It's simple really... it's even more simple than finding your Programs and Features so you can look at your installed programs.

You just go into 'edit town' and then click on the little icon on the left that says 'switch active household'. If I have to, I'll post a screen shot for those who just can't seem to get it without one. Come on, People, it's NOT rocket science!

The thing I don't know how to do, is bounce back and forth, edit town? I know all that stuff, It's The household that is the thing that I'm trying to understand!! When you switch back and forth?

Lynda just remember if you switch to another house to take everything out of their inventories first! Otherwise it all disappears!

OHhhhh... I just KNEW someone would make me do it!

Okay, look at the picture below:



THIS is the 'edit town' screen. The place circled in RED is the button to 'change active household'. Once you click that button, another box will pop up that asks if you're sure you want to do that. Once you click the check mark, a warning box will pop up, I think, that warns that you will lose the wishes of the sims in your curren house. Once you click the check mark again, the hood screen will allow you 'roam' around until you click on someone else's house. If you choose it, THAT will be your new active household.

There isn't much more to say on the subject than that. Look around folks! EXPLORE that game a bit and you'll be able to see all this good crap for yourselves.

Well I would have to be the biggest fool,SORRY BUNNY! I could not understand what you mean by four slots as I have twelve households & that is in one hood, I just to-day finally uploaded Riverview successfully! I am playing Don at the moment in that, the thing is that what I hate about Sims3 is of my own doing as I do not like the fact that they do not connect & you can not play with your own Sims as in they can not meet each other, & the game re-sets every time you play a new neighbor!

So previous households that you have worked hard on are back to the beginning as if untouched!(which they are!) & now I find out I have got the wrong end of the stick & I am playing it wrong! that you can interact with other houses,so therefor I must be the dumbest Simmer around, why did I not know this? Am I THAT STUPID?? I hate the game because of this, & find that it is not that way at all! I get bored playing these unconnected pudding people, & then find that it is not that way at all!

I wondered how they made friends when the are a separate entity, a stand alone, that is why I have so many in play as I started to play the families in the game, six lots are my Sims that I made, but they do not know each other, as my Sims do not exist to each other or have no way of meeting each other as they are all in separate hoods! So now how do I fix this so they can meet? :-[SORRY BUNNY!

Karima, don't worry different things about the set up totally get me muddled too. But Tina did take a screen shot look up the posts in this thread. You go to edit town and then change active household. Just make sure you take out everything from there inventories as those do dissapear.

I read all that Jo thats why I'm a dumdum! After finally installing Riverview, all my CC has stopped working so now I will have to see what I did there! As I have had a few head aches with my net, but mysteriously all the problems have vanished after re-signing with Telstra! as I was sick & tired of my Optus net disappearing each month, & always no download points even though we did not download anything in the times we were off line! I have a bad feeling that Telstra is behind it all?

Telstra Ack what a pain they are!! Call up and get someone with a foreign accent who doesn't know left from right, get transferd and disconnected, redial and so on and so on. Dh wasted 2 hours trying to get onto someone who knew what they were talking about.

When we upgraded to a faster plan we were assured of no interruption of service... after 2 days of interruption they put us on dial up saying it was our end...Turns out it was there end at the exchange.

Then we found out once it was all running but constantly going down that we live too far from the exchange to really use the faster plan so we went back to what we had before.

Okay Karima, here is how you fix it so that they can meet.

1. Decide which version of the hood you want to keep.

2. Go into each of the other hoods, go into edit town mode, click on the lots you want, and save a copy of your households to the bin.

3. Once all the familys you want are in the bin, delete the saved games you don't want anymore. You do this on the main menu where it shows all your hoods.

4. Enter the hood you kept and go to edit town mode.

5. Look in the occupied tab of your lot bin and place copies of your families down in the hood.

Now, all your sims are in the same hood and can meet each other!

Thank you so much, Tina, this Airhead will get onto it & sort it out! next I have to sort my CC out as it just stopped working even though I have not touched it, maybe it is a ram problem as I still have not upped my ram & it is running on 2GB, even though I think the minimum is 1GB, & now since installing RV my game is crashing! Ow! & Q? were does the EA store stuff go in through (C)drive/programs/Electronic Arts/Sims3 Root folder or through Documents? as they have been showing up in my packages folder that is in the Mods folder in my Sims3 root folder! Thank you so much for all your never ending help!
