I'm afraid to post... you all sound so literary I, on the other hand, love to read... but I particularly love to read books about serial killers... with the focus on the investigation, not the killing :-) I love the Alex Delaware/Milo Sturgis books by Jonathan Kellerman and the Prey series by John Sandford Alex Delaware's character is a child psychologist and Milo is an ugly, unkempt gay police detective. Together they are brilliant!!! Lots of side discussion that develops over the course of the books about Milo's difficulties with prejudice and their relationships with others and between themselves. I also like the earlier Patricia Cornwall books with Kay Scarpetta Nurse by day... serial killer book reader by night

Anybody read A child called it, by dave Pelzer. True story by the way about the abuse he endured at the hands of his mother, while his fire fighter father stood by helplessly and watched it happened after his feeble attempts to end the abuse failed. The second book is the lost boy, and the third book is called a man named Dave.

I'll bet. I HATE seeing things dealing with abuse, especially that of a child. That stuff ALWAYS pisses me off royally.

I'm reading Gone by Johnathon Kellerman, it's pretty good, almost typical murder mystery. My friend gave it to me for christmas.
Anybody know of a good horror book similar to Stephen King style? I'm desperate for a good one, but when I try to find one, I always get the ones full of sex with no point. *angry*

I have read one of his books, Shadows... I think it was called. I've also tried Bentely Little, he's a bit creepy. Richard Laymon, not even going to go there... *shudder* I like Edward Lee, but sometimes he goes overboard on the sex. :/ Do you have any other books by him you recommend?

I read every single one of them and they are amazing I guess I'd say my favorites are : Black lightning, Midnight voices, Blackcreek Crossing, In the Dark of the Night But they're all good. There are some sex scenes sometimes but it's not what drives the story.
