Open To: Everybody. The Houses The Sims 2 215 Sim Lane is the Peasant’s house from Pleasantview. This house is looking a little old fashioned and in need of a face lift. The Sims 3 This is a base game house from Sunset valley. An interesting house that could do with a better floor plan, and what is that little roof? Download Links for anyone that needs them. Sims 2 Pleasant HouseSims 3 Base game house www.thesims3.com/assetDetail.html?assetId=6034018The Rules1) The foundation or floor must stay the same size. No adding onto it or taking away from it. 2) All exterior walls must stay. 3) All roofs must stay except the small cone roof on the Sims 3 house may be altered or done away with. The above rules are to make sure the houses stay recognizable and we can see what we can all do with the same shaped house. 4) You may change windows, fireplaces and knock out and change any internal walls. Decorate to whatever colour scheme or theme takes your fancy. 5) This will be played in rounds. Each room will be a round lasting one week. (This is subject to change should many need a longer or shorter time) 6) A thread will be made to post each rounds pictures on and a poll held once the round is finished. 7) There are three categories and yes you may enter more than once or in more than one category. 8) You may makeover your entire house right away if you want or do any temporary decorating to help you plan things out, just try not to show that too much in your photos. The Categories 1) The Sims 3 2)The Sims 2 with cc 3) The Sims 2 with no cc. I think this represents those who want to play the best. Subject to change if need be. Round One: The Kitchen Mashed Potatoes on the Ceiling
Mashed potatoes on the ceiling. Green beans on the floor. Stewed tomatoes in the corner. Squash upon the door.
Pickled peppers in my pocket. Spinach up my sleeves. Mushrooms in my underpants with leeks and lettuce leaves.
Okra, onions, artichokes, asparagus and beets; buried neatly underneath the cushions of our seats.
All the rest I've hidden in my socks and down my shirt. I'm done with all my vegetables. I'm ready for dessert!
--Kenn Nesbitt Now you're done with the laugh-get decorating!

Round Two~ The Dining Room
On top of spaghetti, All covered with cheese, I lost my poor meatball, When somebody sneezed.
It rolled off the table, And on to the floor, And then my poor meatball, Rolled out of the door. posted by poppo
Added by modelmgt
It rolled down the pavement and under a bush and now my poor meatball is nothing but mush!

Round Three~ The Lounge Room Ode to a Couch
I see your leather shining in the sun, so inviting and fluffy I must sit in you the way I sink into your depths the way you make that squeaking sound, oh couch I love the way you are. I love you from your soft armrests Down to your reclining back. When I sit in you and lean back I feel as if I was floating on a cloud When I lay my head on your arm I try not to fall asleep. Couch, when I am sad you are there for me, you let me cry into your arm. Couch, when I am sick you are the one who supports me. Couch, when I am afraid you are the one I seek shelter in. Couch, oh couch, When everyone is gone you are there to support me (literally).

Round Four~ Master Bedroom Oh bed my bed Our day has just begun It snowed today No work, hooray I might sleep in til oneOh bed my bed I love to lay on you You're there for me Whenever I need You make me feel brand new
Oh bed my bed You feel so good to me When I'm all tucked in With eyes closed grin I get the sleep I need
Oh bed my bed How you make time fly My eyes I closed And then arose To find that noon was nigh
Oh bed my bed You make my day so bright But now its time For the daily grind But I'll be back tonight
By Jimnks
I decided just a master bedroom was a little too predictable, so to make this more interesting I've made this round into not one, not two, but three rooms. So master bedroom and two rooms off it. The rooms must be accessible from inside the master bedroom although they may have another door out into a hall if you wish. What these two extra rooms contain is up to you. It can be a bathroom, nursery, walk in dressing area, office, sewing room or whatever else you can think of that a Master bedroom suit might have. These two extra rooms can be small. Now there isn't a huge area up there as it's really an attic, but make sure to leave enough room for another bedroom. Have fun, I'm looking forward to seeing what we all come up with. ;D

Round Five~ Other Room My favorite room
By Tim Oh
There is a favorite room of mine, a room I call my friend
A place for rest and relaxation where, a lot of time I spend
A quiet little space at home, that’s peaceful and serene
It’s one of those special getaways if you know just what I mean.
No one around to bother me, or chase away my smile
In fact I’ve even taken naps there for a little while
Until someone comes knocking and wanting to come in
Then I start to get annoyed and I quickly lose my grin
It’s then I know my time is up and now I’ve got to rush.
I make some final preparations before I hit the flush
This special little room I use I’m sure you have one too
The tiny little escape hatch we all know as the loo Okay so that was a poem about a loo, but it was the best 'favourite room poem' I could find! This room can be anything that we haven't already had. So it can be a study, family bathroom, child's room, spare room, whatever you can come up with for the space.

Round Six~ The Garden My Garden © Marie Church As I look out to my garden I feel a sense of pride It really is a lovely room Except it is outside.
Where lovely things mix and match And greenery fills the walls The sound of trickling water Coming from the gold fish pond.
I love the sight of stones and rocks And driftwood and tree ferns to The sounds of all my chimes I know you would like it to.
With pride I walk around my garden And savour each scent and smell Colours of yellow, red and gold Striped cushion on a bench.
The bird bath has its own domain It's placed beside a wooden arch Where all the birds come to bathe And drink when they are parched.
Ladybirds can hide away Sometimes they come out to see What's happening around them With caterpillars and the bees.
There's not much more that I can say Except if you have your own It won't take long to build it up Seeds will bloom once they are sown. The last round! The garden. Feel free to take plenty of pictures. I'm setting no picture limit for this as it's possible for this to take a lot although try not to go too crazy. 100 would be crazy. This is both the front and back yards and whatever you feel it should contain. You may include outside type buildings such as a garden shed, a garage a gazebo or whatever else takes your fancy. It should not include things such as another bedroom. The rules: Don't modify the existing decks/foundation and the pool must be left as is. That is do not alter its shape or size. You may add steps, diving board, decorations etc. Have fun! ;D

Woops, I already modified the pool size.....at least I have the original picture to change it back! Totally going to try for the millionth time to build a garage (failed every time since I got Nightlife so far), that would fit right in.

Do you want an attached garage? I can find the tutorial I use if you like. I've built about 4 now but I still need to check a couple of the steps.

That would be great if you've got it Jo. I'm always trying to build a garage and end up with them just having a driveway.

"The rules: Don't modify the existing decks/foundation and the pool must be left as is. That is do not alter its shape or size. You may add steps, diving board, decorations etc" WHOOPS I actually deleted the pool to make money at one point way back at the start of the contest! Can somebody give me the dimensions(squares wide & long) of it and I will try and put it back where it was?

modelmgt, you should really use an empty house for a design contest because then no sims will be in your way and you have all the money you need, but if you do have sims in a place just use 'motherlode'. I'll have to look in game at the pool when I have it loaded (later today) and I'll post the dimensions for you.
Everyone just remember no structural changes includes the pool. In real life getting an in ground pool demolished is a big thing. I am allowing the garage to be built onto the house as that is a realistic extension that people might do, but this is the only structural change allowed. This is so we are all working with the exact same house with the same amount of space which makes it both fair and interesting. I really enjoy seeing how everyone is interpreting the space.

So far I am really looking forward to completing the garden, and am enjoying the creating process on this one! You want a garden?? I'll give you a garden!
I have two questions though: 1. does building a footbridge count as adding on to the foundation, if it is not connected to the house? 2. Is it okay to change the house's exterior wallaper(the old-english-meets-castle look)Not sure what I want, I just know I never liked it.
Also, I did not say I had problems with my sims being stuck or in the way or anything, I just needed to raise cash fast at one point and since the outside didn't matter I deleted the pool and all of the fencing and brick path in the back..

In a real house structual means walls, foundations, pools, roofs. Brick path and garden edges aren't structual, those are the kinds of things people rip up and replace themselves over a weekend. A bridge is fine, a shed or pagola is fine and I've allowed an attached or seperate garage. All wallpaper inside or out can be changed.
The pool is a very simple rectangle as it was base game. 8 tiles long and five tiles wide.
