Lounge/Living Room Photos-Closes

Rules:
1) Required shots: Please provide one overhead shot showing the layout of your room and one shot of each wall.
2) You may sharpen your pictures slightly or add text but please don't over photoshop them. We want to see how it really looks in your game.
3) Please post the pictures of your room on this thread under a spoiler.
4) If your pictures are huge please make them a little smaller. If it goes off the page and needs a slider to see it all- it’s too large.
5) Make sure to state which category it falls under. TS3, TS2 with cc or TS2 cc free.
*If the first room is cc free all the rooms of that house must be cc free. Please don't have some rooms with cc and others not. You are free to place the house a second time and do one house with cc and one house without.
6) If you are entering more than one category please make each one a separate post.
7) You may post up to 10 pictures per entry. We all love to see close ups of special areas.
8) You may keep your defaults in if you have them so long as everything isn't default. Just mention what it is and what it replaces.

Addition: Just for interests sake, take an overhead to show where you placed your room. This can be posted at the end of your entry but doesn't count as part of the ten picture limit. This is more to do with my own curiosity then anything.

Once all entries are in a poll will be made that can be voted on. The number of votes cast will be kept tally of. If you should not post a room for some reason you will simply score zero. If you have good reasons for being late please pm either amylu or myself and we will see about an extension.

Only take photos of one Lounge/Living room.

An extra large open plan lounge/living room inspired by the sea.

Those are dogs and cats in the pictures (Without my glasses I thought they were penguins at first. >cough<


Relax and watch the TV from the large couch.




Turning around to look at the other end for quieter pursuits.


Play chess and stay warm by the fire.


Read a book by the front windows.

The downstairs layout got altered slightly due to accessibility issues upstairs..

For Daniel, the "living room" is somewhere you entertain people you want to impress. (Just like the dining room! Daniel Pleasant is just a wee bit insecure...)

Overhead:


Looking towards the dining room from the room-that-I-don't know-what-it-is-yet:

In the mirror over the bar, you'll see a patch of sky. This is because I don't like to put ceiling tiles in the middle of staircases. Sims will walk right through them, but it looks weird.

Looking back at the room-that-I-don't-know-what-it-is-yet:

That light strikes me as a bit of a health hazard now that I look closer...

Continuing along the back wall towards the bar:

The antlers are a modern art piece commenting on the violence in modern society. Unless the person asking is a hunter, and then Daniel shot the buck himself.

Along the wall by the dining room, towards the door:

The small door off to the left is a coat closet. You can just see it in the overhead shot.

The front door/foyer area:

The door to the right is a guest bathroom. I personally wouldn't put a conversation area right by a toilet, but that's just me.

I reserve the right to change the color of the front door at a later time.

And back around to the-room-that-I-don't-know-what-it-is yet:

The second door is to the bedroom. Unless Jo gives us a different assignment, and then it isn't.

The bathroom:

Technically not part of the living room, but designed as part of the package, so here it is. The painting is "C Stroke" -- the blue one that came with the base game.

Jo, I like the no-cc version! It's cozy, just like Amy said, and it fits with the rest of the house. And the pictures were fine, even if they weren't screenshots. And the cc version is nice and calming.

modelmgmt, I like the way you used the space. Your concept fits into it perfectly. (Now I'm wishing I'd looked at the other entries first... )

Lorin, I like your version! You really made that dark wallpaper into something warm and inviting! I believe "opulent" is the correct word -- I can tell the people who live here are made of money.

Esme, I like how much lighter and modern you're making the house. So much less oppressive than the original, and much more suited to how I picture Daniel and Mary-Sue, who I definitely see as a more modern couple.

And... I see from your overhead entries that I've still failed to restore the front entry and foundation to the original, so unfortunately my front door is going to have to be one tile wide. I'll try to fix it tomorrow after work and resubmit the pictures affected by the change. Sorry about that!

Finally, I'm going to bow out of submitting a CC entry from now on. It takes several hours of trial and error to do my entries, and two is becoming more work than fun for me. I'm finding that I prefer the challenge of using Maxis-only stuff. Again, sorry.

That's quite alright Lorin, I'll have to bow out of the TS3 section- I only had one as I thought there might be some TS3 players, but my game keeps crashing and I can't be bothered to fix it right now.
