Ok Val, I have finished chapter 6. What an Ass Hole Storm is to Victoria. Just like a guy not to admit he loves her. Good for her leaving. Maybe that will get through his THICK skull. Too bad about the baby, so sad.
I'll get to the next couple of chapters soon. My DH is going out of town for work next week so I'll have the entire evening, after the kidlets are in bed, to read and write my Sims stuff.
Good Story!!! edit: OOOMMMMGGGG!!!!!! I was just going to read chapter 7 tonight! What a Cliff hanger!!!! *runs off to read chapter 8*

I think I might have to delay uploading chapter 14 just for you Holley so you can catch up ;D But I'm glad you're enjoying the story so far. I know, Storm was a bit of an ass in the beginning but hopefully he's realised what's important

Actually, I never saw Storm as an 'ass'. Oh yeah, his attitude irritated me, but I realized he was merely a man who was afraid to allow himself to feel too deeply and fall too hard for a woman because, inside, he was like a little child afraid of being hurt.
He had built this huge wall around himself and struggled with all his might to not let anyone chip it away from him.
Victoria didn't help much either with her attitude and the way she handled the situation. LOL@Holley! Hey, if everything was perfect, we'd HAVE no story!

Wow Tina, that's quiet an analysis of Storm's character ;D I don't want to say much on the characters because I want everyone to make up their own minds and decide what the story means to them but...here's my two cents worth... Yeah, he was afraid of getting hurt and allowing himself to get too involved, partly because of his job and partly because of his late wife Emma. In some ways he was afraid of hurting Victoria more than anything else, perhaps because of his self-fulfilling prophecy that he may just be his father's son after all and he may not be able to commit to one woman. He was also afraid of endangering Victoria's life. His job comes with risks and as much as Emma's death was random, he still believed he is to blame because he is an FBI agent and he could not protect her. But in the process he drove away the only woman who's ever truly loved him. Whatever his reasons, I can understand why Holley would think he's an ass. There are some situations he could have handled better but instead he allowed his pride, arrogance and stubborness to get in the way.
Victoria on the hand had no experience of falling so deeply in love with someone and she was just as afraid as he was. Storm just had to say the word and I guess she would go to the ends of the world for him. She was willing to put herself out there but Storm kept pushing her away. She might have acted irrationally at times but with Storm pushing her away how else could she have acted? I get the feeling you have no patience for Victoria, why?
Acting irrationally seems to be what both Storm and Victoria do where the other is concerned. Storm is more of a feeler than a talker and with Victoria everything has to be said and out in the open. So being on opposite polarities they are constantly engaged in a power struggle and it's their unwillingness to yield that keeps them going back to each other for more and I guess it's how the story's made it so far...

LOL! It's not that I have no patience for Victoria. I like her well enough. It's just that (and I know the story wouldn't have been as intense without the whole scene, but) the whole scenario of her being abducted by whatshisface and her being shot so that she lost the baby could have been avoided if she'd only grown a pair and told Storm about their baby in the first place, whether he liked it or not...lol. So, in that respect, it was Victoria who became the ass. As a woman, we have to learn to understand that (most) men never tend to express their feelings as openly as we do. That's, at least according to them, part of makes them men. Most times, we girls just have to buck up, take the initiative, and take matters into our own hands. Men, after all, are just overgrown babies who need us around to look after them. Why do you think God had to create Eve so soon after discovering His mistake with Adam?

I don't think men were a mistake. God gave Adam Eve as a help mate. Remember Eve was the one who couldn't even follow simple directions like, don't eat that apple. I don't like the whole emasculation of the male species that seems to happen more frequently. Men are simple, but not dumb. They usually get to the crux of the matter, while we women tend to over analyze and hold grudges. Sometimes I envy that. I'm not saying they are perfect, but either are woman. Men and Women are just different. I think we compliment each other well.
Anyways, getting back to what we were talking about. My analysis of Storm was after chapter 6. I hadn't read further than that so my opinion was on him up to that point. I understand that he is scared, but the reason he's also an Ass is because of the way he handled certain things. This quote from chapter six for example. "I?ve told you before and I?m telling you again, don?t confuse sex and pity with love and marriage!?" How cruel was that?! "Oh, your just a pity F*$# Victoria." Oh! and then when they were fighting he said this! "At least I?m not the insane murdering bastard who fathered your child!" WOW! For being a smart man, that was a pretty dumb thing to say. So I finished Chapter 10 last night. I would have read chapter 11 but it was midnight and I was tired.

Holley... I said that as a joke. I didn't mean to cause a lecture upon the subject. Also, how do we know that for sure, eh? The Bible was written by MEN. Do you think a man would admit it if HE was the one who told Eve to eat the apple? I think not! Women were nothing more than servants to men back in the old days. Do you think they let a woman be involved in the writing of the bible as an advisor or anything else? All we know for sure is what the guys who wrote the Bible wanted us to know. You know? That all being said, I never said men are dumb. I don't know where you got that from. I said they (most, not all) are big babies that need us to take care of them and guess what? I stick by that statement. I mostly mean when they get sick or something. I'm no longer a young woman and I've been in MANY steady relationships over the years. When I get sick, I pretty much have to take care of myself and the kids, etc as always, but... let my man get sick and I have to take the place of his mother...lol. I have to bring him food, medicine, and whatever else he needs while he lies in bed whining about how terrible he feels. That's ok, though. I can handle it because... I Am Woman! ;D

Wow, deep theological discussions over here. I bet you didn't know your story would spark those Val. By the way this is on my to read list. Just that I'm back on I think it's chapter 4.

LOL@Jo! Well, I'm not going to continue along those philosophical/religious lines of conversation. Those can get too deep for me. I will say this, though Holley, before it's over, Storm, and maybe Victoria as well, are going to do a LOT more things that make you want to jump into the story and shake some sense into them! It's too a story a story to miss, Jo, so reading it is a fine idea! ;D

Two people as dumb as these two are about each other deserve each other BTW, I'm sure you were kidding, but I had to give my two cents anyways I got to stick up for my Man!

Well, every good story must have a lot of conflict involved. These two are most certainly conflicted. lol We would get bored if it was all lovey-dovey all the time, so as heart-wrenching and mind-boggling as it all is, it's what makes the story go round!
