Yay! I got mine today-been playing for awhile just looking around. Odd thing was that non-default custom skintones didn't work. But now the regular skintones are working like they should. I can't wait to see the vampires.

Mine says it needs the latest patch, and of course, my launcher says I already have it. I downloaded an update to the EADM, but still no go. I can't find the stupid patch to put it in manually. ANyone know where I need to look?

Yes, the EADM is the black and orange one. I'll never get this game to install. I've been trying all night to repatch, and after a half hour load, they tell me it failed because it's the wrong region.
I give up.

What about uninstalling the lot and starting from installing from the base game in order. It's just not right that they can put stuff out like this.

I think she did install everything from the base game, it's only when it comes to LN she's getting problems. I've just installed all mine from the base game, I hope I don't have to uninstall again when I get LN

I found a link to a website that has clickable versions of the patches, but I don't know what region they're for: www.simprograms.com/the-sims/the-sims-3/the-sims-3-patches/patches-the-sims-3/The one at the top of the page is the new one that gives you the body sliders. (they don't come with the game, they come with the patch) I may have to uninstall/reinstall everything. Do I copy my savedsims folder to keep everyone I have in CAS? I have to get WA back from my niece - I lent it to her, since I didn't need it to play anymore. I copy/pasted a whole bunch of suggestions from other simmers on the BBS & printed it off to take home. I may not mess with this until the weekend, because it puts me in such a terrible mood. I didn't mind we-doing the EADM & all the patches for Barnacle Bay, because everything worked when I did that. This time, I'm getting errors when I try to patch, I can't even get in the game at all, not just one hood, etc.

Yeah you have to copy the saved sims. I also copy my saved games so I don't lose any progress

Boy, I hope this works. I wish I was home so I could try it out! In the mean time, I found a fix for that error code 12 that was such a problem before. I don't know if it will help anyone now, but it sounds like it might be useful knowledge to keep around; Instructions Turn off DEP 1 Enable an exception in DEP for the Sims 3 by right-clicking "Computer" and then left-clicking "Properties." Data Execution Prevention is a service that protects your PC from viruses and other attacks. Some programs and games will shut down or display errors when DEP is turned on. 2 Find "Performance" and examine the DEP settings under the Advanced tab. If it says, "Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select," Click "Add." 3 Browse to the Sims 3 executable. This file is found at "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe." If you're a 64-bit user, look at "C:\Program Files(x86)\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Game\Bin\TS3.exe." 4 Click "OK" to confirm the change. If DEP is set to "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only," leave it as is. This setting doesn't affect your game. Other Possible Fixes 1 Pause the game each time you save. There's no explanation from Electronic Arts as to why this works, but many players have success avoiding Error Code 12 by pressing "Pause" and then "Save" or "Save As." 2 Check the system requirements for the Sims 3 and its expansions to see if your computer meets the requirements. There's a list of minimum requirements, but the recommended requirements are more important. Just meeting the minimum means the game will run but just barely. Expect to encounter any number of problems, including lag, crashes and error messages. If your PC isn't above the recommendations, upgrade the weak components, if possible. 3 Delete Custom Content from the Sims 3 folder in "My Documents>Electronic Arts>The Sims 3>Mods" or "C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3>GameData>Mods." Also, if you've downloaded anything from the exchange, start the Sims 3 Launcher and go to Installed Content to remove them. If the custom content is important to you, you'll need to remove a little at a time to isolate the problematic file. Follow the steps in the Resources link to remove a virus-like doll from the game that may also cause this error. This doll has infected many games even if you did not download it directly. 4 Click "Save As" when you encounter Error Code 12. It won't stop the error, but will usually salvage your game and allow you to save. Type a new name in the box, and try again if it doesn't work the first time. 5 Start the game over from scratch if the error has corrupted your saves. The quick way is to delete the entire Sims 3 folder described in Step 3. The next time you load the game, this folder will be re-created with clean neighborhoods. Alternatively, try to back up an old save as directed by EA Support. Read more: How to Stop Error Code 12 in the Sims 3 | eHow.com www.ehow.com/how_6724773_stop-code-12-sims-3.html#ixzz13a630GU6

OK, I have the game FINALLY installed, after buying it on Monday (that is Sunday to the rest of you, over seas!)it has taken this long to get it sorted! I still have not put the mods folder back. I am just going to test the new hood,to see if it is working! ~PS~ If I'm not back in a couple of hours you know it worked!
