Oh man I am so frustrated right now! You CAN teach an old dog new tricks, but not without a LOT of effort, fussing, cussing, frustrations, and headaches...lol! I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0. It is not one of the latest versions of photoshop so it was made for Windows XP. I have had Windows Vista for at least six months. Although my Photoshop is not compatible with Vista, I installed it on my last computer before it broke and it NEVER gave me a problem at all. But after Harley built me this new one, I have had problems with it from day one. It seems to install just fine, but then it won't open because it claims to be missing a bunch of files. But I worked around it and got it to work somehow. It has glitched and goofed up twice though so I decided to download a trial version of Photoshop CS4 just to see if I like it enough to pay a very LARGE load of cash for it. Oh... my God.... !!! It is SO different in it's layout/setup from what I'm used to that I'm about to lose my freaking mind trying to figure it out! Why... oh why can they just not give people the option to have a classic layout of an older version that a person is already used to? Well, I have actually figured a couple of things out, but I still don't like the way they are handled because it seems to me to just be extra steps that are not necessary. *sigh* But the stupidest thing of all is that I can't figure out where the stupid smudge tool is on the darned thing and that has become one of my favorite tools to use! Grrrr...! I know it's there somewhere though...lol Okay, I'm done venting now. I just had to get that out of my system. This makes me wish I had just sat down and read a couple of stories I've promised to get to soon instead of playing with my own toys!

Poor you. Definetly take a break. I hate how they change stuff around. Would love to know who thinks that is such a great idea.

I don't know Jo, but they can't even leave the grocery store alone! Every time I turn around, they've moved things to different places in there...lol

Tina I have CS3 and I'd never ever pay more than 600$ for the thing (imagine 2 of the softwares we need for school are more than 6000$ each yes 6000$ no mistake there hehe and it's always freezing and all... stupid thing... anyway ) I thought of trying CS4 because at school we have CS2 and they'll change it for CS4 soon but now with what you're telling me I'm not sure I will. As for your smudge problem like I told you maybe you could use the liquify filter. I did some amazong things with it (like giving someone demons ears hehehehe)

Well I use the smudge tool just to blend edges to smooth them out, etc. I don't use it for anything fancy. I can't figure out where they've hidden the darned thing. Ah well, I'll either figure it out or toss it out the darned window!

I don't know Jo, but they can't even leave the grocery store alone! Every time I turn around, they've moved things to different places in there...lol Oh yes, supermarkets are bad for that. But with that I know why, they want us in there wondering around looking so that we will stay longer and buy more! But why they feel the need to change things around with computer programes and such I don't know. If it made things easier then ok, but usually it's just harder.

Well actually I was fussing about it in the grocery store one day and one of the employees heard me and told why they do that. The goverment makes them. I think it's because it helps make sure that they get rid of out-dated stuff while they're at it. I don't know why they can't just clean out the old and then put the stuff back where it belongs though. Maybe they have to move it so that the inspectors KNOW it's been moved and gone through and the store can't just say they did when they didn't...lol

thats the biggest lie I've ever heard! I've worked in a McDonald and they used a little strategy to get people's attention : moving everything around (adds in the menu, muffins, cookies when we had them...). And you know what?? It was working. People thought : Hey look something new and all of the sudden the thing with the new place was really really popular. So I'm sure they do that at the supermarket too. When you are searching for something but they moved everything around you have to check everything so you see things you don't need but wouldn't have seen and you buy it because you see it. Marketing...

I imagine that may be part of it too Mae! It doesn't work for me in the grocery store though because I just get confuzzled and aggravated when I can't find things...lol

600$ was for CS3 maybe CS4 is more expensive but these professionnal softwares cost way too much ... Tina it may not work for you but it works for a lot of people We can say whatever we want but they are bright. Even though I hate it when they change things ... (they keep doing that at the wal-mart, stupid thing ... can't they leave it the way it was? it was fine! grr hehe)

Sometimes that marketing thing where they put stuff up at the cash register works for me. I'll see it and then grab one...lol Oh yea Jilly... Photoshop is ridiculously expensive! CS4 can cost up to around $1200.00! If I want to upgrade from my old one to cs4, it will cost me nearly $700.00. Students can upgrade for about $300.00. It's highway robbery, I tell ya! The really screwed up thing is that most people don't even need all those fancy features that come with it. Seems to me that they could make a cheaper version for non-professionals who just want to play with and edit a few pictures, ya know? It's not like I'm going to be using the program to make myself millions of dollars because I do that sort of thing for a living. Oh BTW... I finally found the freaking smudge tool in this trial version.

photoshop is quite cheap compared to 3D softwares. The version I have is worth 6000$ they can do miracles though (when they work properly ... hehe)

Congrats with the smudge!
My mom always argues in super-markets! It's funny when she is yelling at the bag boy to put the bread and eggs on top!

Holy Cow. Guess I'll be sticking to my crappy sims pics! Don't they have cheaper photoshop -like programs that just do the few things you use?
