There are now a bunch of mods in place to help customize your sims. There are default skin replacements and some slider hacks so you can completely customize your sims
There is now a mod to make your own patterns as well, but you would need to be able to use a vector program *eyes glaze over without any comprehension at all* and there are a whole bunch of steps to take before you end up with a new pattern.
With these changes, you can have a much better looking sim.
I'll try to post some pics today after I finish my laundry :-)

I downloaded a skin replacement but I didn't notice a change at all ... I thought I did at first but after a little while I think they looked the same as before ... I don't know
Can you post a before and after picture?

I've been reading a LOT about the sims 3 and as of now, I am a bit confused as to how downloads work and how to install them. It is VERY different from the sims 2 and a bit more complicated from what I understand. Hopefully, once I get the game, I'll get a better grasp of it all.

tina I promise it is easy once you know it  just have to install a resource.something in your ts3 folder and create a mods/packages/ folder in ts3 folder and voila  when you install it and you download things if you have question feel free to ask  |

You are right, Mae! Yesterday, I installed a couple of mods. I now have no zzzz's when I sleep, no music notes from playing the guitar, and no annoying pixelated squares covering my simmies when they bathe. ;D I found all that cool stuff at MTS.

;D I did notice that HP custom skins at MTS was more detailed even though it was quoted as being a first try, & more to come! I will be keeping an eye out for that! |

I can't wait to see what else is out there. I'll be interested in seeing the sights at TSR, since they're supposed to be exclusive. I haven't gone there yet. I was a member many years ago, before I found out about free sites. I wonder if you'll have to be a member to browse there now...

 Yes they have about three hundred new things for the Sims 3 over on MTS (not certain if they are still using the two?) anyway Jill, I did leave a message for you some were else that if you need anything just ask & I will go get it for you at MTS, I like the face slider mod, No ZZZZZZZ!,No-sparkles when you build, No music notes & as I mentioned before the CC skins! ;D

Tina I installed the same mods plus some others I cant remember LOL but the default skins are nice. The guys have chest hair ! yeah more manly LOL |

LOL.. I haven't tried out any custom skins yet. I read about the sliders, but didn't bother with those either yet. I'm okay right now with the ones in the game. Oh I'm sure you won't have to be a member to browse TSR, or at least not a subscribed member. They want you to browse and see what they have. I just added ALL the stuff from The Sims 3 store to my game today. I got it all for free from Maty! |

okay I'm going to get a chest pic be right back!! Okay he doesnt seem as manly hot as he is supposed to be but I think it's a little better than what it was.  I have to say I love his boxers LOL my simself has the same hehe |
