Yup i get it. I pride myself in being a geek lol, I was actually in shock cause I'm always messing around with my computer, i actually crashed it twice and surprised myself by getting it up and running. I can't believe it was that simple!

Well, Actually they say that smart people can't dance, I don't know if it is a myth or something like that ... but it's very likely.
I dance a little. Not my favorite activity.

 Okay people... I do NOT like where this conversation has gone...  I got some NEWS for ya... I can dance my patooty off because I have rhythm! No, I don't do 'organized' dancing, but I definitely have some MOVES! Do I seem 'unsmart' to you???  Well then... that smart people don't dance thing is not only a myth.. (I've never heard that), but it must be one of those urban legends too!  Just watch me go!   |

Hey Harley, I have a question for you.  My son has borrowed me his laptop. IT's a Compaq,made by Hewlett-Packard and the thing, One: keeps shutting itself down and I don't know why and Two: it refuses to acknowlege that it has a third drive on here for CDs and Dvds. What do you think could be wrong with this thing.? My son has taken it to one repair shop already and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I want to play my sims games but it won't play anything in the Cd /DVD drive.  It's also two years old. Do you think you can help? Thanks!  |

The shutting down issue to me sounds like its heat related...As in the Graphics or the CPU itself is getting hot...More than likely due to dust build up internally blocking airflow out of the case..... Or..Its possible its the DC power jack on the motherboard..Thats the power cord where it plugs into the laptop..does it ever show the battery fully charged?  The other problem can be many things...Possibably a dead or corrupt driver fot the DVDRW drive... Tou see if thats the case go to your computer icon on the desktop...Right click it and select *PROPERTIES* Then find and select *DEVICE MANAGER* Once that opens look for any yellow or red icons showing ..if you see any, they are probably located with the CDDVD drive... If so Right click and select *UPDATE DRIVERS* Or..send it to me and I will fix it for you... Gotta fix the heat first..then maybe reload the operating system as the thing may have corrupted over time and will never let the drive work... That is a place to start...many shops have no clue about heat issues cause they suck and are dumb... I will fix it free if you pay shipping ... Thats a deal too..It also may be the thermal paste on the CPU had come loose and causing it to over heat too.... |
