I've been on the hunt for these seasonaly-themed things, fit for the living embodiment of the spirits of winter, spring & fall; I'm (almost) pulling my hair out over how hard it is to find most of what I need so while I continue to explore other cc sites I thought it might help to send DD on a little scavenger-hunt! Everything needs to be free and from a reliable source that won't bork the entire game. And for TS2. And I need to round it all up by next weekend ( today being 8-23-2014)One cc hair with flowers in it. (spring) * Garden of Shadows DID have hair like this(see below) but it wouldn't download.  digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=25053.0Cc hairs with fall & winter accents, or just befitting those who can change the colors of the leaves and make the flowers grow. This hair @ GOS might have been lovely but again would not download: digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php?topic=31024.0Full-face makeup with seasonally-themed patterns. I seem to recall seeing one with a maple-leaf type of imprint, just not WHERE it came from. If not that then (again reliable) custom makeup with appropriate color palette will have to do.  Winter and fall-themed outerwear, everyday, or formal, befitting those elfin spirits. I have been all over the reliable places looking; Parsimonious has tons of nice-looking spring fantasy outfits but very little in winter, and rather mundane (for them) fall things. That's it! It may not seem like much but it has been very hard to find seasonaly-themed things that are well-made and are rather ethereal-seeming. And, thanks for any help you can give.  |

Whoa the flower-crown braid is really pretty! The flowers would also go with the spring dress I picked. I'll have to try that one. Keep 'em coming! Like I said winter and esp. Fall seem to be the hard ones to find anymore. UPDATE: I fell in love with a couple of contributors on The Sims Resource today. As a result, between MTS and TSR, winter things are no longer needed.  *Skysims on TSR has one braided hair with teeny flowers on it, but I wasn't impressed enough with it there to bother downloading it for testing. *I found the flower crown braid easily enough, but it turns out to be one of those that won't download.  *I also found 3 dresses that might've sufficed for fall, but none worked in CAF. One was a copy of a Kiera Knightly (sp?) gown whose mesh was supposedly at a site that's now nonexistent. So no mystery there, but it was worth a try anyway. * I got hold of some fantastically bold and bright eyeshadow sets and lip glosses today, which will be a HUGE help, besides that I've been wanting some pretty cc makeup for awhile. RECAP: We're still looking for fall things that are well-made and fit for ethereal beings. If not fall then fall colors; this includes hair and jewelry. Recalling now, I think the face makeup with the maple leaves might've been a custom skintone, but still no clue where I saw it. |

Modelmgt, was it both links on this post that didn't work? She has a Tumblr with that hair on here, hopefully the links might work on that? Other than that, her bandwidth might be out until the 1st September, so you could try again then? Newsea Kiss Jasmine was done by Simgaroop, but there's only a direct download link available here with no preview, or Keoni here, download link is under the name of the hair. And the only Autumn make-up I know of is in this link list, under the make-up section, called 'Seasonal'. It was originally by Club Crimsyn, but their site is gone and the previews are now down. Give me a few hours and I'll get a bodyshop preview for you if you want it. There are also a couple of hairs with flowers and butterflys on this page of Lidiqnata's site here. Hope that helps, sorry some of the links are a bit difficult to find. |

Amylu: thanks for all the links! Yeah I found Esotheria's page this morning thru Jo's suggestion of Trapping Crushes. TC is an awesome find! That pg either links you to GOS (the non-working one) or gives the option of dl'ing thru box (not a mbr) or mediafire, which I got thru on and am trying now. No option of waiting for September I'm afraid. Amylu you are today's extra-special friend if newsea kiss jasmine works!  Broke my heart that the GOS link didn't want to dl. Those are pretty flower/ butterfly braids too! Will keep them in mind if kiss jasmine doesn't work out. I found the dl link for seasonal makeup ( huge freaking list!!) But yes I'm going to be a pain and ask for some sort of preview. You see? I knew there were sites I hadn't found; never would have apparently, at the rate I'm going. Smartest idea EVER! Ok, Autumn makeup looks like this:  And I also found these by Aikea, which could be Seasonal depending on the colours? Oh, also, Lidiqnata made this leaf make-up. I knew I'd seen it somewhere, it appeared on my search for CtoF last year. |

Oooh both of the leafy ones are perfect! The GOS one I saw in my wanderings yesterday and while I was tempted (lack of cc and all) I'd decided to keep looking. Amylu you seem to have a magic finding-touch! You sure you haven't been in contact with any fairies yourself?  Leave it to MTS to hold back yet another puzzle piece. Also, I tried those alternate links to both hairs and while both finally downloaded neither one worked in-game. I ended up just shooting with another new hair. Now I'm waiting for it to snow again so I can do the winter stuff. UPDATE: I'm about to install both autumn face paints-no wonder I never saw the MTS ones-they're in blushes!  I'm also downloading the butterfly/ flower braids. I just noticed the butterfly afro below it. Holy cripes that poor lady looks like she's being attacked by butterflies!  I'm going for a more mellow vibe than that so.. no. UPDATE 8-29-2014: Well the paints and hair would download but not actually work in-game. The good news is I had enough stuff to complete the three photos, but I really do thank everyone for your assistance! Even though most of the cc didn't work, I discovered some new sites I never would have found on my own, which will surely come in handy next time there's a cc emergency. Wish me luck! MODELMGT |
