I have really exciting news that I must share with you all! I got my learners a week ago, about and I'm getting a car! The car is a good price, and is pretty nice itself. It's make isn't the best, a Saturn. (Avoid getting them if you can) But I'll be super carefull to not break it like it's previous owners!!

Actually Saturn's are very good cars and really safe. My husband has been in two major car accidents in Saturns and has walked away pretty much unscathed. They are also the only cars that are still 100% American.

Yeah, they're really safe, but it's easy to kill the engine. That's how the previous owners killed it, by going through a water puddle and creating around $1000 worth of damage. The trunk is MASSIVE on it too, big enough for 2 dead bodies. LOL. What luck, I'm Canadian and getting a 100% American car, lol, no probs. But it is good to hear about the safety and proof of them, thanks Holley. I promise you Tina, I'll be very careful.... I also have to learn how to drive with a clutch, heh, don't want to burn it out.

Lol, I looked it up on the internet, and the trunk space is almost 15 cubic feet! That's a lot! I could fit a bed in there, with a little mini stove and have me a camp out! Plus a little space heater...

Well, stick-shifts and I don't get along. Tried my best to learn how to drive one on a couple different occasions, but just couldn't ever get the hang of it. Good luck with that Nicole!

Congrats, Nicole! That's awesome! My dh is a mechanic - if he knows what year the car is, he can give you some tips.

He says those are both really good years for Saturns. The only thing he said to watch for are the tie-rods coming loose. (Not breaking off, just coming loose.) He said it should be a very good car for you, as long as the engine repair was done well. Are you a wrencher? He used to teach automotive at the local tech college. He just went back into the field not too long ago, because there's more money there.

The engine rebuild was done by high school students, supervised by 2 mechanics who were in the field and went into teaching. But that's great to know.

He says that sounds great! It's a good, solid, safe car. Good luck with the stick shift - I never managed to learn those.
