In a real house structual means walls, foundations, pools, roofs. Brick path and garden edges aren't structual, those are the kinds of things people rip up and replace themselves over a weekend. A bridge is fine, a shed or pagola is fine and I've allowed an attached or seperate garage. All wallpaper inside or out can be changed. The pool is a very simple rectangle as it was base game. 8 tiles long and five tiles wide. Okay thanks, Jo! I can't WAIT to start taking pictures.. I have a quote that has everythign to do with the inspiration for all of the yards  |

I decided I better do it over again today while my thoughts of the place were still fresh even though I wasn't anxious to see it. All the garden beds and carport gone. Anyway I've got the pool and garden area looking right again so I'll build the carport again tomorrow.

Jo, would we be allowed to change the pool a tiny bit? Specifically, I'd like to use the "rounded edges" tool that came with a later EP to, well, round the edges of the pool. It would take up the same number of tiles... If not, that's OK. I don't have my heart set on it. |

Sorry Esme, no as I already set the rules for the pool in the very first post. We are all being held to the same rules so no one's pool will be any different. I'm glad you didn't have your heart set on. But do it afterwoulds and show us in a non judging picture what you had in mind.

On the pool- thanks for submitting the dimensions, it's now the only thing left I have to put back!  One more question: As to the placement of the pool, how many rows(of squares) away from that back fence is it, and does the left-hand edge of it(as you're looking at the house from the street) line up with that nearest corner of the house? I wanna say no, but I decided I'd better put it back exactly where it was. If it does not line up with that corner, how far one way or the other? An overhead close-up of where it was in the yard(with the grid on) would be helpful. |

I'm not sure without looking, but I think it's about 3 or 4 squares from the back of the fence and about 4 or five squares from the side fence. I'll be putting my pictures up soon as I've resized them all now, maybe we will be able to tell from that.

I'll be leaving the last round open a few more days for modelmgt who I believe was doing a garden. She said way back at the start of the round that she was.
Has anyone heard from her? We are going away (maybe, dd is sick) on Wednesday for four nights-thursday to everyone else.

Oh good, glad you're not sick. The pool was my fault really, looking in the rules on page one I didn’t mention the pool. I figured no structural changes covered it all. I'll have to learn to be more specific.

Actually it wasn't that so much as way back in round one I was led to believe we were concentrating on the house itself, and no one would ever see the yard. The plants really went to pot(weeds everywhere) and at one point I just needed to make more money faster and I bulldozed the original brick path, all the maze of fencing, and the pool, because I figured if no one was ever going to see the yard, why did I need to keep the pool? Ah well my entry's up now, anyway |
