But don't you still need to upload the pictures to Photobucket first? If you are, how does that save space? Nope, no pic uploads to photobucket necessary! ;D They go in attached to the document, as part of the document, so they don't need to be hosted on another site.

Maybe you could write a tutorial on this Tina. Have you ever seen Steph's tutorial on BP? I just can not see me doing all that Power Point stuff. And now I am wondering why is anyone! If it can be done through Word. I can't even figure how you are getting your pictures from the sims folder into Word.

Okay, when you are in Word, there is an option at the top to 'insert'. All you do is click on that and then choose, 'picture'. Open up Word and explore a bit and you will see it. I will write a tutorial, if necessary with pics and all, but it's so easy it shouldn't be necessary...lol. Play with Word and find the picture-inserting section and mess around with that for a bit. Open a slide share account and then save a Word document that has pics in it and just upload it to to slide share. Once it's uploaded, click 'Publish'. Once it converts your document into a 'presentation', just click on it and have a look. ps.... the FIRST thing I do before adding pics is to change my page orientation from portrait to landscape in order to accommodate the landscape-style pictures we have in our games.

Really, I've never noticed that. *Opens Word* ................................................ Wow, so there is; and look at that I inserted a picture of Bernardo onto the page! What I want to know is why is everyone using Power Point then?! But that isn't a whole story. Don't you have to change the photo size? And how does that transfer to different slides? Did you say one picture per page somewhere? So I would have to do a hundred Word pages. I must say though, that part was easy and it looks nice and sharp too.

I read this earlier and came to the same conclusion. NO PHOTOBUCKET account necessary!!! I think I will experiment with this on my nexy WYDC. I already have 3/4 of my CtoF pictures on LJ, so no point removing them now. I didn't know it would be this easy. Looking forward to trying it out.

Compared to the Power Point tutorial this seems to be much easier. I still don't care for the non copy pastability of slideshare or how sometimes it doesn't like loading for me and having to take notes or click back or forward to find names again. Those things are a pain when you want to leave a good comment. But having the click over and not using ph space is certainly a very big draw card it has going for it.
Update, but not the good kind. I have computer troubles. My game turned itself off, maybe due to an over heating graphics card. I'm going to try turning it off for awhile, maybe then it will let me load up and get the photos, I only need about 8 more for this first part of chapter 15.

I don't think I've ever read the powerpoint tutorial. But that may not seem so difficult for those who know powerpoint, which I don't...lol Sucks about your computer, Jo. Hopefully it's nothing horribly serious and you can get it sorted quickly. Oh it's really easy, Holley. I'd have done sooner, too, if I'd known how easy it is! ;D @jo... resizing the picture is one of the tricky parts. It's easy, but it can sometimes disappear if you go too far. That's when I'm thankful for the back button. What I do is grab the bottom left corner of the pic and then drag it toward the upper right corner to make it small enough to fit text below it. Then, the pic needs to be centered onto the page by either using the back key or the space key, depending on which direction the pic is off-center. If you add all your pictures to the thing first, and then go back to type the text, pictures below the page you're working on can move down on the page when you hit 'enter' for some reason. That's when I scroll down, put my cursor at the top of the pic and then hit backspace to move the pic back to the top of the page. Those are just a few of things you'll get used to doing once you are used to typing your stories up in Word. Once of the BEST things about this is the fact that you'll always have a copy of your story on your computer!

I have a copy in Word of each LJ chapter now anyway. I copy all the HTML from my LJ chapters and paste it into Word. So you do have to resize pictures. This is starting to sound like just as much work as an LJ blog chapter anyway.

LOL! It's not all that bad. You only have to resize the pictures so you have room at the bottom for your text. It's not a lot of work at all actually. Once you get used to doing it, it goes really quickly. The resizing is just a bit of dragging the corners. Stop being so lazy, Woman! Did you change your page layout to 'landscape'? Also, if you don't have much text, you hardly need to resize the pics, if at all. You'll know you need to make the pic smaller if once you start typing, the text moves down to make another page. Then if you drag the pic smaller, it will move back up again. Maybe I will just have to do a tutorial so that you can see how easy it is. Besides, it's worth it to save PB space and the step it takes and to see how nice it looks it that format. I think it's great to not see a part of the next picture while you're still reading the text to the picture above it. The 'turn the page' format is the way I like the best. One of these days, I will probably do my other series that way and move it to LJ too.

I guess I am not understanding, because the one picture I put in fit perfectly well and there was stacks of room under it for text. So you really do use one Word page per slide then? I've never changed my page to landscape where do I find that? I really wish I had some pictures I could give you for a cover or something. I daren't open my game now until we get a new power source. Don't want to risk it shutting off again like that. Oh well I should get caught up on a lot of my reading tomorrow at least.

The reason you had plenty of room for text is because you DID NOT change your page to 'landscape'. If you look at the top, you will see a button that says ' page layout'. If you click that, you will 'orientation', or something like that. All you do then is click 'landscape' and your page will go sideways into a landscape view. That works best because the pictures are in 'landscape' form. You can do this even if your picture is already there and it will still change accordingly. And yes... each page is a slide. If you allow the text to dribble down to a new page, it won't be on the same slide as the picture. Keep in mind that your interface in Word may be slightly different from mine. I have Microsoft Office 2007. If you have 2003, yours will look slightly different, but it still has the features I'm telling you about.

Well I think I have all the photos needed for Evil Lottie's montage. There are three. I managed to do one so far! Not without troubles, but I have it up on my LJ post. Only thing the writing on it is a bit small.
I might add another scene after that seeing this has saved space. Just need to find a good stopping point.
