Jo, if you do all the pages for the chapter and see how long it gets, you could then find the rough halfway point and split it in half there. I always end up making uni into two chapters because that's where most of the romance happens in my challenges.
My Freud's adventures chapter is doing my head in! Trying to keep it mostly Freud while Bandura is pregnant again and hogging the spotlight is annoying, and then when I thought I'd ordered the pictures properly, the snowman appeared to be regenerating - guess what, wrong order again!
Well that's true, but I do a chapter so slowly that if I do all the scene setting and playing pictures it will make putting the chapter up quite a wait. I'm having a lot of trouble knowing what and how to shoot and write this. I just don't enjoy setting up, thinking or writing plot most times. It was so much easier when all I did was commentary!
Picture order grrr. I tend to empty the folder fairly often to help with that. But that can be a royal pain. It's going to be 'fun' when I go back to the OWBC, I have a lot of pictures and I lost the notes. So that may end up being a right toss together.
The plot is the reason the pictures too so long to sort, having Freud on a mission to go to community lots has made the timeline completely out! But I'm so, so happy because Latane just grew up and my goodness is he cute!
I posted on your story length poll, but whatever you decide about the chapter I'll look forward to reading it; I know what you mean about setting things up - it takes so many more slides and so much more time!
The setup of a story really sucks. It's the part I procrastinate on the most!
My new story was going fine until I decided to stop and post the earlier chapters on LJ first. Although it will be great when it's done, it's a PITA now! Ack! All I really want to do is get on with new parts of the story...lol
Did you post your Nellie story on LJ, Tina? That would be so cool! It'll let a lot of others have a look.
Jo, if you're concerned about a smaller chapter, you could always post it up at the same time you do a big one. Way back when, when I was working on Sealgaire like a good girl, I did that with the "bonus" chapters. I felt they were too small to stand alone, but it was nice to post them at the same time as a larger chapter. You could just leave it set to "private" until the larger chapter is ready.
As far as my story, I've been very bad over my vacation time from work and haven't written or shot a word of it! I've been falling in love with WA, and it has sucked up all the time I intended to give to Niall and crew. Now, I've got my little pic spam story going for WA, and I think I'll concentrate on that until it's done. (shouldn't be too long) Once I wrap that up, I hope to get back to Sealgaire.
I've put off copying and pasting my older chapters to sort some of my new one out, it just takes so long sorting everything out. But at the end of it, I guess it'll be worth having the older chapters in the new format.
I've gotten two chapters posted to LJ so far, Jill, which is the equivalent to four that I posted here. The ones here are very short due to pic loading times, but at LJ in a slideshare, they can be longer. I think the new format is awesome! You should check it out when you get the chance.
I'm DYING to work on it some more, but alas... I have other things I'm obligated to do for a while today, but you can bet I'll have at least one more chapter up on LJ before I go to bed tonight! I want to get this done so I can work on the new chapters.
As for Sealgair.. come on, Woman... get your butt in GEAR! We want MOAR!
Amylu... it IS a ton of work redoing chapters for another format, mostly because it's time consuming, but I do think it's worth it in the end.
Well there were at least two replies before mine Tina. Don't worry I'm sure people are reading it. ;D
As to stories. If I remembered to cheat what I am allowed to cheat, my story would come along faster! I was on the second or third date for Evil Lottie tonight before I thought about simply cheating the relationships on the sim blender. I changed one Uni lot a little and added a hot tub so I don't have to alter things with dormon cheat all the time. And next time I play Evil Lottie I will summon who I want and cheat the heck out of it and get some of those pictures done. I think there is probably one usable picture from to nights play. *sob* The snails are going faster then me!
Aw Jo, I hope Evil Lottie gets easier to play with the cheating, I know what you mean about a lack of nice point sims and relationships, Penny and Oatley only like their partners and their family - woe betide any strangers!
I'm finally copying the rest of my early OWBC chapters into Powerpoint but it's still painfully slow - half way through chapter 3. So, nearly halfway there!
I do it in Powerpoint because then I just know for certain what goes on each slide and I find it easier to re-order new chapters that way. I've also used it a lot whilst at college and uni, so I'm more used to it. It does take a long time though.
Can't wait for Chapter 10 of Nellie's Adventures! ;D

Tina, yeah I'm going all out at 1km per hour! Weee!! I'm so fast the protozoa better watch out!
I should give this method of yours a try Tina. Until you said the other day about uploading from Word I had never heard of it. As far as I know everyone was uploading from Power Point. I thought that was the way it had to be done.
Amylu, it's fun when you don't have to worry about the lack of points. Playing Nic with 0 nice points is just too funny. He is enemies with one guy from his dorm and when he isn't at class or taking care of his needs it's a constant line in his queue to shove, push, poke or fight this guy. Lol lets say I have lost count of the dust clouds. Which Nic wins every time.
Oh it's REALLY easy to use word! I know exactly what's going on each slide too, because I insert the picture first and then type the text beneath it. As long as everything's on the same page, it's on the same slide.
Jo, I'm sure you could it as well. The hardest part is learning how to manipulate your pictures on the page, but that can only be learned by doing it and getting lots of practice. I've messed with it a lot because of copying my stories from the exchange and pasting them into Word, so I'm pretty much an 'old hand' at it now.
