Thanks Esme. *looks at queue and wonders if she was crazy* I'm guessing you don't care too much for the place? You don't seem to post there anymore. I am also a judge in that build contest and its gone on for ages. So I have to finish that today and my parents are coming over. I will try to get to one today esme, probably later tonight. Sorry to be tardy.

I was taking a lot of things far too seriously on MTS, and had a large number of people on ignore, so I stopped going. I think it was more a symptom of how unhappy I was with my whole life than anything, but then I got my new job and moved halfway across the country, and went through a pretty hefty adjustment phase, and got away from simming generally. Perhaps I will ease back in to MTS later this year, we'll see.
And hey! No apologizing! There is no such thing as being tardy when it comes to my updates. *nods firmly*
I did some playing yesterday, picking the household I could play without building or decorating anything, and guess what I decided halfway through? I need to build and decorate a community lot, because reasons. So I will do a little bit of that tonight, and probably a lot of it tomorrow evening. (My dad has his surgery tomorrow, and there is absolutely nothing I can/need to do, and I'm going to need to displace the energy somehow.)

Well I am up to date now, I posted on your other story this afternoon. It's easy to take things wrongly when life is getting you down, and I know that job you had was horrible. That's good to hear things are better now. Sometimes I load my game and don't play, I've done that numerous times.

Congrats on becoming a queue mod Jo! Heading over to LJ now Esme, and I'll make a note to myself to check on Sunday/Mondays. Hope your Dad's surgery went ok. *hugs* The window people think they are finished. *sigh* We've still got one door and one window that aren't straight. Nearly there, I guess?

My dad is recovering nicely. I went over to see him yesterday, and he was up and about for four hours, which was a major improvement over the past few days. In the past, he would have had a huge incision, with tons of stitches, but with robotic surgery, has just has six little incisions with no stitches at all -- they're so small, they're just held together with superglue!

Thanks Amy. Hope they get that mess straightened up quickly. Good to hear Esme. My FIL was the first patient here to have key hole surgery, medical techniques are amazing. DD has been sick with a bad head cold and now I have it, not fair, it's summer! if anyone is interested I uploaded something other than a lot! A sim on MTS.

What a cute sim, Jo! I didn't even think that might be by you, since you're so firmly a builder in my head. Congratulations on uploading your first sim!

I had said that in 2016 I would try to upload a sim or a pet on one of those new resolution threads, so it was close lol. She's one of my playable founders that I made for Coral Bay and they said in Discord chat that she was interesting so I gave it a go. I've been pleasantly surprised by the good response. I'm not really good at seeing if a sim is worthy of upload or not.

Hey guys, hope you're all doing ok. *hugs* Mum is now on a dementia ward at the hospital, so life has been hectic for us all for a few weeks. We've also just about sorted out the arguing and legalese relating to the dodgy window and door on the house, so we're almost finally at the stage where we can decorate!
My friend Loz let me have a quick play-through on her sims4 game this morning, and I have to say, it's a lot better than I thought. I might even buy it at some point this year.
I'm trying to get my sims2 game to the point where I feel happy to upgrade it over to the Ultimate Collection, but it means playing a fair bit of CtoF first, to get the babies all grown up so I can save the sims in case it doesn't work. So, I'm trying to upload my pictures and keep the story/challenge going; hopefully a few posts from me coming up in the next week or so.

Oh, Amy, I'm so sorry about your mum! *hug* If you need someone to listen, you know where to find me, even if I am several hours behind. Hooray for almost being ready to decorate! And glad the gaming is going well, at least.

*hugs* Thanks Esme, that means a lot. *hugs again* To be honest, she's in the best place at the moment, and it's easier on my Dad as he was caring for her full time and running his business from home. But it's still not easy to see her in there, and she's so young, bless her. I visit every weekend at the moment, and days off when I can. I found the original pictures of the house today and I am amazed at all we've done so far. It might not be decorated yet, but we tend to forget just how bad it was when we bought it! Yeah, I haven't played sims since October, so it's been nice to get back to it and enjoy myself.

Amy, I am so sorry. ((hugs)) This must be so hard given your mums age. My mum is about the same, confused but they are still in their own home with meals on wheels coming 3 times a week.
If anyone is interested I will be holding a foundation building challenge for fun over on MTS starting in a few weeks time.

*hugs* We found out at the weekend that Mum is now going to be in there for 6 months, which feels both like good news and bad news. It's good for stability and for getting her better, but she's inside all the time and it's going to be very strange planning events knowing that she won't be able to go. I had a lovely visit on Saturday though, she was beaming smiles at me and giving me hugs.
I now have sims4, and I'm enjoying it. There's a lot to learn, but there's a lot that they've finally improved on from sims2. I made a short post in the ts4 board, but I'm still learning how to use the game, so I'll add more later.
Hope you're both doing ok! *hugs*

Omg you guys.. the things that've happened @dd since December! I feel so bad about not dropping in more.. @esmei: Modern surgery is amazing sometimes; glad your dad is doing better. Also, that move explains a lot about where you went for awhile. @amylu: Hated to see that your mum's in the dementia ward at the hospital! Have they been able to do anything for her? (This feels like a dumb question) Sh#$ builders are a massive problem here too. I look forward to seeing your progress! @jo: Colds and flu have been making the rounds over here too. I finally got a minor cold about the time I was saying I was amazed I hadn't caught anything. I'm a pro at jinxing things. :/ BOY did I ever call it, about being busy, but no luck getting snowed in! Jan. was just busy, and then I had to up and do a birthday. XD February I thought I'd finally concocted a plan to get out of my current job, but the BIG boss @work would only give me that month to make the change, which under current job-availability conditions is NOT happening, even when I managed to get Mondays Off for Feb. I almost got my resume completely redone by the end, tho, while juggling work and being depressed about being stuck where I am. March has finally slowed down but now I have to get time to drop off paperwork for income tax season. BUT I did actually get some decent game time this month! Sheesh..

Finally getting back on here lol, my computer wipped all my cookies a few days back, had real trouble getting back onto some boards.
How is everyone doing?
yesterday I was sent to the specialist optometrist because my regular one thought I had a retinal tear and would need laser surgery. Lucky the specialist thinks its an old hole, really tiny, and so long as I have no symptoms and get it checked annually I wont need surgery yah.
Amy, I hope they can help her, it may depend on whats caused it. My mum had to go into a mental hospital some 18 years ago, got better and has been on medication ever since.
We are going to try something called magnesium Threonate, it helps with memory. Mums memory is pretty bad, she only stays in her own home because dad is there to look after her.
