Well, we don't celebrate that here in the US, but I did a google search to find out what it is. I saw that some countries use it as an after Christmas shopping day so basically it IS boxing day here because I'm going shopping... lol! Well, Happy Boxing Day to those who observe it and happy shopping/hanging around the house day for those who don't.  Special note to anyone who's waiting for me to read/comment on an uploaded story: I haven't been on the computer very much in the last couple of days because of holiday chores/stuff. Now I have some after holiday things to do and some new 'toys' to play with which means I won't be on a whole lot today or tomorrow either. As soon as I'm able to take a break from all that, I will hop on one of the stories on my list and then comment in your thread. In the meantime, I hope you all are having a great holiday and may all your wishes come true!  |

you don't have a boxing day in the US?  I love that day, usually I wait in line for an hour so I can buy nice stuff at sometimes half price. The incovenient is that people are dumb and really to kill to go faster but besides that it's fun |

 No, but it probably could be called that the way people like to 'box' others out of the way trying to get to those sales! We have no special name for today, but there are all sorts of 50%-90% off sales going on at different stores.

okay so you have the same thing but without a name and you say that about people boxing their way through, in some adds for the boxing day they use boxing gloves (so people know it's boxing day ... ) |

Boxing day is a public holiday over here. I guess they figured people need a day to get over Christmas. |

Boy, I hear THAT! Lol! We spent WAY too much on Christmas! Plus, we usually celebrate New Year's Eve at my mol's house, but now that my sil (sis-in-law) married a man who owns a party center, the family decided to move it there. They want $63 a head, so today I had to run $125 over to my new bro-in-law. OUCH!!! Sorry, electric company...we'll catch you up next time! LOL!!! Most people here have to work. I took a vacation day myself, but ran errands instead of playing with my new toys!  |

It's not actually celebrated as such, just an excuse to go shopping at the sales or lay around watching movies, playing with new sim games, eatting leftovers or whatever lol. Go check out my LJ Jilly!
