My computer is ok for it being 5 years old. I still need to install and get the AL crack from Tina.

I'm going to get a new gaming computer soon. Lots and lots of Ram to keep up my cc addiction. I just hate all the setting up and putting stuff over. But it will be good once it's done, this one is getting rather slow. The fact that I never do anything to it wouldn't help. basically we use it mercilessly for a couple of years and get a new one. My daughter really needs a new one though as hers is making strange dieing noises. So she will get this one.

I was happy to see us here at the same time too. ;D Lynda said she was going to upload the clean challenge lot and Jill said she had to go do some things with DH before bed. Ah well, it was exciting there for a minute!

I am so confused about that. First I thought it went on as soon as I installed and then we had to take it off afterwoulds, but I see you have been saying don't put it on at all?

There is NOTHING to be confused about. Securom does NOT install itself on your computer until you RUN the game! That's all there is to it. It LIVES in your exe file:

As soon as you run your game with the disk in from that cute little launcher, that SucURom-infested exectuable file embeds the crappy DRM into your registry files and folders in your computer. Then it procedes to tell YOU what else you are allowed to have on your computer along with it. That's when your burning software stops working, or you cd/dvd drives become disabled...

It only happens when you RUN the game! So... stop being confused and just trust what I'm telling you because:

1. I play the game WITHOUT Securom and

2. I have helped a few folks play their games without Securom.

3. Securom is EASY to avoid and I can help if even a 'computer dummy' like you learn how to avoid Securom if you'll seriously just calm down and listen. LOL

Basically what you do is switch that circled file up there with another one after you install your game, but BEFORE you play. Very quick, very simple, and very worth it to keep that crap off your computer!

The thing to remember is DO NOT launch the game with the disc in the drive. Once you do that, you WILL have Sucyrom!

Ok But...>hehe< isn't there always a but. I thought after each Ep is installed that the game was supposed be run. You know the last time I uninstalled and reinstalled all my disks it took me all day long doing that. I would load up, run then shut down after every single one. So you saying I didn't have to load it at all tarnastions!

The way I play now is I click that first icon on the left on my desk top then the window opens and I load from there. I guess that's the launcher.

Oh heck no, you don't have to run the game after each EP is installed! Where did you hear a ridiculous thing like that?

Yea, that's a shortcut to the launcher. Then that litle box pops up asking if you want want play, etc, right?

As far as my being here on the day... you just make sure I AM here when you're ready to install the games on your new computer. We'll get our timing together and if you have to wait a bit to run the game, it's worth it to avoid sucyrom!
