19 gigs? How on Earth does your computer handle that much? Free shopping is fun. Once when I was younger I dreamt some of my classmates and I were at a shopping centre and we could choose whatever we wanted and not have to pay for it. It was the best. dream. ever. S-l-o-w-l-y It takes about an hour from click to load to get into a house. part of my loading includes going to CAS otherwise it lags like a dinosaur if I just try and click on a house, just hangs there for 10 minutes doing nothing. So I go right to CAS as that allows me to load houses quickly and open clothes or hair faster if I feel like making a sim over. I think it's about 30 mins to hood chooser 5 to the hood, another 15 into cas and another 5 into a house. I try not to play large lots. Otherwise once it's loaded it runs okay. Cool dream! I'd like to do that with all my Christmas shopping.

Here's Charity at the moment. I'm not completely happy with her, but I don't know if I ever will be. I'm too much of a perfectionist and I keep changing her, then changing her back. It's the eyes (and maybe the nose?); they're not right, but everything else in bodyshop looks less right than these do. You can kind of see who she's supposed to be? I hope? My Susannah sim, one day will work in the way I want. I know what elements I need from each bit of bodyshop, but I got a bit frustrated with her faceshape today and it didn't work. I'm working on them both, I promise. *hugs*

I think the nose tip should be wider the bridge narrower with the eyes slightly closer. I'm not a sim maker except for my own game though. You could post her in the Creator feedback forum at MTS. Dragonfly who makes wonderful sims often chimes in.

I'll make the changes you suggested Jo, sounds like a good idea. I'm always too nervous to post at MTS, but I might have another go and take a look at posting her when she's nearer to being finished. *edit* Ok, here they both are today: My sims always seem to look mean in bodyshop.

Looking good. Must admit I have no idea what to do next. I just tweak face templates and say I'm done.

I'm getting stuck tweaking them, then changing my mind and tweaking them back. Katie, what do you think of them? They're your sims, after all.

Glad they look ok . How accurate do you want them? I'm unsure what to do with them next, do you want to try them as they are, or shall I make a couple more tweaks?

You can make more tweaks if you want to; I know how hard it is to get sims to like people.

I'm having to put your sims on hold for a week or so while I get my GoS gift done Katie, sorry about that. Here's what I've been working on for my Blind Date submission so far: They wanted formal wear that wasn't a wedding dress, so I've recoloured the 3 dresses on the left of this picture: In some of Poppet's Lonesome colours. They're all purple in this picture because that's the colour I'm most familiar with, so I test the layers and opacities in purple, then change it to the other colours once I'm happy. It looks like I'll be doing these in 9 colours each; I've made the other colours but haven't put them into bodyshop yet. The kimono on the right though, I'm not sure. This is the pink one that came with the base game, and I've got it white so I can recolour it, but...I don't know. I wanted to add patterns to it, but I can't seem to get rid of the maxis pattern efficiently enough at the moment. I've also recoloured the Base Game compatible version of the Ikea Heart in the same colours (all 25 this time though). Here's a selection: I've got a very long list of stuff to try, today I was attempting to recolour some Maxis lights. Oh my goodness is it hard to get the Lit state right! Most of my colour choices were great in the daytime, but too dark for when they're switched on at night. I've also got hairs to retexture, furniture to recolour, paintings to make, and walls to make. I want to do one more clothing set (or maybe two, we'll see), but finding meshes for teenagers that are simple, well made and easy to recolour is quite hard. If I struggle with anything, or want to have a try at more stuff, they also like facial hair and eyebrows. That one could be interesting!

I like the 3 dresses in purple, not so sure about the kimono. That is a LOT of stuff! Do you need that much for a blind date?

I agree -- your date is going to be soooo spoiled! They all look good so far. Could you maybe recolor the built-in patterns separately from the rest? You know, purple-and-silver, purple-and-gold, and so on? I'm guessing the patterns aren't in an alpha or a different, easily removable layer... Language quibble: The white dress is actually called a qipao and it's Chinese. (Qipao is Mandarin, I think. A cheongsam would be the exact same thing, but in Cantonese.) Kimono are Japanese. You can tell the difference coz qipao hug the figure like their life depended on it, and kimono are designed to make women look like they have no figure at all. But no matter what you call it, it's looking good, and I'm sure your date will be very happy!

I had a feeling it wasn't a Kimono, but didn't know what else to call it. Thanks esme.
