;)We also thought the same thing & rang Optus(provider) to ask what was happening, they do not care who uses it!as long as it is payed for! it was not until our Tec fixed it to stop other people from using our account, we just hope that that will do the trick, as we have been getting ours stolen ever since we got wireless,so it would be good to use what I payed for & not someone else!

I know certain countries have internet set up that way. I'm lucky to be able to pay one monthly amount for all the internet I want. Hang in there, Jo. It'll be a long 3 days, but as the others said, at least you'll be able to put some chapter work in!

Well I'm building a hotel eeerrrrggghh. Why didn't I think about looking for a download eeerrrgghh!! You' all know how much I love building.

I don't get the having a download limit thing at all. I think downloading takes up bandwidth and so it boils down to the same thing... maybe. Chances are, I don't download more than 12 GB in a month, but with Harley also on and downloading things, we may. All I know is it would suck to have a limit at all.

Good luck with that Hotel, Jo! I've never tried building a hotel, although I have remodeled a few.

I actually (One other time) Built a marvelous hotel. It had a restaurant, bar and dance floor, gardens, sauna, wedding chapel, gym, rooms and suits. *sigh* took forever. But it would not upload and when I put it in the housing bin I couldn't place in anywhere either so I *sob* deleted it. Thatw as back on the old computer that melted.

Beach lots are a pain to place. They're very picky. I think that is another thing that EAxis could have addressed when they made Bon Voyage or a patch for it. I've made a few beach lots on a nice, flat terrain that seem to place most anywhere. At least I know they will place on the beach areas of Bluewater Village, which anyone with OFB can have if they want. The Snidely's are living in one of them.

I love beach lots, but I've had a few that couldn't be placed once I moved them - even right back where I built it! What I really wish for is the ability to take any house and move it on to any size lot. I have some beautiful homes that others have built, that I wish were on beach lots, or had a bigger yard, etc. It would be great to separate the house from the lot and move them to a new lot.

I know there's some hotels in the bin that can be modified, but that doesn't help you if you've already started. And by the way, you're a wonderful builder! Yours are some of the most creative builds I have ever seen - especially your comunity builds!

I've often thought that too, Jilly. It would be very cool if only the houses could be moved to a different lot, or even shifted around on the lot they're on. *sigh* Ah well, it is what it is.

Who me or Tina? Building drives me up the wall.. (ok couldn't resist saying that ;D ) Partly is because I am NOT a builder I miss obvious things and end up deleting huge chunks I built to recitify mistakes that good builders would not make. Like hmm say flatening the ground from the footpath to the front steps so my tiles sit flat *sigh* remembering that walls on the ground can't be used with foundation, that I can't place doors diagonally. I know some of you know how to do that, but I don't/ get twichfingeritis at the thought.

So anyway here I am building a 'Mediterranean' hotel *bangs self in the head* Probably because I felt like building for about 20 minutes, because that's about the length of my building enjoyment. Then I get like *le sigh* why did I start this...I could be playing xyz by now if I used a download. (Wont say what because a certain someone might see) But once I start well then it has to be like perfection right down to the tv zapper and guest towels!

LOL... she was talking to YOU Jo! I'm not a 'builder' either, but I do an okay job when I put my mind to it. Jo, some doors DO place diagonally without any special thing done to them and you CAN use ground walls with foundations by using a cheat, although I have never done so.

You do build very nice lots though. I guess you are like me and do a good a job when you are determined to build a lot.

Yeah that's it, I can build ok if I put my mind to it, but most times my mind would rather not.
I do get some help from looking at pics online. Sometimes I even print out a house plan. Although not this time. Once I am done I will try and upload it. I build this style all because of the front steps. A very nice curved cc 'staircase' that I have never used. It needs a big place to look right.
I know there are ways to use foundation and ground walls but I don't know how and all that boolprop makes me nervous.

Which doors place diagonally? I already changed the wall plan of that particular suit. But still would be good to know. I guess I will have to try each one. Also which way around do the hotel doors go? Once I am done I will have to send a Guinea pig sim along on a holiday there to check it out. I would hate to send my real sims and find they can't get in there rooms!

That's what I do.. I just pick doors and try them until I find one I like that works..lol I know that the cheapest door will on diagonally and I think the next one up. The glass doors that came with the base game will go on a diagonal.

Hotel doors go with the little metal plate facing the outside of the room and the little map on the inside.

Oh good I have it correct then. After I posted that before I thought well I can always load up a maxis hotel and check. I will still send a sim though to check it all out first though. I hardly ever build a place without a couple of mistakes or areas sims can't seem to work out how to get around lol.

What do you think of the maxis made hotels? I think most of them are pretty pathetic.

LOL... like lots of other EAxis lots...

Actually some of them are not bad at all with a bit of remodeling done to them. I've never built a hotel, but I definitely have remodeled most of the pre-made hotels before attempting to use the them a second time.
