Maxis Make Over nominations

Oh good I was hoping you might hop on board Lorin.

How about we start with Strangtown then? Do we have all the ones we want to make over?

So far we have had Johnny Smith, Ripp Grunt, Chloe Singles, Ophelia, Olive Specter and Erin Singles.

Now trouble is I have played Strangetown and mine are not only all made over, but not teens. If I pull the neighbourhood folder and make an empty one will that regenerate? I've never done just a single hood before, normally it's the whole folder.

I think I would like to add the Curious brothers to that list.

I think that pulling the Strangetown folder to your desktop will cause the game to make a new one. Are you thinking of adding all three Curious brothers? Now *that* will be a challenge!

I think it's pulling the contents from it not the folder, as I pulled Veroniville and Riverblossim? Over a year ago.

They need a make over.

Question: Is the regular (non-themed) makeover supposed to take into account their backstory? If so, I've got some reading to do!

Sure we can add their names in Ashley.

Well at least look at their personality and aspiration for the theme as it's meant to be that sim in that situation. So checking their back story wouldn't hurt.

We might have enough sims just doing Strangetown. I think due to how many defualts I have I might have to make it 3 as even my alien skin is defaulted these days.

Yeah, pulling the folders does nothing, I'm not sure what you need to do to make them regenerate, possibly pull the whole of the EA Games/Sims2 folder from My Docs?

Just the basic Maxis backstory that pops up when you click on the house would be fine, it sums them up quite well most of the time. I can type them up if need be.

If we narrow it down, we could do...3 or 4 from each 'hood? Or is that not enough? I'd love to do some Pleasantview make-overs too.

We could do each hood, taking a break in between them. Or I put up a poll and we do 3-5? from each hood.

3-5 Sims from a 'hood (with a break between 'hoods) with a poll to decide which ones to do sounds good to me.

And wouldn't default alien skins still count as default skins? So limiting it to two defaults (say, eyes and skin) still sounds workable, as long as their declared.

Should we say which EP/SP/source the items came from, or is that too much like work? (For example: "Hair: Basegame, outfit: OFB...") I'm just thinking about how when you see pictures of celebrities on the red carpet, they always tell you who designed the gown and the shoes and the purse and that.

Trouble is then I will not have access to certain hairs either. Might be best if I just pull my default skins for this.

I'll put up the EP details if I remember to write them down when I'm in game. Trouble is, I usually get distracted and forget. I still haven't written down Elsa and Jacob's personalities for my LJ...

Agreed, Strangetown first! I'll locate my spare one and make sure it's ready for copying over.

Also, as I don't have all the EPs and SPs, I've downloaded EP-free versions of some of the outfits, like the dresses from H&M and some of the outfits from AL. Am I ok to use these, since they're technically Maxis, but they have a cc star in-game for me?
