I don't get it? as there is already beaches in the game,do you mean as in lots as in build a lot that has a beach,I have already built a lot LIKE that but it is not attached to the sea, it is more of a beach front lot is that sort of what you mean, it would be good for them to swim in the sea again, but I am sure that will come as they add on with each disc! PS~ forgive me I'm a tad tired!

Beach lots are my favorite on the sims 2! From the features they listed, it doesn't look like there going to add beach lots this time. OHMIGOSH I forgot beaches came with BV. Oh man, I really hope beaches are included. Well, okay, beach LOTS. I loved swimming in the ocean. That's all I want. I can plop my simmies down on a beach lot esque and it's similar but I want them to SWIM. Know what else would be awesome? If they could swim in the river in Riverview. That would be awesome

Yeah and they should be able to go skinny dipping and shock all the locals.

It looks like they're planning on another "Riverview" type downloadable thing as well. (Online features to be named later) The Sims 3 World Adventures Expansion Pack POSTED ON 08/01/09 05:30 PM
The Adventure is Near… Take your Sims on the adventure of their lives with The Sims 3 World Adventures. Guide your Sims to acclaimed fortune—or potential doom. Take your Sims to exotic destinations to hunt for hidden treasures. Uncover new skills, experience new personality traits and garner rewards, if your Sims succeed. Explore ancient tombs in the pyramids of Egypt, master martial arts in the Far East, and discover rich culture and famous landmarks of France. Adventure is on the horizon — what will your Sims discover?
FEATURES
Accept challenges, find treasures, discover what’s lurking in hidden caves and more. Explore famous landmarks in China, Egypt, and France. Learn new skills like photography and pursue new opportunities. Meet new Sims from exotic locations and share their cultures. Customize your Sims homes with new styles & artifacts from their adventures. Get $10 worth of free SimPoints for The Sims 3 Store, and additional online features to be announced.
And I hope this will mean exploring not just vacation spot caves, but the existing caves and catacombs as well! It doesn't sound like they're doing anything with beaches, but I sure do hope so. What fun is a beach if you can't use it?

Interesting. The more I see of sims 3, the more I feel like it is a separate game to sims 2, rather then a forwarding of the sims 2 concept. Now it sounds even more like a role playing game. Fun, but not really to me at least, the sims.

WOW. That is completely unexpected. Those are the kind of video games I play on the consoles. I'm not sure if I want my Simmies to be a part of that or not. Very interesting, and lots to think about! I exhault Thee, Tina, for finding this info!

Oh yeah, I saw it a few days ago. Thanks Holley! Sorry, I just haven't looked back into this thread lately. I lost both my babies this morning when we dropped them off at college, so now I'm just feeling sort of lost right now.

The mini games sound repetitive and tedious, IMO. How could they make mummies so boring? On a positive note... This intrigues me. I wonder if the sims in these regions will also be spawned with distinctive clothing and physical appearance, or if this only applies to EA created characters. If it's the former, it opens up the possibility of applying such constraints to a normal hood.

And the new basement tool - 4 stories deep? Quote: You'll also have to search for triggers to reveal hidden doors or stairwells, and this is something that can be used in the regular game when designing houses. That could potentially create all sorts of new adventures in Sunset Valley or Riverview as you could download user-made houses with all sorts of secrets to uncover. Another piece of good news for house designers is a brand-new basement tool that will finally make basement making about a billion times easier than it is currently. With it, you can create basements up to four stories deep that cover the entire breadth of a lot.
Other travel regions will have their own themes. In France it's nectar making, which is the equivalent of wine for The Sims. This involves learning how to cultivate up to eight different kinds of grapes, stomping them into wine, and more. In China, it's martial arts, and there have been all sorts of improvements to the animation system so that the fighting movements are fluid and natural.
While you can't live in these new areas permanently there are many ways you can take them back to Sunset Vally or Riverview. Of course, you might meet foreign sims and marry them. Or there are a new skills and abilities that you can bring back with you, such as nectar making (the sims version of wine). And you might see foreign tourists wandering around your home town taking pictures. That's another new thing, as your sims can now take pictures that you can then mount on your walls, much like the paintings they create.
And the mummies must be playable: quote: And this wouldn't be a Sims expansion without a nice, supernatural element. This time around it's mummies from Egypt. These guys (and gals) might come out of a sarcophagus and chase after you. You can get cursed by the mummies, in which you must go to the Sphinx and perform a ritual or else your sim is doomed. You can also become a mummy; the downside to that being that you move very slowly.
World Adventures is still deep in development, but EA says it'll ship on November 17.
And Jessie...Am I hearing your sim can learn Ninja skillz???
