Or Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Omisoka or anything else you happen to celebrate. So far I have my daughters two main presents, The Polly Pocket Cruis Ship and the the Playmobile horse wash www.shopwiki.com/_Playmobil+Horse+Washing+Station?o=267835341&s=3451& Which I guess isn't exactly large, but it will do as she has some other middle sized things for her stocking. I have a vet kit, a Island Princess Wii game, a bracelet and a princess card game for her stocking so far. Dh picked up a free yo-yo so I'll toss that in. I would like to get her another Go Go pet and keep finding those sold out. I also like to include a book and a small puzzle and a couple of cheap things like a new piece of Barbie clothing. Daniel has the Speed McQueen (from the movie Cars) kids laptop www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_10001_10001_74767_1155829_-1 My son is obsessed with vehicles but particularly racing cars. The Thomas Duplo Train which should arrive shortly yah. For his stocking if it will fit is a new magna Doodle. Also some small cars and a torch (that's what you call a Flash light ) A tiny Mario remote control car. have to look around for a book and a few other things. For my MIL I picked up a handmade quilted bag. And that's all so far. A lot of the adult things I will buy online. We may yet have to buy another paddling pool. (Summer here) We seem to buy one nearly every Christmas.

I haven't even started yet. D:
I had no idea Playmoblie was still around! I loved that stuff when I was a kid. I'm not sure my mom did tough; there was so much of it and in such small pieces I always made a giant mess when I played with it. One mall near us even had a Playmoblie store.

I haven't even thought about starting yet. I never do until after Thanksgiving, (which Jo doesn't have to worry about....lol), and I'm not evening looking forward to doing all that shopping for and cooking of the Thanksgiving food. Also, I have my mom's birthday coming up on Tuesday, and I don't even have any idea what to get her.

>hehe< I knew you would come in and say that Tina. Well I may not have thanksgiving but I think a birthday party and a dance concert are enough things on. I got my mum (Birthday as the 17th of Nov) 3 hankies done up as a craft gift. One was like a fan, another was like a purse and the third was...something. Ok so that's gone down one of my black holes. But they were done up with card to look like little objects. Oh an umbrella! that was what the third hanky was! Sarah put some stickers on a heart shaped box and bought her a fridge magnet. My mother doesn't really want or need anything. She would totally ignore her birthday. Garnet, Playmobile is still going strong. But yeah the teeny tiny pieces are a bit of a headache. But then so is Polly Pocket! Oh my I am flooding my house with teeny tinny things this Christmas! I must need my head examined! Oh wait! my Nuro already has my brain on disk, so I guess I can confirm that I am nuts, so I guess that makes it alright!

Yeah, my mom's that way too, but I HAVE to get her something anyway. Last year, I took her out and bought her $200 wig. She's only worn the damn thing twice! Maybe I should just give her a card that says, "Remember the wig? Happy Birthday again!"

Old people are hard to buy for, unless they need something replacing that you know they won't replace left up to them. Last Christmas we bought them a sandwich maker because they didn't have one and liked the toasted sandwhich we gave them one day and wanted to know how we made it. They have used it twice. I'm thinking I might buy them some new coffee mugs, because what they have is ancient and stained. Maybe those would get used?

Lol, you might have to sneakishly throw out the old ones and replace them, THEN they'll get used... Unless they're sentimental and go digging through the trash for their old cups! I'm... Half done my christmas shopping, I've just got a dish cloth and half a slipper left for my mom to finish knitting. I've gotten the dear boyfriend a puzzle and an art easel. My dad.... He's hard to shop for, my brother doesn't like gifts but I may find him something he needs... My "M-I-L" I got a fairy puzzle and we're getting her a kettle with an auto shut off because she's forgetful, and my friend I'm getting AL... My other friend I am stumped...

You're doing very well Nicole. Well I hope they get used.. otherwise there is always new hand towels for my mother and chocolate for my father. I'm quite sure that chocolate will get used.

So far, for my other friend I'm up to chapstick, and a calender (at her request) and I'm thinking of giving her a nice box of chocolates and a giftcard to her favorite coffee shop.
My brother: I'm stupmed, he's all in the attitude that stuff is evil and he needs no clutter which can be achieved by having barely anything... And he doesn't want to celebrate christmas *sigh, mutters* crazy 23 year olds....
And my daddy-o.... Still stumped, he's hard to shop for. If you buy him a gift, or anytime you buy yourself something, he feels the need to go out and get himself a gift..... men.....

Hey Nicole, just get your brother a gift card to a store with variety, like Walmart or something. I don't know if you have Walmarts there, but I'm sure if you don't, you likely have something similar. That way, he go in and buy whatever he wants. At Walmart, you can even buy groceries, so if he wants, he can consume what he buys to get rid of it.

My boyfriend considered that and I told him there was no chance in hell of avoiding christmas as I got his presents first! He has to face up to my tinsel when I hang it up round our flat anyway haha. I'm doing well, but I got pretty much all of it yesterday in one mammoth shopping trip. DVDs, calendars, chocolates, alcohol, jewellery, bath stuff, incense, New Moon random stuff for my friends.... *sigh* I was out shopping for 5 hours. But I did get myself two dresses, and if anyone in my family is stuck for me they can give me money for those haha. ;D Jo and Nicole, sounds like you're both doing great. Tina, have a hug for your pre-shopping panics. *hug*

Gah...thank God I don't have to shop for another 3 years (snicker). But...my mom is a bit of a pushover...and is going to end up doing an epic fail moment pretty soon. She's all wanting me to have something under the tree, after the piano... Meh, I even got TS3WA before Christmas. My goodness I'm a spoiled brat. I think I might compose her a duet of Oboe and Bass Clarinet. That's mushy, right?

That's actually a good idea, Tina. It'd probably be good to get him a gift card for groceries, actually. He doesn't have a job and he's gotta stop cashing in his savings bond and bursaries... So yeah! With my mom's help maybe I'll load on around $100 (months worth) for him.

Wow 5 hours Amylu, I wouldn't have a hope of being done so quickly. It took us 3 hours just to buy those 2 toys for the kids. Although I guess if you know exactly what you want it helps.
I was going to say get him a gift card Nicole.
