Quick repost (from Tumblr) of the robots I made for my Steampunk neighbourhood, Ada and Charles.

Oh wow how did I miss this? Kind of cool but also slightly creepy. They're a bit realistic an a strange kind of way.

Yep, the thing that creeps me out is their teeth are solid gold, so their smiles look really strange. I made them as skin 1 sims before putting the robot skin on them in bodyshop. Here's the sim I uploaded to pixel_trade's founder post: I'm really pleased with how she turned out.

Oh so they aren't servos? She is really cute. So is it a whole hood of sim robots?

I have Servos in my game with the same skintone, but they have sort of mask-like faces. If it was a story, these new robots would be the next model up from a Servo, but in reality they're just sims with a skintone. It's a Steampunk neighbourhood, so it's Victorian with robots and gas lights, and all that stuff. I have about 9 sims and 2 servos so far. The robot shop is meant to be selling servos to the sims, but the townies keep buying them! Thank you both for the compliments, Olivia is uploaded here, in the founders post, if you want to see.

I've been thinking about my neighbourhoods and what I want to do with them this morning. My Steampunk one I'm pretty happy with, some of the buildings are still works in progress, particularly the park on the left hand side and the library, which I only started yesterday. Most of the buildings are deco rabbit holes, and not actually functional, but it really makes a difference. It actually looks like a town. I need more sims in this neighbourhood though, I think I have something like 9 households, most with 1 sim in, and a couple with 2 in. There aren't any babies, toddlers, children or teens, currently. My eco neighbourhood I'm not sure about. It feels very big and empty, and I'm regretting adding Bluewater to it, as it feels redundant to add any shops or buildings when it has a shopping district attached. But I'm really pleased with a lot of the houses, so I don't really want to start it again. And it took so long to place that wind farm! But then, I haven't really felt inspired to play it lately. Mind you, there's only one child and two toddlers in the neighbourhood, so maybe what I need is a bit of family sim time?

Wow Amy those towns really look amazing! When I make themed hoods, they tend to look nothing like what I want them to look like...

The hood deco really makes the steam punk hood. Maybe the other needs some other kind of deco?

Good idea, Jo! I have some deco converted from the futuristic sims3 EP (not entirely sure of its name), I wonder if that might work? *edit* So I apparently forgot about the already decorated left hand side of the neighbourhood. That's how big and empty it really is! I think I need a lot more sim houses, especially on the right hand side there. And possibly some community lots that aren't in Bluewater.

It's pretty though and hoods always need room as the babies grow.

You're right Jo, and it will need more room when I let the sims in this neighbourhood have babies, haha. It's wedding season at the moment, with 3 or 4 sim couples all engaged, so it should all get going pretty soon. I started making a park today, and I have a list of comm lots to build when I get the inspiration to make them. That bit could be a while in the future, though.

I built a library for the eco neighbourhood, but got carried away with the children's section, so I haven't finished the rest of it yet. The silly thing is, there's only one child in the whole neighbourhood at the moment! It was fun to decorate though.
