I feel really stupid posting this, seeing as I have never written a story, but...

What do you guys who play the Sims 3 think about a joint legacy?

I think we have enough people here to fill the ten slots. And if not, we could always recruit people from LJ and whatnot.

Tina, this would be good for the board, it would be getting new viewers from LJ, assuming that's where everybody would want it posted...

So, tell me your thoughts...I'm writing a sample "first chapter", that we could use, or we could not use.

Here's the sign up list, I'd be delighted to go first, but if somebody else feels like taking that spot, go right ahead.

OK y'all, I have revised the list to put Jo first, Holley second, etc. I hope the changes are OK for you. If you don't like your new spot, just say so and we'll see about giving you a more agreeable place on the list.

Sawyer, I have left off for now, but if you'd like to rejoin this in the future, you can be added back onto the list, if there are any spots left by then. As of this edit, spots numbers nine and ten are still open.

I think it sounds cool, Sawyer, but I'll need more detailed info before I jump on the banc wagon...lol. You know... rules, what sort of legacy, how will the 'jointness' of it all work, etc?

I know some folks do those 'round robin' legacies, which is basically what this would be, but I've never even done a 'regular' legacies, much less a joint one. I'd be willing to give it a shot if it isn't TOO difficult.

Yeah, I've never done a legacy either.

The jointness, we could upload just the heir, or we could upload the entire house, with just the heir...I'm not sure, that's why I posted this thread, for your guys' input.

As for what kind of legacy...Well, anything historical is impossible in TS3...so, again, any ideas?

I think we'd have to upload the house so that all his stats, etc would remain in tact because if he was just a sim from CAS, he'd lose everything.

As for other ideas, I'll have to leave that to some more experienced legacy players, or any other great idea person. We'd definitely have to keep the CC to minimum because that stuff doesn't upload with lots/sims like in TS2.

But another way to play a joint legacy, is to upload JUST the heir, and yeah, he'll lose all his stats, but you can put that back in. This way, you'll have to start from scratch every time.

I don't mind doing a round if we don't have to do a story. I probably just wont follow all the family around to work and school because it makes me sick.

Well I would certainly post pictures and commentary. I'm saying I wont do plot. But if that is necessary then yes you will have to find someone else to fill the slot then. Sorry i am stressed out on this uni chapter right now, wishing I had never gone over to plot and ready to throw it out the window!

Poor Jo... I'm sorry this chapter is being so rough on you. I'm with you, though, on not having a greatly-involved plot for this. I can only have one plot at a time, and right now, my brain is focused on Relic Versus Romance as far as plot goes.

This has been the hardest chapter yet. I really must scale back the plots. But you're really talented at writing plot Tina, I bet you will just do it without even knowing you are. I see how fast your writing the relics story, like it just pours out. While for me It's like beating my head on a rock half the time. Once it's done though I'm happy I took the time and sweat to do it though. Weird I know.

Lol, hopefully if you guys do sign up for this, you're plottiness will have died down in your stories by that time, and/or you have gotten used to it.

So, is it okay if I put my name up as the founder/starter? And that I start writing the actual story?

It's not all that easy for me, Jo...lol. It took me longer to write six pages of plot than it did to write 45 pages of not plot.
