Boy, you think she could've told you that on the phone, instead of making you come all this way just to tell you nothing! (well, nothing but 'give us more money, and we still may not know anything)

Jilly. Well she did give me a script and she wanted to know how I was doing on the meds. But yeah, 3 hour drive for that, and I didn't even get my brain back!

Sorry to hear that, Jo. But that's usually the way it goes with doctors. *sigh* I have the same issues with mine. Well, I'm going to be away for a few hours today. Going to help my daughter move back home from college.

I have no interesting diseases or neurological nothings. The worst I had was asthma (that I outgrew)...

Well, you are lucky Pixx.
Something like that happened to a friend of my daughter's Anna. It was weird and came out of nowhere. It happened just in time to slow her down on getting her driver's license for fear of it happening while driving or something.

A seizure can be induced in most people given the right conditions. The right conditions may only be found in a lab. But if you simply have a turn out of the blue, I don't know how they couldn't investigate properly. Did they give you an EEG where they test your brain waves? Over here if you have a seizure you are disqualified from driving for 3 years. After that you need to be shown all clear on an EEG/ or on meds successfully for a year before they would even let you drive again. I guess I am totally worrying ahead. But what worries me is that with this is that it may or may not be genetic. But seizures often don't develop until the teenage years with this condition. So what if my daughter has it but isn't showing any seizures when she learns to drive? Well I'm told nothing can be done until she either has a seizure or if she wants a genetic test she needs to be 18. So my first thought is what if she does have this and has her first seizure while driving? I was and am a bit upset about this.

That is a troublesome thought Jo, but you have a LONG time before you need to seriously worry about it. Technology is advancing every day, so by then, there may be some better ways to make sure that doesn't happen or to know it won't happen.

Yeah, that fact it's a long way off is my only comforting thought. If I didn't think she had learning difficulties as well I would probably be less concerned, but I think she does. We have to go over and over the same stuff. Learning problems is one of the top side effects of PH.

Or, it could be a case of one's own kid not listening as closely to her mom as she may to someone else. If I were you, I'd try to look on the bright side of things as long as there is nothing too serious going on to feel otherwise. Hopefully the thing will bypass your children altogether. I guess the only to do is to just keep a good eye on things as they progress.

I don't think so. She doesn't focus at dance either. But yes lets hope it bypasses them. This thing has given me a heck of a lot of angst over the years.

I would imagine it would do me that way too. I feel lucky that I never had to worry about such things with my girls. Except for one thing, which I won't mention here because it would cause a bit of embarrassment to one of them if they saw it posted here.

Lol. I'm sure we could come up with plenty of embarrassment at their 21sts.

Yeah, if it isn't one thing, it's something else around here. Sometimes I long for the years when I could just kiss their boo boos and make it all go away. Right now, poor Crissy is all depressed and upset because of something going on with one of her classes at college. She's gotten a bad grade on a paper that she worked really hard on because the teacher is claiming she committed plagiarism on it somehow. She has an appointment to speak with her professor tomorrow morning, but the poor child is totally fraught about it. I feel so bad and I don't know what to say or do to make her feel better. She is the worrying sort too.
