Thanks, Jo! I do hate the fuzziness, too. Some pics come out fine & others just make me want to cry! I know so little about the techncal stuff. I changed the settings once because I was having some problems, but that was before my memory bump. I never know which way is good & which way is bad, but if high is the way to go, then high it will be! Thanks for the tips!

Also, the recap was special, just for you. I remembered in my help/suggestion thread you mentioned you liked them.

Well shadows on/off is there under the cog wheels button as well. It takes a little bit of time once you turn it to off, like mine just sat thinking about that for awhile. But I didn't really miss shadows so much. For me if the choice is between having shadows or sharp pics then I would choose the sharp pics. You can also turn off reflections, but I never did that. I like being able to see in a mirror. I only know about that from Toasts writing tutorial. So I'm just passing along someone else's knowledge.

Well I did especially like the recap I guess you know I like the lighter/funnier/more romantic type stories best. Glad you could use the swords too. I downloaded them originally for my medieval hood and I haven't been back there for probably a year now.

Man, I'm so glad I don't have to pick and choose which features to turn off/leave on. I love being able to have my shadows and reflections...lol.

I think making sure your snapshot quality is set to high is one of the main things with having good pictures. Turning off reflections and shadows, etc mostly helps in making your game run more smoothly if it's not.

I can give up shadows, but I like the reflections, too. I think I'll jump in there now & give it a shot.

On Toasts tutorial, she was saying if your computer can't seem to handle having the picture setting turned to high (maybe it can cause crashes or lags) that turning of shadows can just give that extra bit of oomph. Now on my new computer I do have shadows on and pictures set to high. Although from what Harley said about my CPU, it doesn't sound real good.

It won't let me adjust shadows or smooth edges. They're both grayed out. (unselectable) Most everything else was high, so I moved the one that was still on medium to high.

Grayed out? Weird. Are your shadows on? Like do people and objects throw shadows in your game? Maybe it's already off because your computer can't handle it. I know some people have never had fish in their ponds because there computer couldn't take it. If you can't improve the graphics I would say so on the first page. Just so new readers know. It's still a great story.

Well Jo, she is playing on a laptop. I figure she's darned lucky to be playing the game with all those expansions as it is...lol. So, more than likely, the shadows and smooth edges are off because the computer can't handle them.

Thanks, Holley! I'm glad you like it! I was getting worried! Balin is all Aussie Karima's, but she hasn't been on to see him yet.
I believe there may still be a link to him under "Valentine Guy" in the links section, if you want him. I don't want to offer up other folk's creations without their permission, but I seem to remember that she didn't mind sharing him.

The shadows are set to medium, and I seem to remember they were selectable at one time. (back when I first monkeyed with them) I was thinking I have to change a different setting elsewhere, which would then make the shadows selectable, but who knows. I know dh did a bunch of stuff to my laptop to help me run everything. He's begun setting up our gaming pc to get it ready for Sims3, but since I have to finish this story with Sims 2, there's no big rush. I'm guessing my pics will be better on that pc, but again, who knows? (well probably everyone but me! Lol!)

Aw, thanks, Guy! I'm having a good time writing Balin. Don't worry, Niall's got some tricks up his sleeve, too. You can get Niall from Karollinka's simpage, if you want him..he's a young adult, so you'll have to age him up in body shop if you want a grown up. I changed his hair, too. And as you saw above, Balin is available for adoption, too!

Hey Jill... your settings could have change with the addition of new expansions too. Each expansion adds more stuff to further stress your computer's power and ability to handle it. So.. settings get changed accordingly.
