Jo was not the first one to receive an opportunity offer, but she was the first one to actually complete one.
She had to grow three very nice fruits or vegetables and deliver them to Don Lothario. He was a hard one
track down. First, she went to his house because that's where his icon was from the neighborhood screen,
but he wasn't home when she got there. Finally, she found him at the pool. Way to go, Don! You just made
me use a command that could have been put to better use later.
Sue: "God, I'd give anything if I could get my hands on a laptop!" She hoped Sawyer would take the hint and
start swiping something other than showers and toilets.
Holley: "One of these days, I'd like to visit the art gallery!"
Sawyer slipped away from the conversation and went to pursue his new-found love: fishing!
Meanwhile, Jo and Jill tended the garden, which was growing bigger every day.
Finally, Jill was offered the opportunity for which she had been waiting for what seemed liked forever! Now,
she would be able to actually write something for profit instead of just practicing and refining her writing
skills. She didn't know if she would ever be able to complete such a daunting task, but she was more than
willing to try!
Jill, thinking: Oh man, can I really do it? I'm so tired all the time! It's just so hard to cope with anything other
than our day to day survival! What am I going to do?
Then Jill remembered something I had told her about visiting our neighbors' homes. It was a great gift given
to us by Mae raising her charisma skill to five. I had told her about the couple of times I had been able to actually
sleep in a soft bed. The home owners' didn't seem to like it very much, but as long as it was daytime, it seemed
they only threatened to make us leave without actually doing it.
So, that is how Jill got enough rest to be able to begin working on her opportunity.
Word quickly spread about this new and wonderful thing and soon, almost everyone gave it a try.
While Sue and Lynda slept in one room of a neighbor's home, Sawyer and Holley were in another room.
Unfortunately, I don't have a pic of Holley, even though I could have sworn I snapped one of her sleeping
in the other twin bed next to Sawyer.
I don't know what happened. Either it got too late, or there were too many of them to be ignored, but soon
everyone found themselves kicked to the doorstep!
The next day found a few us exploring Lost Willow Park. Jo and I enjoyed some of my grilled hot dogs, which
were my specialty since I had no stove on which to cook anything different.
Sawyer decided to go off on an exploration mission. We now had plenty of cash to keep the repo man away,
but we desperately wanted to save up enough money to buy a home of our own. We would never make it
unless we worked very hard and took on every opportunity and chance we could.
Sawyer was thrilled to find several rather nice rocks out near the pile of rocks that resembled Stone Henge.
Oh lookie! It's a cow!
Back at home, I could not help but be disgusted by the filth surrounding me and the crowd that always seemed
to fill the bathroom. It was time to get away again.
Once again, we went to the warehouse and found ourselves surrounded by the familiar green fog that often hovered around us.
This is Lynda's "Get the heck out of my way and let me pass!" face:
She was the first to head up the stairs toward the showers, but the rest were not far behind.
Some us enjoyed hanging for a while as usual.
Meanwhile, Sue contemplated her surroundings. It's a warehouse Sue! What's to contemplate? lol
Of course, someone broke the shower and Holley had to fix it.
Sue worked a bit more on her logic skills and then everyone went home again. The evening passed uneventfully.
Sue and Sawyer each had received an athletic opportunity. Sawyer was asked to workout to the TV, swim, and
jog for thirty minutes and Sue needed to improve her athletic skill by one point, so the next morning, they headed
off together to the gym.
After spending most of that day, gardening, fishing, and fixing things, it was time to head back to the warehouse
for some hot showers, food, and fun. Mae, I have heard of 'getting into cars' before, but don't you think this is a bit
ridiculous? And look, the owner of the car is a cop and he doesn't look to happy about it either!
He looks like he got some stink up his nose or something!
Poor Jo and Jill weren't able to get to the showers before they were occupied, so they had to keep her fog until after having a bite.
To the unwashed, it seemed as if Mae, Holley, and Lynda were taking forever!
I decided to grill up my new specialty: Green Fog Stink Dogs, anyone?
Lynda flirted with Sawyer, with Jill looking on, as Jo rose to hit the shower. Everyone wondered where Sue was.
Sue was napping on a bench outside the stadium. She hadn't realized quite how tired she was when she
decided to go there to report her progress on her athletic skill improvement. She didn't know that she had three
people looking down at her with pity in their eyes for the poor, homeless woman. One of those onlookers was Don Lothario.
Lynda managed to sneak off the pool while no one was watching.
That night, Mae wondered if they would ever have enough money to buy a decent home.
The next morning, Jo was up early working in her garden, as usual. When she could not hold it any longer,
she stopped and headed for the restroom.
Jo: "I swear if you people don't get out of my way, I'm going to put my arm through the wall!" Haha.. too late, Jo!
Jill worked and worked until she completed her first novel. She sighed happily, leaned back in her chair, and
closed her eyes for a moment. The completion of her first novel meant that they would now be able to buy an easel.
The next time she checked her email, she was overjoyed at the message she received. Things were definitely looking up!
Well folks, I have only posted about half the pictures I have taken so far, but this is where I will leave it for now. Things really are looking up for my little group of homeless simselves. They are not off the streets, but their bank account has gone up from only $150 to about $3200. ;D
I hope you enjoyed this and thanks for reading!
