Update: Apparently she did have a mild heart attack. They gave her some morphine last night so she slept well. I don't know much more then that yet. Dad’s been up there this morning and we’ll go this afternoon. He says she seems quite cheerful and okay with things and just wishes she was home to do things! Ha! So typical of my parents.

Glad to hear she's feeling better, and at least they know what happened to her. That's typical of Mums, wishing they could get better for normality to ensue. Hope the visit goes well for you, and hugs to you still. ;D

Now we just have to see how long they are going to make her stay, look like it will be at least another day or two right now.

Thanks for the update, Jo! I am so happy to hear she's feeling better... and quite fiesty as well, seeing as how she is anxious to get home and resume her normal activities. Kudos to her for her strength and awesome attitude!

I missed the update - I'm glad it was a minor one, and it's good that they're keeping her for observation, even though she'd rather be home doing stuff! (Mothers! Lol!)
I'm sure she'll have to change up her routine a bit, and will probably be put on asprin therapy now, but now that they know the issue, she can make changes to lessen the chances of it happening again.

I think they weren’t overly happy with how much oxygen she had in her blood which is why they are keeping her in. The moniter by her bed says it's about 90-92. I know they have started her on some kind of heart tablets but I don't know what as there was no nurse to ask. Seriously understaffed up there. They had no extra pillows and the one I spoke to the day before said she had 30 patients.

EESH! That's a horrible ratio. Did your dad bring her a pillow from home? They let us do that here - we can bring pillows, blankets, whatever we want, but I know certain wards don't allow that.

Yes they don't mind. I told Dad to do that. She was complaining of backache and I told him to take a rolled up towel to put behind her lower back but he forgot that too. *sigh* I have a worsening cold now so I'm not sure if I should go up or not. I would hate to give mum my cold. But if I don't I'm going to send Steve up with a rolled towel in case my dad forgets again. he's very absent minded. Mum is the sharp one. We have a shortage of Doctors and nurses out here, guess they all want to live in the city.

Jo, this is all so sad. However, I'm glad to hear your mum is getting better. She sounds like a very strong woman.

Thanks Sawyer. We still don't know when they will let her out and nothing has changed today.

Sorry to hear she's still stuck in the hospital, Jo. Hopefully she will continue to improve and let her out of there soon! My thoughts are with you and your family. *hug*

Good thinking to send dh up with some things for her, just in case. I know they often won't let us visit here when we're sick - I guess it depends on the ward they're in.
I hope she gets to come home soon!

Well maybe it's to do with being a country hospital. She is in a 'ward' with two beds and no one is in the other bed apart from one lady for one night, so while she is a public patient it's almost like being private. Only thing is a Doctor hasn't been to see her for at least two days according to my Dad. Not sure if I should believe that or if he's just muddled up. But being so understaffed a nurse nearly burnt her in the shower in her haste to be done. So it’s entirely possible.
