could shift click place a lot and stuff somebodies inventory with them and they can give them out as gifts.

Actually Jo, the only way to TRULY get your Maxis swing back is to delete the old tree swing. I was play testing Jilly's downloads today and went into a house that had a swing set. It had two swings. One side looked like the Maxis swing, but the other side had the swing from the tree on it and looked as if it were made of wood. It was the goofiest-looking thing I've seen in a while!

When I went into bazza's business lot with the cc off after putting AL on the maxis swing was there and stayed there after reloading and enabling cc. I'm sure there are pic of it in the last Fair Dinkum Flamingo chapter. It looks normal. Same with the pool ladder. But maybe it won't work like that in everybody's game.

Well it may have shown up like that in my game because the swing was already there and cc was enabled. It was really strange though...lol I should have taken a pic! I do know that when I grabbed the swing, it turned into two trees...lol

Primp disappeared because EAxis broke it.. twice, with two different EPs.

Car woohoo is probably being blocked by some hack or another. The only way to find out is to take out your downloads folder and see if you have it back.

The pool ladder is likely being overwritten by one of your cc pool ladders and I think I had that table that overwrites the glass table a long time ago. I got rid of it though because I also missed my glass table.

I think I got that pool ladder on a lot I downloaded. One of the contestants in my messy house fix up challenge had it. It annoys me sometimes. How do I find that?

But which table over writes the glass one? I would really like the glass one back.

Oh man Jo, I can't remember which table it was. It was over a year or so ago since I got rid of it and read about others having problems with it as well. You can delete the custom pool ladder from inside the game from the catelog actually. That would fix your problem. You could also try finding it in Clean Installer, but you won't be able to if the file name is a long string of random numbers.

Doing a binary search could help, which simply means taking half your downloads out and keep doing that until you find the problem file will work as well, but it takes time and patience to get that done. The BEST thing to do is make those sub folders and go through your stuff and then watch out and be careful of what you put into your game.

You could start all over by packaging a lot or two with every item you want to keep and packaging it to a file. You could then start sub foldering the items and then put them into your downloads folder. Then you could delete the unfoldered duplicates. It's at least a start.

The hard part is getting that motivated feeling...lol. I'll tell ya what though... when you get fed up enough with things in your game that irritate ya, that motivation will eventually strike!
