Oops, I goofed on the shipping costs! Actually, I think it was like $10.00 each to send them to SA and Austrailia, not $20.00. It would have been like $20.00 extra apiece if I'd had them insured. I'll fix that in my above post now. Also, I don't mind absorbing some of the cost myself because I look at it as sort of a Christmas gift to y'all. It's just that I can't afford to 'foot the bill' for the whole thing again this year. As it was, I'm surprised my DH didn't give me hell about the expense last year, but he, surprisingly, was quite understanding about the whole thing....lol

Okay, the cost is reduced nicely if the shipping is $10, 00. But I have a suggestion. Why don't we create the hotness calendar template instead and if anyone wants to print it out they can do so at their own cost? Then this way the only cost incurred is the use of the PC for whoever will be taking photos, etc ???With the world going green I'm all for a virtual calendar. If it can designed for my desktop that'll be even better Just a suggestion.

Printing it yourself could be an option too, but actually printing it out and getting it right is not as easy as it sounds...lol. I had a few trial and error goofups with facing the pages the right way, etc to make the physical calendar turn out right for printing correctly. When I did it, there was not an actual template. The pics and the calendar template I found online were totally separate things. I would not know how to create a 'template' with everything together already. If we were to do that, the calendar would likely be half the size it is now. We could always make a poll and take a vote on it. Doing a virtual calendar for a desktop would be a whole different deal. The layout would be totally different. You'd have to either have all twelve months on one page with the pictures, which would be very small and hard to see, or you'd have to do twelve desktop wallpaper backgrounds with both the pic and the calendar template on them. To me, a physical calendar and a virtual calendar would be like two totally separate projects altogether. So, it would be a good idea to decide on one or the other, unless anyone has any ideas on how exactly to go about it. Personally, I would likely never use a desktop calendar because I almost aways use the same background. I love my sexy Damon wallpaper and I'm not ready to give it up! But I know that some people change their desktop backgrounds all the time, so that may be a good thing for those folks. You have definitely given us some 'food for thought' Val.

Well, suggestions are good! That's how we get around to working things out...lol For the record, I am definitely going to create a 'physical' form of the calendar this year and Karima has hers 'in the bag' already because she was awesomely kind and generous enough to 'donate' the binding kit and she sent it to me at her own expense, and I know that wasn't cheap. So, come hell or highwater, Karima will definitely be receiving a copy of DD's 2011 Hotness Calendar of her very own. I'm sure some 'virtual' forms of the calendar could be possible as well for those who'd rather go that route. The only thing that needs worked out is all the details so.... thoughts, suggestions, and ideas are always welcomed and very much appreciated.

LOL.. not lucky. She sent materials I never even asked for. It was a total surprise to me that she did that. I sure couldn't allow her to have sent that stuff for nothing could I? lol Hopefully I can actually learn how use it. I'm sure I can because it can't be like rocket science.

Well it is 11.17pm and much too late to be doing maths, so I will guess it's going to cost me about $50. DH won't be pleased, but I would like a paper Calender. That must have cost you a ton to make and post!

Oh man, Jo... it shouldn't cost THAT much! At least I wouldn't think it would, but I don't know what the exchange is between USD and AUD. I have a currency converter link saved somewhere in my favorites, though. I'll have to look into it. Like I said, I don't mind absorbing some of the cost myself because it is sort of like a Christmas gift to you guys... my wonderful, loyal members! I'd say it cost me a bit over $125.00 to cover everything. It wasn't exactly free, but it could have been worse if I hadn't found a really great deal on the photopaper I used. The ink was the WORST!

Lol. The exchange rate has been good. But you said it cost about $30 for you? In which case it would be $33.36 converted. But I wasn't sure if there were other costs.

Well, the ink was actually the largest expense because...well, it always is...lol, but I was lucky enough to find a great rebate deal on the photo paper I used to print it on where I could buy one pack and then get another for like a penny or something. Then it was a couple of bucks each to have them bound, which I can do myself now, thanks to Karima, so that will cut back the cost a bit too. Hopefully I can find some good paper deals again, and if the pic resolution is higher this time by taking print screen shots of the sims 2 models instead of using the in-game camera, it will cut back a bit further on the costs if the pics look good printed at normal quality instead of best quality. All in all, it's not a terribly high price to have a true custom calendar. Some of those nice calendars you can buy in stores are terribly expensive and anyone willing to pay for one can get it, unlike something like this, which is 'exclusive'. I'd say my costs last year, not including shipping was just under $20.00 apiece, but I made seven or eight of those suckers, so that adds up pretty quickly...lol

I feel anyone who wants one would need to "contribute" for sure. Of course, we could also take a "collection" for those who might not be able to afford it.

Since there's 'proper planning' for this year's calendar and it's started so early I suppose everyone's wishes will be met and of course it's only fair that whoever wants the calendar should contribute.
