Bill and Sookie's World Adventures

I was thinking the same thing Tina was, and took some pics to show a bit of the game to those who don't have it yet.

I'm using my True Blood sims, Bill and Sookie. After their first two trips abroad, I created an adventurer, like Tina. Mine is the famous "Tom" sim from the great cc hair thread. I darkened him up a touch, and thought he looked a bit mid-eastern, so I gave him all the adventurer traits. I don't have a pic of him - I was sure I did - but I'll grab some next time.

I'll start with China, because I go there the most.
Here's the cemetery, where I didn't see one oriental ghost.



I wondered if the foreign catacombs might hold more secrets than our own, so I sent brave Sookie in to find out.



She DID find a heart keystone to be used on later quests, and a few relics were scattered right outside the cemetery entrance.

Bill went on the first adventure, but again I can't seem to find the pics. When he completed it, he took some time to fish, and caught some koi. He was able to take them home and stock their pond with them.



I also had Bill and Sookie train at the academy to learn martial arts. Here's Bill with the practice dummy. We were able to buy one on a return trip, and now he has one at home, too.




Since I had them both learn the skill, they were able to spar with each other at home as well, earning more skill points.

Next up was France. This time, it was Sookie's turn to quest. Here she is, breaking down a pile of rubble to get to the hidden door.



The puzzles are pretty easy like this for the most part. I've only encountered a few that I had to really puzzle over. This enormous maze was actually easy, because you don't have to navigate it. You just have to click on the destination, and she gets there on her own.




Since Sookie got the quest this time, Bill went to the necturary and learned to make necter. Here he his stomping grapes. We also purchased one of these to take home.



This was when I made my new adventurer, who I named Ahkman. Ahkman's 1st mission was in France. He had to find Gerard Morel and interview him about history. He had to make friends with this snotty French fellow before he could get his interview. (which he did) And then got the wish to invite Gerard to visit at home. (which he did)



Hot-headed Bill is a bit put out because Gerard is teaching Sookie a song. (she learned one from a shop keeper when she was in France, but there's 2 songs you can learn.) You can see a tiny bit of dark-haired Ahkman to the right. Gerard actually sings pretty well, and with a French accent.

As the visit progressed, Ahkman got the ability to ask Gerard to move in. I was curious, so I let it happen, and the guy was instantly a member of my little family. The move-in screen came up, and I found out Gerard has a wife and son, so I moved them in, too. After adding an upstairs to fit the newest members, I thought I'd show off some of the foreign genetics... I present the Morel family:

I've been putting off Egypt until I got a longer visa, and Sookie got one after her third quest. So since tomorrow is my last day of work until next Monday, I will be packing Bill, Sookie, and Ahkman's bags for Egypt sometime soon!

I am so not into this game . Poor DH bought the EP for me for Christmas (It was on my list), and I have no desire to try to install it.
1. I know it's going to be a hassle because I haven't updated in...forever!
2. I have been So sick I hate looking at the computer screen.
Oddly enough, looking at Lego Indiana Jones was OK

Nice pics, thanks for sharing, Jill! Well, I've been to Egypt, but not France yet...lol. Now I've been to China about three times. I am LOVING this martial thing! ;D

Nellie made friends with the general merchant in China and ended up inviting him for a visit and they sparred. He kicked her but, but she had fun anyway...lol. Now they are best friends!

I took some more pics I'm going to post tomorrow. I'm glad you went to and shared France because I'm too busy with China to go there just yet...lol

France just doesn't seem as scenic to me, and there doesn't seem to be as much to do. I wasn't able to find an orchard, and I'm not having luck getting the other varieties of grapes. (there's 6 - I have 2) Although that French fella really does sing well. After getting a load of his wife, I think I should've done him a favor and left her in France! Lol!

I love China, and have been there a bunch of times now. I wonder if anyone there sings/teaches songs too, or if that's just a French thing?

Sorry you're not feeling well, Holley! What a terrible time to be sick!

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that, yes, people in China do teach songs. I'm surprised you did't know that since you spend so much time there...lol. Everytime I click on one of the locals, there is an option to 'learn song', although I haven't done it yet.

Also, in my thread, I think, you mentioned something about waiting until you had a higher level Visa to visit Egypt. I have some bad news for you. The Visas are all separate and you have to earn them for each location...lol. If you open your little adventure book by clicking on the icon, you will be able to see all that and your progress so far.

Well how hard does THAT suck? Sookie finally got hers by finishing one of those quests that are a bunch of little ones that link together. I think it was the museum in France. She had to check a room, then report back. She'd get her points and stuff, then the guy would say, "Thanks. Now would you like to find out why it's making that noise?" and she'd do that, check back, and get another, all in the museum.

Well, it does suck, but it's logical when you think about it because it seems to be based on how well the people of that country have gotten to know you.

Nellie just got her first Visa point in China and was able to stay for five days the last time she went. She's been doing one of those 'chain adventures' too and just finished it. Then she picked one from the board where she had to collect three pieces of Jade for someone. Here I was goofing around searching the ground blindly for jade and I even visited the catacombs. I didn't get anything there, but mauled by a bear or something..lol.

Finally I discovered that the freaking Jade is pointed out to me on the map in town view! By the time I collected all three pieces, it was too late to deliver them and I was whisked back home! Ah well, first mission upon going back to China is to deliver the Jade.

Wow, the French certainly look, um, interesting. Nice to see the other countries here and hear about the different quests, although WA sounds a lot harder with the visas and quests than I thought it would be!

Actually, it's easier than I thought it'd be. I was afraid the adventures would be too hard, but most of them are pretty easy and fun. I'll get more pics up this afternoon. I have to visit with the inlaws for the evening, so I'm hoping to get some time in before I go.

Ok, Here's where we left off... The Morel family had just moved in with Bill, Sookie, and Ahkman-Rah.

This is the adventurer Ahkman-Rah. He lives with Bill and Sookie. This way, when 1 sim returns from an adventure, another one from the house can go while the first one waits it out. Ahkman moved in and taught Bill and Sookie how to raid tombs in foriegn countries in order to save the precious relics inside from falling into the wrong hands. Bill and Sookie were glad to help.

Ahkman loves Egypt, and has been training hard in hopes to conquer a mummy. There are many things the couple don't know about their new friend. Does he have alterior motives?


Ahkman trains hard in athletics, martial arts, meditation, charisma, and music, all of which not only better prepares him to raid tombs, but to train other sims as well. Here he's training his friend from France, Gerard Morel.


Speaking of the Morels, Bill and Sookie were not thrilled with Ahkman inviting this French family to move into their home. They liked to spend time alone with each other, and since Ahkman was usually on an adventure somewhere, renting a room to him was no problem. Ahkman paid for renovations to increase the size of the house with the spoils from his treasure hunting, but the point was that Bill and Sookie should've had the final call. Sookie tried to make it work, even trying to give Edith a make-over.




Bill knew the living arrangement were hardest on Sookie, with her loner trait. Bill tried to make special time to be alone with Sookie. They took to dancing together in the kitchen, just to be alone.



When Bill found her playing in the sprinklers, he knew the Morel's had to go. He decided to take action.




He found Sookie in her garden and suggested that as soon as she finished tending it, that she should take a nice trip to China to visit her friend, Lin Hua. Sookie agreed.




Next, Bill made Ahkman tell the Morel's that they had to go, since it was Ahkman's invitation that brought them here in the first place. Ahkman wasn't happy, but covered it quickly and did as Bill asked. Maybe there was a way Ahkman could still keep the Morel's close. He had to find a way to keep them near...



He offered to pay for the home that the Morel's moved into, just down the road. Bill thought it was suspicious that Ahkman had all this money to throw around, but he let it go, knowing how thrilled Sookie would be when she got back. (I swear that is the car that they came with in their inventory.)




It was late when Sookie arrived in China, and although she missed Bill, Sookie was glad to have a quiet evening to herself before starting out in the morning.



Her first stop the next day was to see Lin Hua. Lin is the food merchant in the market square. They talked and laughed, catching up until customers started to arrive.





Sookie wasn't sure if she would take on an adventure, or just enjoy the Chinese Villiage that she'd come to love. After speaking to some of the customers, she caught wind of a small matter that she was sure she could help with.




After talking with the villiagers, Sookie decided she could perform this one small quest, and spend the rest of her three days just enjoying the countryside.



Some light excavation, and she was on her way.


She met with the special merchant the next day. Seeing as her Visa level had risen, she was now able to purchase goods from her. This was her lucky day, and she was able not only to purchase a very useful item, but enough to share with Bill and Ahkman. (The Morel's can just get their own!)



Sookie spent the rest of her trip sparring with the locals,


...and quietly meditating in the many gardens. Soon it was time to go home. Just the thought of all those people in her home made Sookie tense all over again.




But when she got there, Bill had the best surprise waiting...the Morel's had moved on! Sookie threw herself into Bill's arms giddy with relief!




As a matter of fact, she was VERY relieved. And VERY grateful.




Bill seemed a bit surprised at just how grateful Sookie was, but being a very smart man, he shut up and decided to go with the flow.




The next morning, a happy and relaxed Sookie called her friend Lin to tell her the happy news of the Morel's departure. When Lin mentioned she had some vacation time coming, Sookie didn't hesitate to invite her friend to stay in her new, now-empty guest room.

While they awaited Lin's arrival, Ahkman called Bill & Sookie out back. He told them that if they were serious about exploring the really ancient tombs, they would need to practice their skills even harder. He also told them that he'd purchased them a useful gift to practice with on his last trip to Egypt.





A snake Charmer's basket. Ahkman informed them that if they were cursed by a mummy, the only cures were a visit to the Sphinx, or a Snake Kiss, which they needed to have the proper practice to perform.





Sookie also took this opportunity to present the others with her gift - the Sands of Knowledge, which she purchased from the special vendor. These sands are said to prevent confusion when in the many mazes of the tombs.

They both looked expectantly at Bill, waiting to see if he found anything on his travels to help with their ultimate quest.




Bill plunked something on the table, and stepped back. Sookie and Ahkman leaned in to look, looked at each other, then looked at Bill.
"Avornalino grapes." Bill told them.
They continued to stare at him.
"They're very rare." Bill explained.
They continued to stare at him.
"I was in FRANCE. They make NECTAR. What do you want?"
"They're very nice grapes." Sookie said, taking them to her garden to plant.




"Do they repel mummies?" Ahkman asked.
"No. They're just grapes." Bill replied.
Ahkman nodded, popped one in his mouth, and said, "Wow. Really good, Bill. Good job."

When Sookie was done planting, Ahkman had them all start practicing skills before Lin showed up.



Since he didn't have any musical skills, Bill was sent to raise his martial arts skills.




While Ahkman,




and Sookie learned to charm the snake out of the basket.



Later, Sookie joined Bill to skill up their martial arts,




While Ahkman worked on his meditation.




While the couple moved up to new belts, Ahkman moved into zeneport mode.




Before they knew it, Lin had arrived. Sookie introduced her around, and Bill started cooking up a welcoming batch of eggrolls from a recipe he learned in China.



It didn't take long for Ahkman to notice Lin.



He made his interest in her very clear as the group ate together, even though Lin had mentioned that she had just begun a relationship with Zhang right after Sookie left China.




Ahkman told her he understood, and invited her to see an American movie, just as friends. Sookie was angry that Ahkman was stealing away the little time she had to visit with Lin, but she didn't want to ruin Lin's fun.




They arrived at the movies a bit early, and decided to walk to the nearby park to wait. Ahkman asked Lin to teach him a love song from China to kill the time.




Lin sang very sweetly, and was very patient while Ahkman tried to learn the song. She was surprised to find herself attracted to him, but she knew there was no future with a foreigner.




When the song was over, she found herself looking into his eyes. They seemed so hypnotic. She blinked, shook her head to clear away her romantic thoughts that suddenly flooded her, and pointed out that the movie must be ready to begin. They headed back to the theater.




Lin let Ahkman put his arm around her in the movie theater, thinking that she would never see him again. She wanted to enjoy the moment, but she wanted him to be clear that she didn't want things to go any further.




Before she could speak, she found herself drawn to his eyes again.




They seemed to call to her, "come closer."




Their lips were just about to touch, when Lin blinked, chasing all the chaos from her mind that seemed to explode when Ahkman-Ra looked at her with those eyes. She broke off, telling him firmly that, while she liked him, she wanted only to be friends.

Ahkman told her he understood, apologized, made a joke or two to lighten the mood, and left without another word.





Poor Lin was stranded there with no idea of how to get back to Sookie's. She called Sookie, who came and picked her up.
Sookie apologized for Ahkman's actions, explaining that she just didn't understand why he would act this way. She hoped this wouldn't ruin her friend's long awaited vacation, and she definitely planned to have a few words with Ahkman-Ra.


But Sookie never got the chance. By the time she and Lin returned to the house, Ahkman was gone. Lin was so distraught and embarassed that she took things too far with this man she hardly knew, she hopped the next plane home. She assured Sookie that it wasn't her fault, but Sookie couln't help but blame herself for letting Ahkman take her friend out alone.





Ahkman needed some time to concoct a story for Bill and Sookie about his behavior with Lin, and he decided the best place to lay low was Egypt. While he was here, maybe he could continue to gather some of the things he needed on his own. He wanted to have everything ready and in place before he brought them in at the end.
