hey I was wondering, is it possible to put mods and stuff in sub folders?? I tried but it didnt work but I don't know if it's only me who couldnt find my things or what hehe

LOL! Well, I know you're straightened out on the link now. That subscription thing is just a joke. If you follow the right link, you'll get in from there anyway.  I haven't read it totally thorougly, but I believe that just stops single parents from having babies. Story progression in the game actually is what lets all the major stuff happen. If it's turned off, the sims are supposed to only to minor, everyday stuff like get jobs, go to work etc. So that miod is not necessary and not a good idea if you don't want almost everything that's in it. As much of a JMP fan as I am, I am even hesitant to download that whole thing in one big package right now. |

 Karima, are talking about the stuff from the store, and if so, what happens when you double click on the sims3pack files? When you double click each file, it should open the launcher, and then another little box will pop up, saying it it installing. When it finishes, the bar will be full and then you just click 'OK'. At that point, you should be able to see a picture of that item in the launcher, meaning it installed properly. If all the above is not happening, then something is seriously wonky with your game. If you are talking about mods/hacks, then you have apparently done something wrong. I need you to slowly, calmly, and clearly explain to me exactly what is happening in order for me know if I'm able to help.

OK, I put the mods folder in my Sims 3 folder, with the package folder in the mods folder, I tried that, & of course it did not work so took the packages folder out of mods/cause I read some were that sub-folders do not work for Sims3, anyway I put the cfg in there & when I left the game,it was sitting on my desktop & I did not put it there!I left it in my Sims3 folder! AS for the MATY stuff for the Sims3 store,I have tried four times to download that file & it times out or disconects, at the moment there is no free downloads avaliable on the download site were it is stored, so I will keep trying but my downloads are at a snails pace! |

JO, THE BISHOPFISH, told me about the skin at Peggy, & hairs! I looked, & WOW the guy has ABS! so I will be getting them in my game as soon as I sort out what I am doing wrong with my CC install! & it is in the free section!

Okay Karima, I gave you everything you needed to get your mods to work. Obviously, you must have put something in the wrong place because it works awesomely for me. 1. Extract the file I gave you to your desktop. 2. Do NOT put the folder inside The Sims 3 folder, which is inside your documents folder!!! 3. Put it into The Sims 3 folder which is inside your PROGRAM files!! Below is a picture of how mine looks. I have a custom install on my game, on a different drive, but if you put yours where the game defaults it to, your path will be: c:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/The Sims 3. I gave you EVERYTHING you need to make it work. You just need to make sure you put everything in the right place!  Look at the red circles above. As you can see, there is the mods folder AND the resource.cfg file. THAT is where you put the stuff I gave you. Remember what I said about your path being a bit different, but the folder is the SAME! When I open the mods folder, you can see the packages folder inside it as depicted in the picture below. It also shows what I see when I open the packages folder... my mods/hacks and a couple of extra things I picked up:  EVERY ONE of these are working fine for me. This is where my default replacement skin/eyes, the no censor hack, some patterns from MTS, and the no zzz's, etc that I left in the folder for you. If you put the folder and file right where it shows in the picture, the no zzz's, no musical notes, and no slap effects that I left in it for you will work as well. When you go into your game, you should notice those things gone when your sims sleep, play the guitar, and slap each other. Hopefully my mini-tutorial will help get you going. Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words. Also, I read on MTS that that install helper monkey thing will actually make a few sub folders in there for you. I haven't tried that yet, but that leads me to believe that you CAN have a few sub folders in there. Once I get a few more things, I may just give that a shot and see how it works. |

I downloaded the Monkey from MTS, & at Maty one of the kind peeps there has a list for download at Mediafire, & I am downloading this as it is easier as it is in smaller lots!I have given up trying to download the big file!  EDIT:If your CC does not work after install, & you have done it correctly,do this: Delete the file called SimCompositorCache. it will re-generate on start up of Sims 3! FROM MTS!
