Ruth comes from another story of mine, and when she was very little I decided that it was her Dessstiny to start an OWBC. To further enhance the wackiness, Ruth and co. sport hairstyles, outfits, makeup, and accessories that I unofficially consider to be wacky. Since Ruth is a huge Gilbert & Sullivan fan, I will be borrowing heavily from their plots and referring to many of their songs. (Their works are majorly wacky: in one, a man ends up married to four different women at once.) For you non-Savoyards, here are some handy links to things I refer to, organized by chapter.
For those who like to keep score, here is what I'm hoping for and how well I'm doing.
Ruth originally came from Already in Progress, in case you were wondering. And Ruth's now has a spin-off: The Jack Point Home for Pedestrian Playables. Not that you have to know either story to enjoy this.

General Reference
This website has plot synopses, full script and lyrics, and sound files for all works by Gilbert & Sullivan, even the bad ones. I use it for reference all the time.
Chapter 1: Not based on any specific show
When Fred'ric was a little lad (from The Pirates of Penzance)
Miyasama/A more humane Mikado (from The Mikado)
The flowers that bloom in the spring (from The Mikado)
The "Mikado" was played by Mifune Sanders.
The "Suspiciously Un-Japanese-Looking 'Gentleman Of Japan,' Who Had to Use The Little Samurai's Room" was played by Simon Couderc.
Chapter 2: Not based on any specific show
Brightly dawns our wedding day (from The Mikado)
Chapter 3: Not based on any specific show
My eyes are fully open (from Ruddigore) -- this song is also known as the "Matter Patter"
Chapter 4: Not based on any specific show
I have a song to sing, O! (from The Yeomen of the Guard)
Ruth Tells A Story #1: The Mikado, or, The Town of Titipu
Please note: Not all of these are from the same production. They're all good versions, though.
Act I
"A wand'ring minstrel I"
"Our great Mikado, virtuous man"
"As someday it may happen" -- or you could try this version, or this one, or just look it up on Youtube...
"Three little maids from school are we"
"Were you not to Koko plighted"
"I am so proud"
"With aspect stern and gloomy stride" (and Part 2) -- Act I finale (Only watch if you've got a quarter-hour you don't particularly need)
Act II
"Brightly dawns our wedding day"
"Here's a how-de-do!"
"A more humane Mikado" (Another long one -- the Mikado is rather excessive, but it's Descartes' favorite version)
"On a tree by a river" (This is a good version, but it has a tendency to freeze. If it does, try this one instead.)
"There is beauty in the bellow of the blast" (Technically from The Hot Mikado, but that's just an adaptation of The Mikado reorchestrated to sound more jazzy in the 1930s. The plot, lyrics, and melodies are the same.)
"For he's gone and married Yum-Yum" -- Act II finale
Recommended Filmed Versions
1982 BBC version
1984 Canadian version (Best. Pooh-Bah. EVAR!)
1987 British version (with Eric Idle as Koko, and a wonderfully dignified Katisha)
1987 Australian version
Chapter 5: Not based on any specific show
"If you give me your attention" from Princess Ida
Chapter 6:Not based on any specific show
"When I was a lad" from HMS Pinafore
Chapter 7: Not based on any specific show
"So go to him and say to him" from Patience -- The poet doesn't usually dance around like a boxer, but this is otherwise a good rendition
Ruth Tells A Story #2: The Pirates of Penzance, or, The Slave of Duty
Please note: Not all of these are from the same production. They're not even all from professional productions. They're all good versions, though.
Act I
"Pour, oh pour, the pirate sherry"
"Oh, better far to live and die"
"Climbing over rocky mountain"
"Oh, is there not one maiden breast"
"How beautifully blue the sky" (Most productions have a few more sisters than this...)
"Hold, monsters!"
"I am the very model of a modern Major-General"
Act II
"When the foeman bares his steel"
"When you had left our pirate fold" (Also known as the "Paradox Trio")
"Away, Away! My heart's on fire!"
And a bonus song for you: "When a felon's not engaged in his employment" I didn't work the song in to my story, but I couldn't resist: this version has the best dancing Police Sergeant EVER.
"With cat-like tread"
Recommended Filmed Versions
1982 BBC version -- Uninspired but competently performed and a very good introduction
1983 version with Kevin Kline -- A good version if you can get past the very 80's orchestration
Chapter 8: Not based on any specific show
"Take a pair of sparkling eyes" from The Gondoliers
Chapter 9: Not based on any specific show
"When the night wind howls" from Ruddigore
"the gloaming (noun): the low light that is seen in the evening as the sun sets" (according to learnersdictionary.com, a Merriam-Webster product)
Myrna, or, Oakapple's Own: Based on Patience, or, Bunthorne's Bride
Some fun songs from Act I:
"If you're anxious for to shine"
"Long years ago" -- Patience has excellent enunciation!
"Prithee, pretty maiden" -- amateur camerawork, but fun
Act I finale -- This is only about half the finale, but it's the best version out there
Some fun songs from Act II:
"A magnet hung in a hardware shop"
"It's clear that medieval art alone retains its zest" -- amateur camerawork, but fun
"If Saphir I choose to marry"
"So go to him and say to him"
"When I go out of door" -- overexposed, but good singing
Act II finale -- the fellow in the top hat is the same one who was in the pink pants in the previous clip

Chapter 10: Partially based on The Sorcerer
"Silvered is the raven hair" from Patience
"Welcome joy, adieu to sadness" from The Sorcerer
"Sprites of earth and air" (Also known as "The Incantation") from The Sorcerer
"Now to the banquet we press" from The Sorcerer -- Technically, this clip is from Act I, but it's reprised as the closing of Act II
And a bonus song that I didn't work in, but that's a lot of fun:
"My name is John Wellington Wells" from The Sorcerer
Chapter 11: Not based on any particular show
"You understand?" from Ruddigore And the Vincent Price version, which I don't like as well, but which has VINCENT PRICE
Arbitration: Based on Trial by Jury
"All hail great Judge!"/"When I, good friends, was called to the bar" (I couldn't work it in, but the second song is well worth a look)
Finale (contains "I love him, I love him!", "The question, gentlemen, is one of liquor," and "Oh, joy unbounded")
In fact, if you've got half an hour to spare, the entirety of the production I chose has been uploaded and is worth watching, although the pieces are somewhat out of order.
Chapter 12: Not based on any particular show
Since I have nothing else to offer here, check out the lyrics for "Dear friends, take pity on my lot" from The Sorcerer
Chapter 13: Not based on any particular show
"A maiden fair to see" from HMS Pinafore
Chapter 14: Not based on any particular show
Finale, Act 1 from The Mikado -- Ruth's favorite part begins at 6:03; all non-Katisha parts have been edited out by the poster
"In enterprise of martial kind" from The Gondoliers
"Farewell, my own!" from HMS Pinafore
Chapter 15: Not based on any particular show
"Three little maids from school are we" from The Mikado
Chapter 16: Not based on any particular show
"Hereupon we're both agreed" from The Yeomen of the Guard
"Fair moon, to thee I sing" from HMS Pinafore
Chapter 17: Not based on any particular show
"Now hearken to my strict command" from Princess Ida (production values are not so great, and the orchestra is out of tune, but it's not a popular song)
Chapter 18: Not based on any particular show
Strange adventure! from The Yeomen of the Guard
You can find the full citation that was omitted from the footnote here.
Chapter 19: Not based on any particular show
Since I have nothing else to offer, here are the lyrics to the cut song from The Yeomen of the Guard that I used for the title.
The Order of the Llama, or, The Performer and her Pianist: based on The Yeomen of the Guard, or, The Merryman and His Maid
Some fun songs from Act I:
"When maiden loves she sits and sighs"
"I have a song to sing, O!"
"How say you maiden, will you wed?"
"I've jibe and joke"
"Tis done! I am a bride!"
"Were I thy bride"
"Oh, Seargent Meryll, is it true?", "Leonard!", and "My lord, I know not how to tell the news I bear!" -- from different productions, but together comprising the entire finale to Act I, since nobody appears to have uploaded the whole thing. One note: the male soloist in the Yeomen's uniform is the same character in all three clips.
And one I like a lot but omitted because it's irrelevant to a Sims game: "When our gallant Norman foes"
Some fun songs from Act II:
"Oh, a private buffoon is a light-hearted loon" (from a modern-dress production)
"Hereupon we're both agreed"
"Hark! What was that, sir?" (which I always think of as "the creeping, creeping, crawling song")
"A man who would woo a fair maid" -- A bit overexposed, but the "business" is perfect! (Phoebe Meryll is the one on the far stage left)
"Comes the pretty young bride" (Finale Act II)
And an alternate version with the same cast as the Act I song, so you can see just how "I have a song to sing, O!" changes
