Extended another week so Lorin can get her computer fixed. Entires due by Sunday the 22, 10 pm my time. (Saturday morning the 21st for everyone else I think) Rules: 1) Required shots: Please provide one overhead shot showing the layout of your room and one shot of each wall. 2) You may sharpen your pictures slightly or add text but please don't over photoshop them. We want to see how it really looks in your game. 3) Please post the pictures of your room on this thread under a spoiler. 4) If your pictures are huge please make them a little smaller. If it goes off the page and needs a slider to see it all- it’s too large. 5) Make sure to state which category it falls under. TS3, TS2 with cc or TS2 cc free. *If the first room is cc free all the rooms of that house must be cc free. Please don't have some rooms with cc and others not. You are free to place the house a second time and do one house with cc and one house without. 6) If you are entering more than one category please make each one a separate post. 7) You may post up to 10 pictures per entry. We all love to see close ups of special areas. 8) You may keep your defaults in if you have them so long as everything isn't default. Just mention what it is and what it replaces. (Added this after remembering my cafe curtains are defaults) >cough< Addition: Just for interests sake, take an overhead to show where you placed your room. This can be posted at the end of your entry but doesn't count as part of the ten picture limit. This is more to do with my own curiosity then anything. Once all entries are in a poll will be made that can be voted on. The number of votes cast will be kept tally of. If you should not post a room for some reason you will simply score zero. If you have good reasons for being late please pm either amylu or myself and we will see about an extension.

Sims 2 No cc (Default curtains used. Replaces the white cafe curtains) Country KitchenThe Pleasant's kitchen ended up being rather small due to the stairs and doorway placement but still has all the needed amenities for some lovely country baking. Can't you just smell the bread? ~ ~ ~ Coming into the kitchen from the main house area. Turning left is the wall that leads out to the dining room. Left again is the wall leading out to the main part of the house. Left again is the wall that can be seen coming into the kitchen from the dining room. Overhead shot My 'for interest' shot I really don't know if that was a wise placement or not. I think I placed it better on the second house.

Sims 2 cc For sims who like to socialize as they cook, this is the kitchen for them. Main wall you see coming in from outside. Wall to the left you see coming in from the dining room. Left to face the outside door. Left again to the wall out to the rest of the house and dining room. The highchair near the back door. Plant area corner and a cook top that magically bakes as well. What every kitchen should have. *Hint check the deco objects on the counter. The overhead shot with the ceiling light taken out to give a clear view. The for interest shot of my room placement. This is on the other side of the house from my cc free one.

I LOVE THE SECOND KITCHEN!!! (I really love countertops instead of proper dining tables, hehe.) The first kitchen was awesome too; the country decorations come together very nicely! I usually don't even look at maxis wallpapers, haha, but the row of roosters on top somehow looked really appropriate (and cute). ^^

Thanks Ning. ;D Must admit I like the second one better too, the cc always adds that better touch. Most of the first kitchen is Season ep stuff, that one had some decent things walls and objects.

Yep I agree with Ning, the 2nd kitchen is the one for me! I notice on a lot of those kitchen remodel/house-hunting shows that it's all about being able to converse with your guests while you're in the kitchen cooking. also the layout and space reminds me of something I'd do for my mansions

Both of your entries look great, Jo! Maxis fangirl that I am, I can't decide which one I like better. Anyhoo, here is my entry with Maxis-only content. TS2 no CC:I have no idea why the smoke alarm is ceiling-mounted now, but it's the only one in my catalog at the moment. I'm assuming either funky CC or a forgotten default replacement? I like the Seasons cabinets, but they can be overpowering in large doses, so I chose a more contemporary one as well. I feel they allow the rustic ones to pop in a nice way. I don't have a proper overhead shot, I hope this will suffice. I wasn't up to the task of a major floorplan overhaul, although I do plan to change out the ridiculous bathroom placement. I didn't take a picture of the fourth wall since it's just unfinished space that will probably become part the dining room. If I can get my computer problems resolved early enough, I might submit a CC version like Jo did.

That looks great Lorin, and better then my cc free one. The two counters blend nicely. You don't need to do anything for the overall picture-It can look like a ship wreck as it doesn't count in the vote. It's just so we can where in the house you placed the room, because I think it's interesting to see how we each tackle this, being I think a tricky house. I can tell that is where the diamond tile was. Fire alarm on the ceiling looks much better, I wouldn't mind a default for that. Are the white counters default pet ep ones? I can't pick them.

Great kitchens so far! ;D So many things to like about all of them, I'd happily have any of those in my house. And I saw that vegemite on the counter Jo!

I used those counters in my AC, but with a white or silverish top. Going by my Prima Guide, they look like the Fat City ones from Nightlife. This is the first time I've used the dark brown top, but I'm pretty sure it isn't custom.
I like how you used those pretty arches in your no-cc version. And I love how you used that little nook in your CC version for the high chair, and the cooktop instead of a stove. That was one of the things I missed from Sims 1, I always wondered why they never made one for Sims 2.
Oh, and I hope you're still planning a TS3 entry, I'll be interested to see that as well!

Not as nice as everyone else's, I'm afraid. TS2 with cc(I kind of had to...) It seems to me that Daniel wouldn't care about the kitchen; it's Mary-Sue's domain. And Mary-Sue strikes me as the kind of quiet unassuming lady who would go for tasteful inoffensive neutrals -- at least until she picks up a knife and adds the blood of her ungrateful family as an accent color... Before After When you first walk in To your right To your left Looking towards the dining room Custom content used: ceiling tiles by JWoods from MTS, kitchen cabinets by CTNutmegger from MTS. (I couldn't get good pictures without the ceiling tiles, and then I might as well use more cc since I've already used some. I'm trying to keep it to a minimum, though.) Hooray for laptops, yes?

I was sort of wondering myself if we're supposed to decorate with the Pleasant family in mind. Yours fits my vision of Mary-Sue to a "T", Esme, even down to coordinating with her suit! I love the overhead cabinets, they really add more realism to a kitchen.
I was a bit concerned you wouldn't be able to post, so hooray for laptops indeed!

It's just easier if I decorate with the family in mind. Otherwise, I'm floundering about for ideas and the whole doesn't hang together. I do like those cabinets. Mary-Sue wouldn't be one for clutter out where everybody could see it and criticize her, I don't think. I probably won't be able to get to the computer store before Tuesday, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Aww don't say that esme. Your's looks lovely too and it does match Mary-Sue's clothes! You can make it over in any style you like. It doesn't have to be for the pleasant’s at all. It could be for a modern party goer or a family with 6 kids, an elderly couple; whatever helps you come up with a theme. My cc free house will all be county themed while my cc one is going to be for a family with lots of kids. I don't think the twins need a highchair any longer... *imagines Lilith stuffed into that highchair.*
