Eek. I there somebody you can complain to? Like, the department of health and human services or something? Would they do anything about the understaffing?

I doubt it. It's well known country areas are under staffed. Now my Dad has lost his wallet with $700 and his drivers licence. Oi!

Geesh! D: That's horrible! I hope he just misplaced it somewhere in the house, Jo!

Steve went over to his house and helped him look and found it in his long pants pocket. *phew!*

I'm glad he found it! Man, that sucks about your mom. I'd be complaining to someone, you better believe it!

Good news-and sorry I forgot to update. Mum was allowed home yesterday afternoon. She isn't allowed to do anything much which is driving them both crazy, because she is still trying to. Surprisingly she wasn't put on any heart medication apart from aspirin therapy. So hopefully they know what they are doing!
Tina they don't want to complain, but I think they should have spoken to the head nurse. It was one of the younger ones that did the shower.
Thanks you everyone for your prayers and thoughts.

Glad to hear your Mum's home, even if she's not allowed to do what she wants yet. Hopefully the lack of medication means the heart's done its bit and is back to normal? Lovely to hear good news, and hugs still here if you need them.

Thanks for the update, Jo! I'm so glad your mom is back home again. Even if she is annoyed she isn't allowed to go back to normal activity right now, I'm sure being home again is a great relief for her.

That's great news, Jo. Asprin therapy is very common for that issue. It thins the blood, making it easier for it to flow through the veins, arteries, etc. It sounds lame that the tell you to take a baby asprin every day, but it's really a very good thing.
As for that shower incident, it's never too late to write the hospital administrator about what happened. If they have an omsbudsman there, that would be another person to direct a letter to. (that's a fancy word for patient advocate - they usually handle/address all complaints)
