Going to the dentist... blech!

Well, I have been goofing off all morning, watching the forum, hoping someone would show up to talk to but, alas... no one has. lol Now I must leave for a few hours because of.... *gulp*... a dental appointment!

Lately I have been having some-needed work done on my choppers and I'm starting to get the beautiful smile of my youth back but.... man, I sure HATE to have people messing around inside my mouth! *shiver* LOL

I am one of those people who isn't afraid of the dentist. I think that is because my parents took us on a regular basis... and our dentist was pretty cool too.

I didn't go for a long time during my 20's but now that we have kids we have been going regularly. I am a bit apprehensive about taking my oldest because he is autistic and HATES getting his teeth brushed. He has been pretty cool so far with visual exams, but we haven't had his teeth cleaned yet.

Anyways... GOOD LUCK at the Dentist Tina!

Thanks Holley! I'm not afraid of the dentist. I just don't like having to lie there with my mouth stuck wide open while someone is poking around in there!

Yeah, that can be hard- my brother is autistic, too. He's high functioning, he has Asperger's, but he hates all of the touching and stuff too. He's probably one of the sweetest people I know, though. He's already in college now!

Ethan is high functioning to, he doesn't mind being touched. He just hates his teeth and hair brushed. I know he is going to scream and need to be held down the first time he gets his teeth cleaned. I am not looking forward to it.
He is sooooooo smart too. He is only four and can pretty much read. I am glad to hear your brother is going to college . How does he do? I have a friend who teaches in college who has a sixteen year old in his class. A sixteen year old in college

Yeah- my brother started at college when he was 16. He's really, really smart. He was always in the advanced classes and did amazingly well. He is doing well in college, he's 18 now. By the end of this year, I believe, he'll have his associates. Because he was so young, he couldn't go to a university, so he stayed at home and went to a community college of sorts for the past two years.

But he's going to be going to The University of Georgia next year, and we're really excited!

I'm okay with dentists, but I hate going to the doctors. Everytime I go, I get the feeling they will poke me with needles! I cry everytime I get a shot, unless I'm distracted by something, like bubbles!

Aw, I used to cry when I got shots, too. They're never pleasant. I'm lucky to never have had a cavity or anything... I only had like "the beginning" of a cavity once, and they took care of it quickly.

Pretty much, I had a two day stay in the hospital, and IVs were all in me and stuff, so it cleared my fear of shots... Jeez, do I have a way of bringing a conversation down or what?!!?

LOL@Tina, I just got the best image of you spilling coffee down your face... that's so sad/hilarious.
