Well, totally worth all the work in my book - they're fantastic! *whips out HS cheating dog soapbox HS could've called her after they did the horizontal bop & said he had a family emergency & wouldn't be in touch for while. Youssef would never have done such a thing! Now, had I known about the disowned stuff, maybe I wouldn't be so harsh, MAYBE... In the story, does Nellie know all that? *steps down again Man, I love our soapboxes! Handy little suckers! Lol!

Thanks! I will likely bring it up in the next chapter somehow. Karima understands all this stuff. She figured it out after Ho Sung met Nellie in the tomb a few chapters ago....lol. Poor Ho Sung just screwed up where Nellie was concerned because the feelings he had for her were totally new to him. His guilt after the fact sort of paralyzed him for a while and he is only human, so he handled things badly. Plus, he has redeemed himself a bit by being there to save her from Gustav. Who knows? If Youssef had been forced into a loveless marriage at a very young age, he may have done the same thing.

OMG! I was right with jill about seeing Youssef's butt, but not wanting to comment because f his situation. Also, the mention of how "gifted" he might have been in the nether region too....
I knew jill would still have a problem forgiving HS, and I am also of the opinion that I would rather see her w/ Youssef...but, It's your story and I won't hate you...too much... if that doesn't happen.
GREAT STORY TINA!!!! AWESOME!!!!
i know it's not even done yet, but it is AWESOME!!!!!!

Lol! ~ Jill ARE you reading the same story? ?? ~ OK, in the very beginning (in CH 3)she first tried ringing him or contacting him, coming face to face he was unable to explain himself but did tell her he needed to have a talk with her, but as yet did not know how to explain himself, so the time was not yet right! to explain (I think CH4,but don't quote me! lol!) but when he was ready to explain, Ho Sung did try to ring her several times, when he was ready, to explain himself! but she saw fit to not pick-up the phone & answer it & that was before she found out he was married. she only found out that fact after she had not answered the phone to Ho Sung, then silence, the phone stopped ringing & his disappearance, her friend Zhan had said everyone knew about his disastrous, loveless, marriage, but it was totally out of character, because Ho Sung was a good & Honorable man! (CH6)

I can't help it! A good, honorable man doesn't cheat, and doesn't lie (by omission) about it. My sweet, perfect Youssef would never do that! Lol!
In my humble opinion, he had no business getting into bed with her at all. If he knew he loved her, he should've gone and started the divorce first. Or if he wasn't sure he could handle being disowned, then he should've laid all this out to her and let her decide. It should've been Nellie's decision if she wanted to give herself to a man with other commitments, and HS took that choice away from her by not being honest.
It's just a personal thing for me. I have zero tolerance for cheaters.
I can't believe for a minute that he would travel the world to come to her home, and not realize what would happen there. And even if he caught 'caught up in the moment', after the fact should've been confession time, not high tail it home to the little woman time. He left her without a word, waiting however long it was until he felt like calling. He didn't once think about what she must be going thru on her end, or he would've manned up and handled it.
I know HS was never in love before, and this was all new to him - plus his way of life never left the posibility of happiness as an option for him. So I can see when he saw a way he might be happy, he was caught up in the moment and didn't think it thru. I believe he is free now, so maybe Nellie can forgive all the deceit and secrecy and choose him.
But Youssef never lied to her. When he had a problem telling her something, he simply told her "I can't tell you right now." And always told her as soon as he could.
That being said, I'm completely open to however the story unfolds.

I LUG! & totally agree with you, about cheaters! ~But, unfortunately, I can see it from another perspective, as I have had friends whom were devastated by arranged marriages before they were even born or on their birth to be betrothed to total strangers! I went through it with them, but I could not comprehend a law or religion that would condone this, & then tell those children, that, when they are teenagers, so as they get use to the idea, & to keep them pure for their intended!

Well, Jill, I can certainly tell from your attitude that you've been hurt terribly in the past by a cheater. The fact is, we are all human and we all make mistakes. The fact that we are human also gives us the ability to forgive so that we can move on and get past it. I know from my own experience that if you don't forgive the transgressions against you, you are not truly over it and all you're doing is hurting yourself. It's not hurting the jerk who hurt you one bit. If you think about the way things were in the old days, especially in a culture that traditional have arranged marriages, it's a given that if you don't stick with marriage, you've dishonored your family. I think I even mentioned that right after Ho Sung cornered Nellie in that tomb. That's why he took refuge with the monks. He 'lost face' with his family. So, when he realized what was happening with Nellie, he was confused, frightened, and feeling guilty and ashamed for allowing himself to become emotionally, as well as physically involved with Nellie. Like Karima said, he did try to contact Nellie and talk with her once he had figured out a way to do so, but she wouldn't talk to him. After that is when he lost it and decided to leave his house and wife behind... because he IS a good and honorable man and he couldn't live with what he had done. Also, he did give a thought to Nellie and what pain he may have caused her. That was a big part of his guilt as well. He is only human and he made a mistake. *throws my 'in defense of Ho Sung' soapbox into the fire. LOL I won't be needing that anymore because I've said all there is to say, I think. We each have our own opinions and feelings and no matter what they are, it's all good. It certainly makes life interesting! Thank you, Karima! At least I wasn't on my soapbox alone...LOL

I'm Team Jilly on this one. My thoughts exactly. He had no business going there to start with. I'll give a more coherent response after I've read the chapter but I've always made my thoughts known about the cheating business.

Ooooh, shame on you, Val! You're not supposed to be reading the comments until after you've read the chapter! You're apt to run across something that spoils it for you.

I know, I know...but curiosity was just killing me. And if it helps I only read Jilly's comment. I just couldn't resist...her spoiler was shouting out my name...It's all Jilly's fault

Shouting out your man? Now I'm confused. Be careful, though. There is a LOT said in this thread that could spoil the story for you. I think I'm going to have to seriously hide somewhere once you read it.
