I'll tell ya what... if it isn't one thing in this world, it's freaking something else!
Sometimes, you'd expect to just have a nice, relaxing day where nothing goes wrong and gets you pissed off. On a rare occasion, it may happen... to other people!
I have control of my mom's bank account and I pay her bills online with my online billpay at our bank for her. I have her sanitation (trash collection) bill on automatic so that it gets paid automatically every three months, the bill is only $12.00 a month, so I guess it's more economical or something to bill ever three months for them. Anyway....
She received a bill from them today saying that she owes $77.00 to them! She calls me up asking if I've been paying the bill and I'm like, "Sure I have! It's automatic!" So then I have to research the problem to see if the bill is actually getting paid. It is.
So then I tell my mother to call the idiots and tell them the bills HAVE been paid. My mom, in turn, calls me back to say, "I still didn't get it straightened out. She wants you to call her." So, I do.
Turns out that they are missing a payment that clearly went out in October! Why did they wait SO long to let us know and why do they say she owes $44.00 now instead of $36.00? I guess maybe it's late fees or something. But... since the payment was sent, she shouldn't owe any late fees!
Anyway, the lady at the office is going to research to figure out what happened to the check, which I have the check number for, and then get back to me later. I'm wondering the morons applied to someone else's account or.. maybe the check got lost and was never actually cashed. If the latter is the case, then I guess a trip to the bank to find out what happened is in order.
NOTHING is ever easy!
