 I still have not installed it yet, as I am still baffled over the patching codes,none of them match mine,is it because my PC is working on a 32bit program?(MY PC is a 64 bit chip,but I want to upgrade it to Windows7 64!) ~ As soon as I sort the patching out I can install the game, I am extremely frustrated at the moment,because of this! Karima, when are you installing 64bit? If it’s anytime soon I think you may want to hold off on installing your games first until you install the 64 bit. And to answer your question about the codes, it all depends on your game version. My version is the international (SA version) all through, so they patch it differently for each country. There’s also American versions, and the UK version I think. So you’ll have to check your game version on the cover to know which country’s patch you’ll need. BTW, it won’t patch if you install the wrong country’s patch. Hope I make sense. |

That's important - I never even thought of that. I believe the links I gave her would be for the American version, so maybe, once you have re-installed the EADM, your launcher is the way to go for the right patches after all! Good catch, Val! I'm so inept at this stuff!

Thank you Val! Mine is a NZ & Australian copy! ~ And I will have to re-install the games when I get Windows 7 (64bit)but for now I just want to play! I get it early but can not play it,I guess that's justice!? ~PS~ Still downloading the last game patch!I have fallen asleep twice!lol!

Cool, I'm just reinstalling my Sims 3 now, after cleaning out my system last week. No late night for me though  Can you believe it, the place I preordered my game from has no idea when it's being released in SA, but the rumor mill is it's on the 29th, so we'll see then  The net is extremely slow on my end, so if I don't reply to threads or PMs you'll know why |

I spent last night pulling my mods folders, etc, in prep for today. I also installed Fast Lane, which my dh bought me yesterday - he said "I know you're getting the new one tomorrow, but if I remember right from the old sims, you have to get all the packs and install them in order, right?"
Of course, I told him he was absolutely correct & thanked him from saving me from a huge disaster.
*I figure I'm going to hell anyway, I might as well enjoy the ride...

 I know how that is,do I really need the last patch,it has been downloading since the beginning of the day,(From daylight?  ) & it has only downloaded 24kb & the patch is 39.6mb? ??(I am going to be here for a week!)

Downloading from EA,& it just zoomed,it is at 554kb? ?? ~PS~ Because my net is on slowmo,it keeps stalling(EA sends a message that they lost connection!)Just typing this it is at 832kb!

where should the mods folders be now? Mine was in WA folder, but I placed it there after I reinstalled and the CC didn't show. I tried it on AMB, it wouldn't show either and I tried it on both folders at the same time, it's still not showing. Help. I need to check my Slade and Stefanie  |

Mine is installed in Sims3,I tried it in the other folders(WA/AMB) but the CC did not show,so I put it back in the original place,but we will see after I get LN installed as my mods folder is on my desk top will I load the patch & game!(the system I run is XP32bit!) C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods ~ Make shore you have your *Resource cfq*installed!(CC will not work without it!)

OK, I'm sure there's a better way, but that happened to me when I got AMB. I had to make a copy of my mod folder & a copy of the resource .cfg that goes with it. I took one and went in thru My Computer, Program Files/EA/Sims 3/AMB. I took the second one and put it in thru My Docs/EA/Sims 3.
Every time I add cc, I put a copy of it in each folder. Like I said, I'm sure there's an easier way, but this one worked for me.
45 minutes to go!

It's sorted. I put it in the documents folder for sims 3 and not the program files folder. I found this thread www.techno360.in/install-mods-in-sims-3-ambitions/And guess what? Stef finally made her 1st simbot without any cheats ;D Yay ;D I think the latest patch added some features from Late Night cos Slade is a Scorpio and Stef is an Aries. They both keep rolling the want to buy a hot tub, and they can form groups now  I think I'll turn twinbrook chronicles into a Simfic 50 challenge But we'll see |
