Amy anytime you want to make a poll is fine with me. The poll feature and I have a kind of hate/hate relationship. If you can't get to it I will try later after a stiff drink of grape juice!

I didn't change too much about Loki, just smoothed his hair back and changed his clothes to something neater and more meticulously arranged. I looked at different beards for him, but none said Mad Scientist quite like the one he already had.



He's not that keen on having his picture taken, by the looks of things...

Depending on how many pictures I use for the theme, I might add one more to this post, we'll see.

Hopefully I'll get the theme done tomorrow or in the next couple of days, I have my ideas sorted, but Loki went to work when I was about to start shooting it.

Thanks for the reminder Amy, he looks very smart, which is how I see him too. I agree no other beard suits him.

The only thing I changed, (apart from being a vampire) was his clothes as I really think Loki is perfect as he is.

I hadn't intended to turn him into a vampire, but the want was there when I loaded the lot, which I thought fit with the way I see him, as a somewhat smart and suave.

I think I'm right in remembering that the 10 picture limit was overall, so as I used 2 pictures for the normal make-over, I've tried to keep this down to 8! He's only made-over in 2 of them, anyway.

I can't really do laugh-out-loud humour, so I put a twist on the Beauty Contest theme, hope that's ok. And yes, the simlish newspapers are articles made up by me, late last night. If anyone's curious, I have the English versions of my nonsense saved.

The Sunday morning paper had always been a highlight of the week for Loki. The gossip, the updates; and as this was Strangetown, the Science! But this week was much more important than usual. This week, the newspaper was announcing the winners of New Science's "Invention of the Year". This time, Loki vowed, he would be on the front cover. And for a good reason, too.
But when he came downstairs that Sunday, Circe was already smirking. This was not a good sign.

"You're not going to want to read that, today." she guffawed, before retreating behind her book, still sniggering.

Loki sighed at his wife, and turned to the paper.

He blinked. He closed his eyes, hoping it was the early morning light clouding his vision. No, still there. He blinked again. It couldn't be. Not her. Not his stupid, silly little sister.

But there was no denying it.

There she was, grinning up at him like a fool, all across the front page of his beloved newspaper. Erin Beaker, "The Beautiful Face of Science", as the headline proclaimed her. Loki could hear Circe laughing on the other side of the room, and he skim-read the article, appalled at how easily the researchers had been fooled by Erin mashing together some compound-based confidence-enhancing make-up and modifying the study room chair into a make-over station.

How could she have won? He had worked so hard on this, slaved day and night over his invention.

This competition meant so much to him, he had thought of nothing else for months!

He had felt so proud when he posed for his photo, outside his castle, surrounded by his inventions, certain that he was going to win.

And where was his article?

He scanned the paper, angrily cracking the pages open and shut as he searched, hearing Circe's laughter growing.

There, he had found it.

Stuffed in a corner next to an advert for more journalists, "Beaker Cures Flu". Well, he had his article, at least.

And a measly 104 words in his write-up. He had cured the flu, for goodness' sake! What did he have to do to get some recognition around here?!
Furious, he flung the newspaper on the floor and began to leave the room, when Circe finally stopped laughing.

"You should have, known, Loki." she admonished him. "Every competition turns into a beauty contest. Your sister was always going to have the upper edge. Hell, most people stood more chance at a shiny front page spread than you!" she finished, starting to laugh again.

He put his head in his hands, and snapped back the best retort he could think of.
"Next time, you enter the contest if you think you're so amazing! Beauty and brains by your own admission, now that'll win it!" he replied, before storming off to take out his disappointment and anger on poor Nervous Subject...

So yes, I had far too much fun posing all the shots and writing the articles; so his make-over is just kind of...him in a lab coat. But I did enjoy myself!

Clever use of the theme Amy. The articles look great. Poor Loki always seems to come in last place.

I was struggling on this one. All my ideas were way too hard to stage.

Loki's eyesight has gone a bit wonkey since he turned into a vampire.


"What >squint< a booty contest? How ridiculous, I suppose General Grunt will be holding raffles for orphans next."


Circe: "Yes it's very exciting that the contest is being held in Strangtown."

Caller: ....

Crice:"Him? Oh I doubt it." >snort<


Circe: "Lately he's as about as exciting as watching paint dry."

Loki quietly "What's that?"



Circe "I don't know what to do with him, the spark has just gone out."

Caller:.....

Circe "No, he couldn't even judge, not now he's become a vampire."

Loki "Hiss"

Later


"So how's this for spark? I could beat any of them in that booty contest woman."



"Loki for a smart man you can be really really stupid. Hot but stupid"

So that probably made no sense. So Loki misread beauty contest for booty contest, but that wasn't the only contest going on. Circe is talking about a science contest and up until the last line is talking about how Nervous Subject was being very boring lately. Loki eavesdropping thought it was all about him.

I was in the middle of work this morning and suddenly realised we never finished this!

Are we doing a poll for the final round? Or are we still missing entries?

We didn't did we? I know when I started the round I thought people had lost interest. I think I put in my two entries. I'm about to go to bed now so feel free to put up a poll or I'll do it tomorrow. I can't do a whole lot of school with the kids while I can't talk, so i have extra time.

*Sigh* "You're right, of course, I'm just looking for a distraction. I still can't believe that ungrateful wretch had the nerve to leave us!"
"It's only been a couple of days, give it time."
"You're right... I know! I'll buy some new coat hangers, that always cheers me up." Circe sprang off the bed and said from the door, "Want to come along?"
"Er, I'm rather tired, I think I'll turn in early."
"Night, sweetie, sweet dreams!"


And later that night...





"Where am I and what am I doing here?"


"Why sweetie, it's a beauty contest with me as the contestants, and you get to be the judge!"
